Very impressive indeed. Bringing these ships in is very complex requiring pilots, radar help etc. Including the marine VHF radio is very good as well though bit scratchy at times which is to be expected. Port Phillip Bay is so big and exposed (unlike Sydney Harbour) must make these operations very challenging at times. Thank you.
@@daff.wallace2267 Don't worry as someone whose work involved use VHF/UHF radios (retired) the noise was due to location of station calling not the wind as far as I could determine.
Daff did you know the first study directly linking stress to cardiovascular disease was done by doctor working with the ACTU. He did a PhD thesis and he used a study of Victorian Sea Pilots navigating ships through the Rip. I think it was done in the early 80s. It was an excellent area to study given the Rip is one of the most dangerous areas of sea crossings in the world. I believe this thesis was done through RMIT. 😊
Just think,if we all drive electric cars in future, then no need for oil and this magnificent ship will be no longer be needed and sunk as an artificial reef.......
Electric cars are not the answer they might eventually be replaced with newer technology. Oil is always needed for many different industrial and commercial applications beyond motor vehicles.
Love that magpie singing!
Powerful strength of nature!!!!
Great video. Front Pollux was looking low in the water so I assume was well loaded.
Beautiful shots of ship turning into the South Channel. My grandfather was a naval architect, I like ships so it must have been passed down 😊
Glad you enjoyed it

Yes wind noise can be a problem at times. I have tried a couple of external mics with wind protectors but the wind still takes the main stage.

Moving parts need oil... possibly not crude, but got to get the other stuff from somewhere!
