Thanks Henriette, yes pink and black are a great colour combo! My garden too is suffering from the weird weather we are having this summer - and probably my lack of time/attention! 🥰
Hallooooo, darling! Loved this video, Kari! You know how much I adore to gel print. This was so much fun and I enjoyed your use of bright colours. I've some new inspiration and can't wait to make my own MCM shapes! Thank you, dear friend. Much love and bless to you and the lovely Miss Mabel xoxo
Thank you so much Kari, I really really enjoyed watching you relate those fantastic prints today. I’ve learnt such a lot from you and your an inspiration to us all. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤
This looks absolutely fun. Sorry kari im working like a donkey these days, will make time to watch on Sunday. I love block printing. Have a lovely weekend ❤😊
Ooh thanks for the tip about the delicate surface tape - I have one (painter's tape, I think? It's blue) and that's okay but still a bit too sticky sometimes. Jenga blocks?! Genius idea!! As for your papers - when I got Swedish tracing paper (I got the Patterntrace brand because that was the one recommended by Sally Hirst who uses it an awful lot in her collage art) it DID come on an enormous roll (I'll have enough for years, lol). I really liked how it glued down - it leaves a lovely toothy surface great for paint or drawing (or using colour pencils) on top of. My latest discovery is Tissutex which has the feel of very fine interfacing. I've yet to try it on the gel plate, but inks bleed into it beautifully - it too is transluscent. Great video - thank you!
There's something called 'Swedish dressmaking paper'? Never heard that expression before and I live in Sweden, and I have two different kinds of dressmaking papers at home. The larger roll, which isn't so much left of, and a smaller roll bought in a store. Loved to see the experiments and also how you make your printing blocks! I will make some with childrens foam an cardboard! And use bits of my dressmaking papers too! 😊
Thanks Anna, maybe it is called something else in Sweden. I am mostly using the dressmaking paper to trace my clothes patterns out as I don't like to cut into the commercial ones in case I want to use a different size at a later date. Also, I can make adjustments to the fit on my traced patterns without ruining the original. It was fun to try it out as I have quite a lot of both types of dressmaking papers now. The Morplan is the cheapest and available in many widths and lengths. Heh, I have just realised, most paper is in danger of being gel printed on at some stage around here, LOL! 🥰
Great video Kari. Love the stars they are so pretty. I always love your colour combinations my kind of colours. I hope your well is 'well' and truly restored?😊❤
Hi kari, I’ve really been enjoying your gelli plate and painty papers videos. Another great one today thank you. I was just wondering if you could explain what wet strength tissue is and how it’s different to normal tissue paper? Sorry if you have explained before and I missed it.
Hi Janene, sorry for my late reply - wet strength tissue is stronger than ordinary tissue and survives getting wet without tearing so easily. The Chinese use it for their lanterns, apparently. I hope this helps! 🥰
Kari new to gel plate. The price of Amsterdam paints is $$$! When you put paint down why do you press paint on plate causing a smoosh on tube then it dries and what a waste. I just drop it from above and try not to waste a drop. Broke now in Florida lol ❤❤❤
Thank you for your comments - I love to read them! ❤️
The pink and black are gorgeous 😍. Great blocks for printing. I love your voice!😊❤
That was such fun! Thanks Kari for sharing with us and many kisses to the hungry furry teenager!
Thanks Jane, and thanks from the teenage hooligan!🤣🥰
OMG! The pink and black one is to die for! And yes, I sympathise about the lack of time during summertime. My garden is now officially a wilderness.
Thanks Henriette, yes pink and black are a great colour combo! My garden too is suffering from the weird weather we are having this summer - and probably my lack of time/attention! 🥰

Aw, thanks for popping by, Maria, I'm sorry about your workload at the moment. I hope you get some rest soon! 🥰🥰
Thank you for this great video, especially the paper comparisons. That is so helpful as I have leftover dressmaker pattern paper!
Glad it was helpful Kathleen, the dressmaking paper is great, I love it for layered collage!

Instead of the anti-skid mat, you could tape down the white paper that the plate is on directly to your table, and then it wouldn’t move!
Ha! That's a great idea, thank you! 🥰
Great video Kari. Love the stars they are so pretty. I always love your colour combinations my kind of colours.
I hope your well is 'well' and truly restored?😊❤
Thanks Toni, yes the well is much fuller now! 🥰
It is funny I picked up large foam Easter eggs at thrift store that I can use for this project.
Oh, heheh, they are perfect to use for block printing - and good find! ❤️🥚

Thank you 🥰😍 what If you lay the white paper under the anti slip mat? Then maby the gel-plate don’t move. Much love 💕
Great idea, thank you very much! 🥰
Buy your wet strength tissue paper from Carnival. It’s the very best, not expensive, and is a UK company. Buy direct from them.
Ah, OK, thanks Diane, it is the Carnival brand I buy, but I didn't know you could buy direct from them, I will in future now I know that! 🥰

The paint goes a long way and thank you for the hint about dropping the paint, I will try that! 🥰
Have you ever used exam table tissue paper?
Thanks Linda, I have not tried it, but I will get some now! 🥰
👍✌️❤️
Thank you very much! ❤️❤️
