I love gabby Douglas I miss her competing I hope she makes it to Paris 2024 I loved her in 2012 London and 2016 rio she was so good
PRAYING GABBY GETS GOLD. A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY.
my girls grew up watching Gabby and I believe she can do it and more. We're lucky to have all the powerful gymnast we have competing today.
I think this is the most realistic routine given what we see so far and since she usually has great E score on bars, definitely will score in the high 14's
I want her to bring back her low bar work from 2016 they all were E elements except one.
I don’t think she can do inbars anymore
@@jamesmaxson2306that’s not true she’s been training her in bars
She's much better now. Becoming older brings experience. I have much confidence in her abilities.
Did gymcastics say she showed 6+D on bars and beam at a camp? She's definitely doing a 6.4D bars!
I don’t think Gabby was invited to camp.
@@radiant2052 Not the April one, but she did attend a camp.
Yes she did at November camp
The full twisting giants in l group are absolutely perfect. Deduction less!
Her “corkscrew” flip on the balance beam in probably the most impressive gymnastics move I’ve seen.
Yes I do. a 6.4 is a solid D score but on an international level its only mid but her e score can help her if she competes as we are used to her competing. She would need more in the 6.6 to 6.9 I think to be truly competitive for a medal. I cant wait to see her debut at classics! I do think she could bring a countable score for team on bars and possible other events too. I am super glad its not my responsibility to pick this team. The depth is astounding.
She doesn't need a 6.6+ though it would be super nice to see. There is no other 6.3+D bars in the USA except Shilese, Zoe (not looking Paris ready yet but definitely aiming for LA), and probably Suni.
@@cocoroni1031 Agree for the US she doesnt need it I had said for international. All those bars specialists out there to be a contender she will need more. I totally think she adds to the team score.
@@erinames7783 Agree what you said. I'd be very satisfied with an extra consistent high 14 - low 15 bars routine. Would love to add a few more tenths with consistency on this highest scoring event in team final. Individual medal on bars is a bonus.
Simone might put in the Shang which could get her to 6.3, and there is also Skye possibly with a Healy. But I think Gabby execution should give her an advantage
Excellent points! I am excited to see her return and bars is definitely her strongest event to return on.
Even with just a 6.2-6.4 SV, maybe low comparative to other International specialists, but her execution is always so crisp and clean.
I can see her going 8.6+ execution on bars.
If she can do that then she’ll easily be scoring 14.9-15+.
Which the US can definitely use.
😀😀😀
Lookin' Gold Gabby!!! 🤩🥰
Imagine a team wit Gabby and Simone together!
Gabby, Suni and Shi in a team final could really set USA ahead on bars in a team final - if another big floor score comes with Simone in a team final scenario then USA has another team gold in the making.
I totally agree
Totally realistic. And she has such good execution, that this could easily go 8.6+ when she hits, and possibly may be the only exercise in the world on any apparatus other than vault that can score 9.0.
Yes ❤
I love Gabby, and I think she is a stunning athlete, but it seems like the Olympic dream is slipping away maybe a little. And that's heartbreaking. It's April, and she hasn't competed once. I hope things go smoother in the future.
She's not slipping away. USA still needs her high scoring bars and possibly beam.
@cocoroni1031 I don't think Gabby or her skills are "slipping away." She is a world-class gymnast. My point here was that there are very few competitions between now and trials, so it will be more difficult to get to the Olympics. Shes going to have to be ON every time for every competition. This post wasn't meant to slight her skills at all she's amazing. Her bars? Earth shattering. Just the time gap is closing quickly, and she still hasn't competed. I'm just worried that she won't have enough time. I'm rooting for her to get there again. But she also does now have competition on bars- Shilese and Suni. Trials are going to be wild I truly have no idea who is going to make it. But she definitely has a shot. I believe in her.
@@aliepatchik8277 There is always a spot for her if she is consistent and can score mid to high 14 on bars. 2022-2024 is a bars quad.
@@aliepatchik8277absolutely bars is where she is definitely needed! USA 🇺🇸 has really gotten weak on bars even beam too!
@cocoroni1031 I completely agree. If she sticks her consistency, which she's great at, she's definitely got a good shot. I feel like this post came off as I don't like or respect Gabby. She is a trailblazer. I only said my initial statement because we haven't seen her perform anything yet and she has to hit every time. But I think she has a good chance of doing that. Just weird things keep happening that kept her out of competition, like with COVID. I hope her upcoming competitions are all good so she can be strong and solid for trials.
I want her to qualify so bad! I’m loving that gymnast are coming back to elite and being successful. Chuso has done it eight times. I want her to qualify too even though it looks like time and more difficult skills aren’t on her side this year. Good luck ladies!
I feel she can do better... hopefully she gets the chance too..
I expect and want more than 6.4😄 esp having Valeri as coach- making dismount front double half would be E then 6.5..connecting pak to chow would be 6.6..or keeping E dismount and placing Healy and ling before front double dismount instead of jaeger and have toe 1/1 with chow half-e, I think would be 6.7 same value as Suni or Shi's if she does all her upgrades
Valeri is bad at coaching bars dismount. Look at Konnor and Hezly Rivera.
@@cocoroni1031 but this gabby like nastia had front double 1/2
@@choochoo9999 Nastia's dismount wasn't that good either .. ☠☠
Gabs!
I’m hoping she does an inbar 1/1 to Downie. It would bump her start value up to 6.6
I don’t think she can do inbars anymore
@@jamesmaxson2306 huh? You know this how?
@@chimao215 They didn't say they "knew", they said they "think". Considering that she's much older and hasn't shown any inbars in any of her recent training videos, it's a perfectly reasonable assumption.
I'm not from the U.S., can someone advise when we will likely know the lineup of the U.S. team? What sort of timeline are we looking at?
That aside, would be great to see Gabby back at the Olympics. Curious about what her beam/floor routines are.
The wont be announced until probably a few weeks or max a month before Olympics. They always wait until the last minute to pick the strongest most balanced and healthiest team.
The team will be announced at the US Olympic Trials around the end of June. Not sure of the exact date so just give it a google search. :)
Trials are June 28 and 30 for women and June 27 and 29 for men. Teams are usually announced at the end of the second night with drama on the women’s side.
How do they do that turn on one arm on the top bar?
I wish she would connect the pak to the chow and do a full twist dismount in combination but oh well.
She came back exceptionally faultless!!!!
This is a realistic routine, but only assuming that Gabby is in peak form to compete it. Based on the fact that we haven’t seen a full routine from Gabby since her comeback, let alone an appearance at a camp or competition, I don’t think the timing will line up for her. I’m afraid we may see a repeat of Nastia’s attempted UB comeback at 2012 Nationals.
She’s going to classics so save your thoughts and assumptions until you actually see her compete 🥱
@@HazelAmarie I’ll meet you back here in the comment section then 🫡
@@capriciousstudent For sure lol

Gabby has a good legacy already. But like a lot of Champions, it’s hard to move on. Although I’m just an average person, when it was time for me to move on from my job, I decided to stay on. I stayed on and ran into so many painful problems that haunt me until this day. Sometimes we don’t want to move, but it’s for our good. When one door closes, that’s because something greater awaits us! I only wish her the best!!❤❤❤
I hope she'll go to the olympics to take finally an individual bars medal 🤩, she's so fantastic on this event but her inconsistencies and especially her lower D score always prevented her to be on the podium
Im hoping she does a little more challenging dismount.
Valari didn't give Konnor a D dismount, and Hezly often bombed her FTDT ☠. I hope Gabby will break that pattern.
The down side to a more difficult dismount is the tenths you gain in d value you lose in e score. So it would need to be very secure and clean for it to be worth doing. But for sure its an area she could bolster up the d score.
@@erinames7783 most definitely but I think she needs to show growth or something a little bit harder. Maybe not immediately but if she makes the Olympic team, I think she needs something more.
@@cocoroni1031 🤞🏼🤞🏼 we can only hope 🤞🏼🤞🏼
@@charleyanneas is, her bars likely put her on the u.s. medal podium or just off. top bars is shilese, suni, zoe miller, skye and gabby. i could throw simone in there too.
Very realistic
I think she needs more difficulty. Bars is her best event, so she needs to go ALL OUT here! She needs a 7.0D score. I want her to medal. Bars is too competitive for this D-Score
She doesn't need that. A consistent 6.4D is enough. ROC cleared USA with 6.3 / 6.3 / 6.4 bars last quad.
@@cocoroni1031 that was last quad. And it isn’t enough when you have more than 3 bars specialists doing 6.8D and up.
@@sagemoonchild333 It is enough. USA doesn't need an inconsistent 6.8D bars but three 6.3+D consistent and efficient bars. ROC's bars are boring but they are incredibly efficient and low chance of falling.
@@cocoroni1031 oh I see now. You are talking about a team medal and I’m speaking individually. I want her to make event finals and medal, not just contribute to team.
What's the difference between a Healy and a Ling? The two skills look identical to me? Different grips maybe?
healy is front giant from reverse to l grip and ling is front giant from l gr to l gr..i think correct me if im wrong but training vid shows a ling instead of another one lol which is ono..l gr to rv grip i dont see the arm flourish of a ono so i think it’s a ling..also in another training vid, she pauses to show perfect handstand which in itself is amzing (look at the chinese lings) but maybe the next skill is not a release but an endo l gr! 😮
QUESTION: Is she going to be allowed to actually compete for a spot on the Olympic Team??
Yes, if she gets the qualifying score. She has the American Classics and Core to qualify.
Wouldn't it be easier if she performed a Van Leeuwen instead of the Chow 1/2? Idk they're both rated E no? Also, seems like it would be easier to connect a Van Leeuwen from the pak salto too.
It's a nice routine, but I'd be a little bumbed out if she doesn't do inbars anymore. Might she add an inbar to her routine?
Don't see it happening, sorry. Sure, she is showing snippets of training videos- but it's just snippets.
Who exactly is showing full routines?
I've been out of the gymnastics loop, but will Russia be able to compete and if so, do you think they would stand a chance to metal? I would love to see Gabby back, but I understand the US is stacked full of talent.
No Russia. They have zero chance to compete this year lol.
Russian athletes are allowed to compete in most sports aa long as rhey haven't shown.amy affiliation to the war in Ukraine, ie, not demonstaion of pro-invasion. Personally, I think it's a tad hypocritical when Israeli athletes have bo such conditions - given the Israeli government has violated multiple war conventions
@@anovemberstar Israel doesn't violate Olympic truce. How many times did Russia violate? Three f-ing times! Russians have no business staying in Paris.
As much as I've loved Gabby's gymnastics in the past, I continue to suspect she started her comeback push about one season too late to be peaking at the Olympics -- she is just too out of practice as a competitor ....
She started her comeback 2 years ago. That is more than ENOUGH time. Those who were unsuccessful in their comebacks woke up one morning and said they wanted to come back and the Olympics were a month away.
I’m glad she’s back because Biles makes me sick!
UGH you have carried your trash opinion from track and field to here? Lord help us.
