Fun song and a hilarious video! To refresh your memories, it was Roger Taylor's girlfriend's idea to dress in drag. Bass guitar player John Deacon wrote the song and was the frumpy granny in the dark coat and hat, and part of the song was about his sometimes wanting to "break free" from the stress of the rock star lifestyle and be with his wife and kids. The idea for the video was they were spoofing a popular English soap opera called Coronation Street. The song has nothing to do with Freddie. Freddie wasn't married to Mary Austin when he realized he was bisexual in the mid '70's, but they were engadged. She understood and they stayed lifelong friends. Dressing in drag is a popular form of comedy in the UK. The guys all had a blast dressing in drag, they thought it was hilarious. Infamously, the stuffed shirts at MTV didn't get the joke behind the cross-dressing part of the video and banned it. Ronald Regan was president at the time. The ballet section actually featured Freddie with members of the royal ballet, of which Freddie was a huge fan. Also, in case your wondering, the device in the opening sequence was a tea-maid. It's a combination kettle and alarm clock. It's supposed to boil water or make tea when the alarm goes off but was reputedly unstable. The band was always experimenting with their music, pushing the envelope, going against the grain. Brian May and Roger Taylor did an audio commentary on this song and it's really interesting and funny. ua-cam.com/video/jiwz3sBEWcU/v-deo.html

Yes, this is both Barcelona the album and Barcelona the single from that album and probably the best-known song from it. In my opinion the entire album is brilliant. Montserrat Caballé 1933- 2018 was a fabulous opera singer who formed a fast friendship with Freddie late in Freddie's life, and their collaboration is one of a kind. Well said, guys! Unfortunately, the world was a lot more close minded when they did this video. I remember all the slack Queen got. MTV would only show this video late at night, and some affiliates banned it. Freddie was heartbroken. But in the end, he knew how much he and Queen were loved. Music can move mountains!💐
@@davidhohn9106 Yeah, this is true, and I'm glad he kicked us to the curb. (I'm in the U.S.) Because he was right and we deserved it. This ridiculous, damaging, pointless judgmental chokehold we've never been able to shake since the Puritans in the 1600s comes with consequences at every possible level. From cultural and artistic consequences right on up through deadly serious social and political consequences. I'm glad Freddie walked away from us. He did the right thing. The only right reply to backward thinking is 🖕. I'm eternally sorry it came to that, but I wasn't, at the time, surprised. We just can't seem to grow up. 💔.
I was 10 years old at the time and living in the UK - there was no big fuss about the video in the UK, people thought it was funny :) It probably helped that they were clearly lampooning the very popular UK soap opera Coronation Street - but it also explains why Queen's popularity in the US declined somewhat after this came out, whereas in their native UK they continued having big hits right up to the time of Freddie's death
I love this song and the video was great. I'm so proud of Queen for doing this. Break Free! ❤❤❤❤ It wasn't Freddie's idea to dress in drag. He said John, Roger, and Brian were the first to jump into their frocks. 😂🤣 Freddie lived with Mary Austin for six years they were never married. However Freddie referred her to be his common in law wife. He loved Mary and she loved him he trusted her more than any other person in his life. Thank God times have changed and yes guys your right people should be able to live their lives they way they want too. Freddie was so happy when he was able to do that. Queen is so incredible and everyone should totally appreciate the talent. Always a huge thank guys for sharing all the incredible music. ❤❤❤❤
I just love that Freddie's music will on for younger generations to fall in love with!! I also just love your reactions and what the lyrics meant..❤❤❤❤
I understand why most people would think this is a coming out song written by Freddie, but we have to remember that he wasn’t the only one who wrote songs in the band, all four of them were extremely talented songwriters. This song in specific was written by bassist John Deacon, he actually wrote some of Queen’s biggest hits!! Even though he was a very lowkey and private person, he still gave so much to the band, even if he didn’t sing. He definitely deserves way more recognition for his talent. Great reaction as always!!
The song was not about Freddie; John Deacon wrote it. As for the costumes, that was Roger’s idea and it was poking fun of a popular sitcom in Britain at the time.
One of my favourite Queen songs - it's so catchy and just fabulous. The video is great - I love it, it's typical British humour! It parodied a long running British soap, Coronation Street. Saw the video plenty of times on Top of the Pops in the UK. Great reaction, guys, as always. Thanks so much for reacting to this classic Queen song.
You're right - it's worth mentioning that though this video was controversial in the US, it wasn't controversial at all in the UK. Both the song and the video did very well (I'm old enough to remember it unfortunately! Haha)
The only issue with the "way" Mercury was, was the era in medicine, not the music in any way. We lost him way too early, and as a straight guy who is old enough to have listened to all of the Queen albums when they arrived, even then we appreciated the art and could not care less what the artists did outside from what we listened to/watched/followed.
Please tell that to Brian! He was convinced that they lost fans recognition and america due to people realising Freddie was gay Assume he was talking about hot space He then started to explain about this video 93 He may realise now hes putting too much on freddie but im really not sure!
The medicine was just a bit too late. Magic Johnson, of the same era, made it through and has built a deeply meaningful life beyond his brilliant basketball career . . . his HIV timeline is just ahead of Freddie's by a short time . . . medicine did get there, and no doubt there was huge hope for Freddie within his personal close circle, it was close. It really was close. And yes - no one who loved both Freddie and Queen gave a rat's backside about, well, whatever.
Great song, fun video. thank you. John wrote this song and said it was about women wanting to break out of their stereotypical roles but not being comfortable letting go of all the things in life they still felt bonded to. The drag part was suggested by Roger's girlfriend. The band said this was a really fun video to make. Freddie didn't write this song nor did he suggest the theme of the video. The female characters were taken from a British Soap Opera called Coronation Street.
The song was not written by Mercury. It was written by John Deacon. The idea to dress in drag was not Freddie's...it was done as a nod to a long running British sitcom "Coronation Street. "
Another great song written by Deacon John. I believe he was going through a divorce at the time. Freddie was never married although he did refer to Jim Hutton as his husband. The video was banned on MTV in America. The British humour did not carry over.
John never divorced Veronica, he just sometimes felt like he wanted to "break free" from the stress of the rock star lifestyle and be with his wife and kids. Brian May was having marital problems, he got divorced in 1988.
Hello, thank you for the video. I advise you to make, if you haven't done it yet, a reaction to the wonderful young singer Diana Ankudinova. This girl will surprise you with her artistry and rare timbre of voice. She has covers of famous songs, and also performs her own songs.
I will always love queen. They were so far ahead of the times, weren't afraid to try anything, and always did it perfect! Thanks for sharing this! Next you should react to it live at Wembley. ;)
Nice , , , I heard someone say they could imagine Freddie involved in directing this video telling the various bodies "roll a bit faster or some other such instruction...just working toward perfection. Well it's a fun video...Bass player grandma, John Deacon, guitarist harried housewife, Brian May, drummer flirty teenager, Roger Taylor and giving it his all Freddie Mercury. Love 'em to pieces, Forever. Thanks for the attention.
Rogerina 🤣 thanks guys. It was John Deacon who writhe the song, and Rogers girl who hadcthe idea that they should bee in drag. They bee bumpt in the US, but they come back again with Another one bites the dust 😘
I know everybody thinks this is his coming-out song it actually was written by John and it was Roger's idea to dress up as school girls and imitate the British soap opera Coronation Street Freddy had nothing to do with it and was actually shocked when they came up with the idea
I think many people like to try to identify where in the Queen canon might "Freddie's coming out song" be, but this one is most definitely not that, since Freddie didn't even write it plus it's very late in the Queen catalogue, and the words just don't fit what he actually traveled through. Brian May has alluded to the first portion of Bohemian Rhapsody as being Freddie's expression of daring to change his life, being true to himself, and this does make sense. BoRhap was by Mercury's own description three separate songs he couldn't bring to resolution individually, so he just "put them all together". The first verses of BoRhap do fit with what Freddie was in fact navigating at the time the words were written, and when viewed in that context do make exact sense.
@@markingtime1024 true but Freddie never wanted the songs to be about anything other than what the person listening to wanted it to be I don't think he ever had a coming out song and I don't really think that Bohemian Rhapsody was that that's my own opinion
@@alethamarsh6583 Yeah, I agree with both your and May's assessment and people should know you're right about Freddie always 100% wanting people to interpret the songs as they wished. I probably should have used different phrasing. I should have said that if there IS such a thing the first two verses of BoRhap might be it but I think you and May are both right 🙃 i.e. it's forever an open question, both are possible, neither are for sure, which likely would have suited Freddie just fine. 😊.
@@markingtime1024 I agree it could be a coming out song in his own terms but as Brian said in an interview even they didn't know what it was about so when people say it's his coming out song which they like to say in a couple of his or their songs it just makes me angry because he would never have labeled that in that way
@@alethamarsh6583 Yes, I understand. Those two verses may or may not have been, they're open to interpretation, although May in much later interviews has alluded to it but that may or may not be pure retrospective speculation on his part. I'm only saying that the words in those two verses make sense, they fit, they're the only ones which do given when they were written - out of the entire huge Queen canon that's the only fit which might be made. I personally do lean toward those verses expressing what Mercury was passing through at the time, yet it doesn't seem to fit his character to deliberately craft a "coming-out" song, so, it's all open and folks can take what they wish from the lyrics. In the end, though, right, nobody can cite a specific "coming out" song, because there isn't one.
Zhou Shen has a high, feminine voice that often got him bullied in school. If his classmate only could have seen the talent in that voice. As an introduction into Zhou "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye". For something different from him, watch his version of "Ring the Doorbell" and "Da La Beng Ba". His biggest success is the song "Big Fish". Another singer that is highly rated is Hua Chenyu. One never knows what one will get with a Hua Chenyu song since he mixes genres and composes many of his own songs. He is an epic stage performer spilling his emotions into the audience so they can share in those emotions. He is also a master are redeveloping cover songs into his unique perspective. I have a recommendation list, but it is not really in any particular order. "Nunchucks", "Child", I am what I am", "Fake Monk", "Friend", and "Dad, I'm Home"
I love this song! It’s currently being used in the Norwegian Cruise Lines commercials. Anyway, Housewife (Freddie) tired of mundane chores, silly school girl (Roger), Grumpy Granny (John), & bothersome in law or live-in parent (Brian) maybe has a lover on the side “wants to break free” but life still goes on!! 🙄 A great nod to Coronation Street & the Women’s Movement. 👠👠💄💋
I just remembered in the documentary "Killer Queen" they discuss this video and apparently, Brian's "character" is the daughter that still lives at home.
Great reaction. He wasn't married BTW. He was engaged but she said she knew deep down he had no intention of marrying her. One day she asked should she get a wedding dress? He told her no. Then she knew got sure. He did however call his partner Jim his husband though they couldn't formally marry.
People often think this song is Freddie's coming out story, but it isn't. THIS is Brian May's coming out story. Brian was married with 3 children when Anita Dobson came to a Queen concert and shortly after they started having an affair. During the affair, Brian literally put his girlfriend Anita, in this video, dancing with Freddie @ 3:21. BRIAN wanted to break free...free from his marriage. (I wish it were Freddie's coming out story because the real version is sad,) Freddie was an incredibly intelligent and street savvy man, he would allow everyone to speculate about his sexuality, but he would never give it up to anyone.
From what I understand this video was banned in U.S. The beginning was a take off of a British show called Coronation street. There must be some clips on Your. Check it out for reference. The beginning will make sense. 😀
I also want a reaction to Queen. For example, "Is This The World We Created", "Don't Try So Hard", "Jealousy", "All Dead, All Dead" (I recommend watching the backstory of this song), "Brighton Rock", "Dragon Attack", "Dear Friends" and so on. I can also offer solo projects with Freddie. Songs such as "Exercises In Free Love", "There Must Be More To Life Than" (you can make 2 versions with this song, that is, when he himself only sings and together with Michael Jackson). I wish you a good viewing and reactions.

I agree with everything Diane North said here. It's a great song by John Deacon but sadly so misunderstood by it's video. They had already gained the following of the band by USA by then but unfortunately when they saw this video, they lost it again which was probably inevitable unless you knew about UK's soap opera "Coronation Street." We who were native to the UK could make the connection straight away without any explanation but outside the UK, people jumped to the wrong conclusion. This was why Freddie wanted to be so outrageous at times in the band's videos so that they didn't distort the listeners interpretation of the meaning behind a song. Such a shame that people didn't judge it for it's music rather than the video.

The meaning of why "Queen" is so popular nowadays in the USA, is that they where almost unknown . With this video they were blocked in the USA. Before this they only had number one hot there "Another one bites the dust" and their earlier hits where unknown by american people, so we can say they only knew few work from queen that time. This is the reason whay everybodysang We are the chamapions or we will rock you but few peolple really knew those were Queen songs. But, I must ask, how old are you? Queen always sold in the U.S. - not as well as in other countries, that's true. But I was there, I've been there since 1973 with this band, and not every American was or is unable to recognize fabulous stuff. Too many are, it's true. But not all. To say that Queen were "almost unknown" in the U.S. isn't true.
The dressing as women was an idea of John Deacon, based on the English soap Cornation Street, but in the USA this song was not done, so they never returned to the USA because they said f**** them, Freddie’s words 😁
I must say, "nice shirts"!! Creativity, humor and mega talent. Freddie said that it wasn't his idea to dress in drag but he was the first to jump into his frocks.
You need more women rockers guys! Suggestion: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, "Do You Wanna Touch Me? (Oh Yeah)" (1982) & "Dirty Deeds" (1990). Both Great Covers! Peace!
The song was written by John Deacon. Nothing to do with Freddie. I just read Peter Hince's book about being the roadie for John and for Freddie for most of Queen's career. He said that John was very unhappy with the band at the time he wrote this song so that's an interesting piece of information. But...everyone reacts the same way. Oh...it's Freddie coming out and I get why people who don't even check the songwriter might think that. But, it's not it. Also - it's a great song and I love this video. My response was not just to you guys but to all of the reactors who say the same thing ;)
🌟No, guys... You are wrong. This song has nothing to do with Freddie's sexuality... Everyone has the same impression because of the video and Freddie's outrageous and flamboyant persona dressed in drag. 🌟This song is written by our baby John Deacon (the grumpy granny) and is about the press he feels of being a superstar, under the spotlight all the time, touring the world and on the other hand his family... He wants to break free. As we all know, John is the most reserved and intimidated of the 3 so all this situation was driving him mad. He hated it... 🌟Also the idea of dressing in drag wasn't Freddie's... It came from the drummer's gf then. However Freddie said that he wanted to suggest that to his bandmates but he was afraid of their reaction so he didn't say anything. When that idea came on, he agreed. 🌟As for the video, it's just a parody of a British TV show called "Coronation Street" It's about the story about 4 housewives and not about Freddie officially coming out of the closet... But for the reasons I wrote above, it was him who was taken the blame for and the video had banned from the MTV in the US. 🌟I missed you so much guys, you and your reactions. You are my favourites, I tell you... 😉
Nope totally wrong, it was a John Deacon song about oppression back in the last century and it was Roger Taylor girlfriend idea to dress up in drag, MTV hated the video and banned it, also you've played the short version, there is a slightly longer one, and also it's based on the set of our longest running Soap Coronation Street
Freddie never married a woman. Roger's girlfriend suggested drag as a homage to a British tv show. John Deacon wrote the song. The negative feedback was mtv refused to play it
Radio stations banned this song, and there was such a wave of homophobia BS in the US, that Freddie swore he'd never step foot in the US again, and he didn't. They song was about women gaining rights, not Freddie 'coming out', thus all the guys in drag. Cross dressing is a regular part of British humor. I was so fortunate to see Queen in '82, on what sadly turned out to be their last time in the US.
I love your reactions guys. I recommend you to watch the One Vision music video, then the One Vision making of and then the performance of One Vision in Wembley. It's freaking amazing, you're going to love it!
I haven't read every comment, this may already have been mentioned - in this video, all the people with the lights on their hardhats - that was meant to show solidarity with all working people and specifically with the miners of England who were at the time of this song's release being battered to pieces by Margaret Thatcher and her government. Any and all working people killing themselves in crummy jobs also did and do long to break free.
I totally understand that Freddie gets most of the attention - I love him too, but there are three other members in this band who are just as magnificent. John Deacon, the bassist, wrote this song that you love so much and you totally neglected to even mention his name once - you pointed out the other three in their drag, and did not mention John. Can I make the suggestion that you do a brief research before you react to a song, even if just to find out who wrote it (particularly with Queen as all four of them wrote songs) - at the very least it would be polite.

Freddie was ANGRY, and swore he'd never step foot in the US again, and they didn't.
You guys are fun and gorgeous doesn't hurt either. Thanks for your love of music.
I was 10 years old at the time and living in the UK - there was no big fuss about the video in the UK, people thought it was funny :)
It probably helped that they were clearly lampooning the very popular UK soap opera Coronation Street - but it also explains why Queen's popularity in the US declined somewhat after this came out, whereas in their native UK they continued having big hits right up to the time of Freddie's death
🎸💯 I absolutely LOVE Queen‼🔥
I love this song and the video was great. I'm so proud of Queen for doing this.
Break Free!
❤❤❤❤
It wasn't Freddie's idea to dress in drag.
Coronation Street!
Haha)
Fearless pink floyd
The only issue with the "way" Mercury was, was the era in medicine, not the music in any way. We lost him way too early, and as a straight guy who is old enough to have listened to all of the Queen albums when they arrived, even then we appreciated the art and could not care less what the artists did outside from what we listened to/watched/followed.
Please tell that to Brian!
He was convinced that they lost fans recognition and america due to people realising Freddie was gay
Assume he was talking about hot space
He then started to explain about this video
93
He may realise now hes putting too much on freddie but im really not sure!
Hi Guys,
You have to view ....
'These are the days of our lives'
Speechless
Awesome
That is an amazing song but bittersweet
Great song, fun video. thank you. John wrote this song and said it was about women wanting to break out of their stereotypical roles but not being comfortable letting go of all the things in life they still felt bonded to. The drag part was suggested by Roger's girlfriend. The band said this was a really fun video to make. Freddie didn't write this song nor did he suggest the theme of the video. The female characters were taken from a British Soap Opera called Coronation Street.
Love this video.
Always excited when a new video of yours comes out. Especially when it’s Queen!!! 👸💪❤️
Freddie and the band had such a sense of style, drama and sheer joy. Every song just makes me happy 😊
The song was not written by Mercury. It was written by John Deacon. The idea to dress in drag was not Freddie's...it was done as a nod to a long running British sitcom "Coronation Street. "
Love your shirts!!
Love your gifts!
My most favorite queen song ever!!! Brian's guitar is so fantastic!!! How much we miss Freddie!!! R.I.P. Dear Sweet Freddie🙏❤️❤️❤️
Actually in the studio version there is no Brian May's guitar solo . The solo is played on synthesizer by Canadian musician Fred Mandel
Another great song written by Deacon John. I believe he was going through a divorce at the time. Freddie was never married although he did refer to Jim Hutton as his husband. The video was banned on MTV in America. The British humour did not carry over.
John and his wife are still married (almost 50 years!) and have 6 kids. He wrote the song, but it wasn't about his marriage.
John never divorced Veronica, he just sometimes felt like he wanted to "break free" from the stress of the rock star lifestyle and be with his wife and kids. Brian May was having marital problems, he got divorced in 1988.
@@lala_sparkles8035 Thanks guys. I've watched so many documentaries on Queen over the years I get my facts mixed up.

The funniest clip of the world!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I love this video even after 10,00 times seeing it😂😂😂
Hello, thank you for the video. I advise you to make, if you haven't done it yet, a reaction to the wonderful young singer Diana Ankudinova. This girl will surprise you with her artistry and rare timbre of voice. She has covers of famous songs, and also performs her own songs.

Queen i can't live with you remastered audio 2011 reaction
Beatifull Melina and Rogerina ❣️
Thanks for Queen reaction. But for you guys, I recommend early Queen….please react The Prophets Song, Ogre Battle, Brighton Rock…..
I love Prophet's song ❤
I love Brighton Rock … oh heck I love them all.
More Queen
Rogerina 🤣 thanks guys. It was John Deacon who writhe the song, and Rogers girl who hadcthe idea that they should bee in drag. They bee bumpt in the US, but they come back again with Another one bites the dust 😘
Now I finally see which video was referenced in Die Prinzen's Alles Nur Geklaut video. I never knew where the vacuum scene came from.
He is a legend, you need to watch his movie, you will understand everything about him his life, his music, get the tissue ready 😁
The song was written by John. While the idea for the video starts from a British sitcom, and it was the idea of Roger’s girlfriend!
@@celticpoet21 REALLY??? That’s more annoying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great reaction. He wasn't married BTW. He was engaged but she said she knew deep down he had no intention of marrying her. One day she asked should she get a wedding dress? He told her no. Then she knew got sure.
He did however call his partner Jim his husband though they couldn't formally marry.

Gotta luv it

The Best!!
Guys, you need to react to "the March of the black queen" and "the millionaire waltz".
From what I understand this video was banned in U.S. The beginning was a take off of a British show called Coronation street. There must be some clips on Your. Check it out for reference. The beginning will make sense. 😀
This video was a skit on British soap operas.... Coronation Street and East Ender's etc.
Hair raising at the time
This was considered a camp classic in the UK but effectively ended their career in the US. Was boycotted by MTV. But it is an enduring song.
Guys, please take a look at ‘A king of magic’! Such a great song!
Great songs!!
THE FLEETWOOD MAC SHIRT😩😻
Greatest video ever!
I'm pretty sure the 'guitar' solo is in fact Brian playing a synth but using his trademark guitar licks.
Fred mandel did the synth solo
john also plays synth aswell as electric and acustic guitar and bass
Brian does play some red special ends with synth also 'assists' ?
It's Fred Mandel on this track playing the synth.
Loved that the whole band dressed up. Great song
the long version of the video is even better
Thank you for reacting to this song.
This is my favourite Queen song.
The song was originally intended to be a male perspective of the women’s liberation movement.
Freddie as never married;)
The best
Guys I'm so happy to see you reacting to queen again ❤do more Queen please 🙏🏻 can you please react to Prophet's song you are missing big time on this one 🔥
Killer queen &I'm in love with my car from Montreal 1981❤ Roger is singing and he is on fire 🔥 he is so underrated singer
Great to see you back! 👊🤘
Johns uk no 3
us no 45
uk and europe loved the song and video and enjoyed the humour of it
didnt see it as having anything to do with sexuality
most people can relate to this song as we have always felt we want to brake free froma relationship, job, family!
expectations and restrictions put on us
womens roles are...men should be...so on and so on...
this isnt about freddie but he would have related as well 'be free' comfortably and openly like everyone else without fear
he had a dont like me sod off then attitude but he was restricted how he lived publically family,band....
Ha! Roger made such a pretty girl that they started calling him Rogerina!
So now most people are discovering them as it was not possible in those past days.
a lot of people think they had a lot of hits in America
but they did have 5 top 5 albums in the us from NOTO to the game being no1 in 1980
they didnt have lots of single hits but freddies cltcl was no 1 for 4 weeks
john AOBTD for 3 weeks but ended up being top us single in 1980 as well as for Queen
both off the Game which was a no 1 album US
Freddie bo Rap only got to no 9 in 75 us bboard
92
billboard no 2
Hot rock no 2
Cash no 1
(Freddie passed Nov 91 and was featured in waynes world early 92)
(they won an MTV award of all things! for best video in a film)
and most played song in 93,radio
their first single to chart was Freddies killer queen but that's in 74 no 12
freddies somebody to love cash no 9 (BB 13) in 76
we are the champions/rock you no 4 in 77 or early 78?
(Freddie/Brian)
After the game the only almost no 10 in 80s in the us was Freddies body language! at no 11 in 82
until 89 want it all us rock no 3
then headlong 91 at no 3 us rock
(Both Brians)
so maybe not a household name like some bands
but huge success with The Game in 80
and success with others but not many in the 80s
saying that they did do well with concerts in the us
apparently madisen garden sold out very quickly
other cocerts did well and they headlined in the us 75 on wards,74 they supported mott the hoople in the us but Brian was ill
Snl 82
yes obviously its a shame they didnt do more
then sadly Freddie wasnt able to but after they started to fall in the us early 80s it would have taken a lot to pull it back but I think they could have
this video didnt help people have said freddie refused to tour in 84 then he couldnt after that
But live aid was global in 85 and they stole the show uk down as legendary
As far as i know they were also well received in the us
Bo Rap is now Diamond so it's had 10m physical and digital equivalent sales in the US
AOBTD as far as I know is still played and known there
but as you said some are known, anthems,tv ads, films
Freddies DSMN has over 1b downloads and is used in alot of films and shows
so the 'music'is known if not always the band!
johns youre my best friend was no 16 us but well known, people recognise it...
But, I must ask, how old are you? Queen always sold in the U.S. - not as well as in other countries, that's true. But I was there, I've been there since 1973 with this band, and not every American was or is unable to recognize fabulous stuff. Too many are, it's true. But not all. To say that Queen were "almost unknown" in the U.S. isn't true.
@@markingtime1024 ¡¡¡Poor ignorant¡¡¡

The dressing as women was an idea of John Deacon, based on the English soap Cornation Street, but in the USA this song was not done, so they never returned to the USA because they said f**** them, Freddie’s words 😁
No, not John's idea, it was Roger's girlfriend's idea
I must say, "nice shirts"!! Creativity, humor and mega talent. Freddie said that it wasn't his idea to dress in drag but he was the first to jump into his frocks.
He said they were quick to jump into their frocks quicker than him!
In fact Freddie was the last.
You need more women rockers guys! Suggestion: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, "Do You Wanna
Touch Me? (Oh Yeah)" (1982) & "Dirty Deeds" (1990). Both Great
Covers!
This is the official music video but short version ...a piece is missing
I love your reactions to my fav band Queen how about playing winters tail it's from the album made in heaven just see what you guys think
that song was written by john deacon, not by freddie
The hit is the male perspective on the emancipation of women!!!
I can't be the only one who thought Roger was Lulu in this video.
You will be surprised to know that’s not a guitar solo it’s done on a synthesiser
QWEEN -- impromptu WEMBLEY, the best
Freddie never married a woman. Roger's girlfriend suggested drag as a homage to a British tv show. John Deacon wrote the song. The negative feedback was mtv refused to play it
It’s time for “One Vision” ✨🔥🎼🎤🎸
Try to react scandal is the similar subject about press ..but mutch more powerfull song
The perfect tone was on synthesizer 😉
Radio stations banned this song, and there was such a wave of homophobia BS in the US, that Freddie swore he'd never step foot in the US again, and he didn't. They song was about women gaining rights, not Freddie 'coming out', thus all the guys in drag. Cross dressing is a regular part of British humor. I was so fortunate to see Queen in '82, on what sadly turned out to be their last time in the US.
Freddie was NEVER married.
I love your reactions guys. I recommend you to watch the One Vision music video, then the One Vision making of and then the performance of One Vision in Wembley. It's freaking amazing, you're going to love it!
Yes!!! Thank u😊✌ This was banned in the USA🤨😥 whatever....
The video is a parody of the British soap TV Show 'Coronation Street'.
En estudio lo que se escucha no es la guitarra sino los sintetizadores .
I haven't read every comment, this may already have been mentioned -
in this video, all the people with the lights on their hardhats - that was meant to show solidarity with all working people and specifically with the miners of England who were at the time of this song's release being battered to pieces by Margaret Thatcher and her government. Any and all working people killing themselves in crummy jobs also did and do long to break free.
Hi guys, react the Breakthru song. also the Miracle have a most cute MV ever.
The wonderful John Deacon wrote this song! Apparently about women breaking free , A very feminist song. oh and by the way, Freddie was never married.
I totally understand that Freddie gets most of the attention - I love him too, but there are three other members in this band who are just as magnificent. John Deacon, the bassist, wrote this song that you love so much and you totally neglected to even mention his name once - you pointed out the other three in their drag, and did not mention John. Can I make the suggestion that you do a brief research before you react to a song, even if just to find out who wrote it
(particularly with Queen as all four of them wrote songs) - at the very least it would be polite.
