There are better ring lights, but this should give you an idea of my thoughts on small ring lights.

Hey. I have an idea. On ebay you can buy the LED Strips with the USB plug. So what about buying 2 or 4 of them, sticking them inside of the octobox, and than adding the 1 or 2 power banks with USB outs. That should be the best portable constant light for the low cost. I would go for the white LED strips since they will produce the most amount of light, but you could also try to do a similar thing with RGB ones. Keep in mind that the cheap RGB ones does flicker a lot, and I'm not sure if it's possible to get the good quality LED lights with just the USB plug. Could you test that out for us ? What you think ?
Hey.
Yeah good idea. But if you're using LED strips then it would be really inefficient to put them in a softbox. It would probably be far too dim for most uses. But yes you can use some to make a DIY panel, and if the larger it is the softer the light. The easiest way to get soft light is by making a big ring or square of lights. You can see this in some of my reviews of ring lights, etc.
Have a look at the video I made about the falcon eyes flat fabric LED panel. That's pretty good, just not as big as I want it.
The two issues with cheap LED strips is colour quality and lack of good dimming, but I think there are probably solutions for both of these issues. I would certainly love a huge led ring that's both rechargeable and lightweight, so I might try to do a DIY like this and post a video. You can see an old video in my lighting playlist where I made a very crappy one out of some fairy lights.
How do I find the batteries?? A link of the batteries would be great 👍🏾
If I remember correctly it's just V mount batteries. Best to check the product specs to be sure.
