Did spot this up my end of the Bay and was hoping you'd capture her departure through the heads. Fantastic video. I think she was enroute to Nelson NZ on the AIS. From memory I spotted the tow off the Prom the following day. Long way to NZ at that speed!!.
She is between Port Albert and Seaspray just off the coast with the two tugs nearby. www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:147.3/centery:-38.6/zoom:10
Daff there seems to be a problem with unqualified sea pilots. If a sea pilot didn’t have a masters certificate in large vessels I would be worried. Being a privately run service is worrying. I know too well how private enterprise works. Fingers crossed here.
All is good. All are well trained master mariners, it is just where each pilot has be assessed as "qualified" to sail in a certain area within the port . There is a bit of "argie bargie" going on between companies and all will sort it self out eventually.
@margaretcampbell2681 . Note that the pilotage of vessels through the Port Phillip Heads has always been by private persons and then later co-ops or companies. Licensed by the state marine authority of the time. It's just that there are now three companies in competition for work now.
Nice video ❤❤❤
Glad you liked it!
Excellent, thanks Daff.

Saw going out, 3 giant towers sticking out slowly moving in the horizon lol
Yes they were quite tall.
You don't see that everyday!🙂
Wondering if this is for dismantling Bass st oil rigs?
That’s a Drill Rig
@@terrylee6244 It's going to the Bass Strait rigs to de-construct rigs and infrastructure.
What kind of camera do you use?
Canon 5D M IV with 100-400 lens.
That's a drill rig, the cranes aren't big enough to deconstruct a platform.
where's she going? Valaris Scap?
Bass Strait Oil field.
