This not exactly one of my fav games it has to be said as i seem to find it annoying to play but this actually looks like it plays even better than the arcade version.
Yeah, none of this alteration due to how they chose to program the game for the SG-1000, which honestly, it's impressive the ColecoVision port came out as good as it did.
SEGA would have been better off just releasing slightly modified Colecovision versions of some of their games for the SG-1000. It's sad that Coleco's ports, on a system that's almost just like the SG-1000 (except with less RAM) is able to outdo SEGA's ports on their own console

Well...let's see...Congo Bongo, huh? I do not understand why this is the first Sega 1000 longplay since it is just another game that is copying Donkey Kong, along with many others. It has only two stages that get harder and harder, but the game is not fun and you get tired pretty easily. The sound effects are not really that good..and by this I mean they suck. Also, what's up with this weird music? My rate: 13/20.
Who'd think that of all developers that it would be Sega to release one of the biggest piles ever made for their own system! Mind = blown for Sega's laziness!

I honestly never thought i'd see an lp of an sg-1000 game.
I think the 2D side view works waaay better then the siometric view version of the original one.

The sound chip they use is Texas instruments SN76489

best version of congo bongo out there I tried the other versions on the emulator's but the d pad was all screwed up left was up and right was down

Maybe the sound chip is the same like Ti SN76489 for the colecovison but the sg-1000 use the clone sound chip Ti SN76489AN
The two machines share the same video chip, sound chip, and processor.
