    Which setup wins for you? Can you spot the budget one? :D Unfortunatly I have messed up with the brightness of the lights - but I hope the battle was not to easy for you! :D

      Which one was the budget one?
      For me the B version looked best.

    •  Рік тому +3

      Setup A has a flatter look overall, less contrast on the face(which indicates a bigger softbox than the one used in cheap setup). Also the backlight in setup A is set to higher and might be an aputure amaran. Yet the white balance in the setup A looks a bit off to the green side. My conclusion is Setup A is the 3000$ Setup.
      After all, if you have a hard time which one looks better, that's the success of knowledge and cheap gear combined. Keep up good work brother!

    Hi Fabian, very pleased to come across your channel - very informative :) I was wondering your recommendations for shooting interviews but from within a car? I have two subjects I need it to be almost hands free after pressing record with a remote - I need audio too, how can I remotely start recording the audio too? Small tip, I suggest adding a little background music every now and then or some little sound effects :D danke!

    Fabian, thank you this awesome video!
    I need to record podcasts where will be at least two people in the frame, can you please recommend the best lighting setup? My budget has been spent on the camera (Sony a6400 and A7III) and the sound (dynamic mics, field recorders, cables, stands...). Now I need to figure out how to get light into my frame. Setup must be very light as I will need to transport it to the spot. Any tips and tricks?

  • @ArcMediaFilms
    @ArcMediaFilms Рік тому

    I have an interview to film in a movie theatre do you think I would get enough light from one of these lights plus I have some small LED panel lights? I am worried about the video being noisy due to lack of light. Thanks Glenn

    Really helpfull and very well done. This is one of the best videos for starters. Thumbs up and I've hit the bell button. One extra question: how long does it take you -by average- to set up that basic set? As a one man band, with keylight, softbox, backlight, maybe the reflector, camera and sound on a location on the road. Excluded the coffee (I agree on the importance though)....

    • @FabianBrucker
      @FabianBrucker  Рік тому +1

      Thats a good question and it surely depends on the location and how much is needed to do. In perfect conditions with all gear in the room I would probably say 15-20min alone. If I rush it can be under 15min I guess. But I know my Equipment and everything around it. On brand new locations I calculate 30-45min and sometimes longer if it is a really important shoot 👍🏽

    Hey Fabian, great video and very helpful! Thank you so much! I got a question though. What about Godox SL-60W fan noise level? I'm planning quite a long interview shoot for a feature-length documentary in February next year (my first big project). I'm expecting to get a solid 2-3+ hour interview material. I've seen some other videos showing that this particular Godox and i'ts cooling fan can be quite noisy and I'm afraid it'll get picked by the mic. On the other hand, the noisless Godox lights (like UL60) are twice as expensive. You got any experience with that?

    • @FabianBrucker
      @FabianBrucker  Рік тому +1

      There is some noise - but you can even tweak it (replace the fan with cheap 5€/$ fans) and it will be much more silent. But in my experience its nothing what would bother me in interviews. I would reduce the noise anyway in post and even if i didnt do it its not really noticable :)

  • @lazdafilms
    @lazdafilms Рік тому

    Great Video! I was recording interview inside (similar setup), but there was cloudy and sunny day. The ambient light(room light) was changing very intensively. Also, I was recording WB manual.. When was the sunnny, room color changes a lot. What to do in this situation? Auto White balance and Auto ISO?

    • @bedenegative6450
      @bedenegative6450 Рік тому

      Cheap scrim or floppy to block out light. Just get a huge black reflector or black cloth to cover natrual light. Sometimes that's the only way.
