      Hi! Thanks so much for you kind comments. I'd love to help you get the headlights on your Qashqai looking great again. In fact, the subject of my next time lapse video next Sunday is a Qashqai! I am based in Deal - Kent, but travel all over the place to complete my work. I'm fully mobile. Many thanks! Mark

      Question for you....I notice it was an LOT of hand work at the beginning of video. Must be very hard to do. So, why do you not use a mechanical device ? Would this not make it easier for you?

    • @Number1HeadlightRestoration
      @Number1HeadlightRestoration  6 місяців тому +3

      @sheilaturner2415 Thank you! That's a good question, and one that I'm quite often asked to be fair.
      I have always worked my sanding stages by hand because it's THE best way to make sure you don't over do anything, and always guarantees me the very best finish. I'm always striving for ultimate clarity and this really is the best way to achieve it.
      My first dry stage is quite aggressive, so a machine could damage the plastic if you're not careful, and leave you with much bigger problems to deal with! Even by hand, my dry sanding stage is not something most people should consider doing. Replacing my arm power with a machine could potentially speed the whole process up, but I've become really quite efficient at what I do, so if it ain't broke...

      Thank you for the explanation. I understand what you're saying, it makes sense. The results prove you're doing it right. I suppose there are no short cuts to a good job. 👍

    Super clean, relaxing and satisfying to watch!
    I seriously Thing that the ctossfire is a bit underrated, so it's quite interesting to see the Restauration on one of them!

    How long should a headlight restoration take per light

    • @Number1HeadlightRestoration

      Hi. Thanks for asking. On average I take about 2 to 3 hours per normal headlight. I hope you enjoyed my video. Many thanks 👍🏼

      Thank you again for your kind comment! Every now and then I get to work on something a bit more special, and the SRT6 was definitely that, so I was very keen to bring more to this video than just the headlights. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I will indeed try to add more like this in future 👍🏼

    How long is your process for both headlights?

    • @Number1HeadlightRestoration
      @Number1HeadlightRestoration  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi. Thanks for your question. As a very broad average it takes me 4 hours or so to complete a straightforward set of headlights now. I have refined every part of my process over the years to help with this. Some jobs, however can take considerably longer for a multitude of reasons. Even being as proficient as I am now, I've recently spent as long as 9 hours on just one unit. But that was suffering from some very abnormal and quite severe scratch damage. The videos of that are here on my channel. I'll try to pop a link to them in another reply to you here. Thanks again 👍🏼

    Are you dry or wet sanding? What’s your price range over by your neck of the woods? I’m in the US.
    Also what’s your sanding grit process and it what’s the step you do before coating them?

    • @Number1HeadlightRestoration
      @Number1HeadlightRestoration  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi, thanks for your message and thanks for watching 👍🏼 I dry sand, then do 2 different wet sanding stages followed by 2 different machine polishing stages. Then I apply a 2 year sealant (2 coats) I charge from £160 per set with prices increasing due to size and complications if there are any, like scratches etc Thank you again for being here with me, I really appreciate your support 🙏🏼👍🏼

    • @MichaelBrianInc
      @MichaelBrianInc 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Number1HeadlightRestoration awesome. What grits do you use for dry sanding and how do you keep the discs clean to not clog up? What sealant do you use? Seems you take a yellow pad of some sort to spread the sealant and then wipe it clean as it cures?

    • @Number1HeadlightRestoration
      @Number1HeadlightRestoration  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi again. Thanks....I use mainly 800 for the dry but sometimes use 600 if the going is tough. Although it takes much longer to clear those scratches with the second stage. I apply a nano ceramic coating twice, some times 3 times, but I don't film the third for fear of being people with seeing the same thing 3 times haha! Hope that all makes sense and helps somewhat👍🏼 My next time lapse goes out at 1700 hours UK time later today - Sunday 17th March. Thanks very much again for watching 🙌🏼
