Richie 'Vas' Vaculik grew up in Maroubra, Maroubra Beach was his playground and the Bra Boys were like family. He was their Minister for Good Times and a central character in the Bra Boys' story as they became famous and infamous in equal measure.

When we were kids he came up here to qld and we were about 5 i think? Even then he was gone at 3am chasin the swells. I drop his name at most surf shops and ppl go nuts haha
I wondered what Richie was up to... hanging around the fight scene in the late 90s and early to mid 2000s on the Eastern Beaches a fantastic experience

I met Richie in 2009 at a kickboxing gym in Newtown. He was a decent fella.

Btw when the Ls went to maroubra it was to stick it to the cops who they knew lived in the area and in their opinion had not done anything about the anglos but were now trying to stop the ls
Would be a good idea to look at that for what it was, a reaction. Not so much a racist event, if it were white westies doing what the wrx boys were doing it would have been the same reaction.
