It seems a lot of gymnasts are in that mind set and very mature. Plus less injuries and higher quality of the movements too. Probably because the former coaches are removed from the program and the sexual scandal came to light. The one thing that bothered me the most was the camps that took away the parents from being protective of their child. A predator’s playground.

I think she’s got it from watching her in the past. I know she’s got that determination and hard work that will get her that goal of getting that metal.
If I remember correctly was it that she did poorly or was she disqualified because of the 2 person per country rule? I feel like she had a good showing, but she was overshadowed by the politics and icy reception from a specific teammate who became the new darling and basically made her old teammates freeze her out during that Olympic cycle.

@@murasakino101 Not only the things you mentioned, but she was being attacked by fans of one of the other athletes who didn't make the team, and I won't mention names as it is in the past. Those fans were relentless in their hate, bashing her for any and everything.

It's even more sad when a certain athlete literally posted a monkey emoji online towards her and people turned a blind eye to it due to controversial comments Gabby made before and because they felt like "it was warranted since Gabby shouldn't have been on the team" despite her being the reigning Olympic AA champion smh. I could go on but there's no need to. I'm just glad she found her love for the sport again and I pray people will treat her better this time

She's right about the ageism in Women's gymnastics. I remember watching Cathy Rigby and Olga Korbut growing up. Women gymnasts were done by their late teens or early 20s they competed in college. Not anymore.
Agreed and comebacks were rare we had 3 from 92 compete in Atlanta but after that 2 in 2000, but from 04-12 no one, it wasn’t til Aly in 2016 that things started to change on the Olympic front

Gabby is the reason I started doing gymnastics, seeing her at her first Olympics took my breath away… 10+ years later and I’m now a gymnastics coach and it’s so amazing to see her come back to the sport again 🥹

She still have it although it takes much practice to get back use to it . And age 28 means nothing right now . Her body is adjusting well back to it and she wants this again and I hear the joy and excitement in her voice . So I her all the best and Gabby give it your all . Don’t let anyone shoot you down .
