You could tell she was losing energy on the low bar. I'm not surprised this happened. Too much in the routine for such a young gynnast. I was so sad when I saw the end.
@@rollitonhomeshe definitely wasn’t ready. She should have practiced the routine longer before competing it. The worst injuries happen when a gymnast doesn’t have the confidence in themselves. She didn’t look confident at all.

I really hate people who judge gymnasts who cry even when not hurt. It doesn't matter. The falls are SCARY. That's valid enough. No one could possibly ever know if they weren't a gymnast. Your life literally flashes before your eyes and it's even scarier when you're falling on your neck or you're falling and can't stop yourself.
You could see that she doesn’t have a lot of strength left halfway though. She was fighting to get up on every move! Ouch! What a fall! Glad that she’s ok.
I’ve done that in my bar routine. My couch tried her best to catch me. She said I was letting go of the bar too soon.. I’m glad she’s okay. She did a beautiful job.
She started struggling on that handstand on the high bar at 0:13. She's a delightful young gymnast but that routine was far too advanced for her. Thank God she wasn't seriously hurt, she could have easily broken her neck.
Wow that was scary! I could tell that she must have been tired because of all the energy she expended on the low bar, but I didn't expect her to fly off her dismount. Was she trying to attempt a double layout? I would rather she ended a fly away dismount, instead.
omg that’s so scary. i hope and pray to her that she didn’t get hurt. that must’ve been really tough and i hope that she didn’t get a mental block on that.
I don't know much about gymnastics but it looks like she missed a connection from the low bar to the high bar, which made her routine longer, so she was tired sooner
You know, from her first giant on the high bar when she stops in rotation at the top of the bar - she has a quick moment where it looks like she is about to let go of her form and then straightens her arms back up and carries on - I felt like that was a big tell of what’s to come, like she did not have the strength to pull off the whole routine. So when she transitioned to the low bar ; all her moves looked clean (her body was always straight and her toes were pointed), but I thought there was NO WAY she was making it back up to the high bar. There’s NO POWER left in that body ! I guess she had enough to get that one last push back to the high bar but that was that. 😢 All that hard work getting ready for this competition to have it end like that 😮 I hope she isn’t injured bad❤
2 giants before the last, she has some sort of tap, but the one prior, she comes down with none. Is that normal? There was nothing the coach could have done, but his body language on the dismount tells me that she has had issues with the dismount before. I don't like crashes, and when she got through the set, I though, great, it's on the dismount. Women recover from crashes, when guys wouldn't (due to weight and flexibility). I wonder if this makes for a greater acceptance of risk with women. Beam is the worst, where the gymnast will land on her head, get up and walk away with a coach; whereas, a coach would tell a guy to stay down, until help arrives.
She looked like she was feeling sick. Idk if nerves, water/electrolyte imbalance, not enough food or a virus, but those bobbles look like when you have the numbers & muscle memory but something is wrong metabolically with nerve signaling.
I’ve watched gymnastics all my life. I am now 65, and I realize they are just babies. I’ve watched many gymnastic injuries on UA-cam. Why? It taught me the dangers of each event. I now have a greater respect for the sport. But the girls are pushed and pressured causing depression and anxiety and many small injuries. Yes, this little one was LUCKY!!!!!
Yikes, that was absolutely frightening.Thank god she didn't break her neck. I think she needs way more time and practice because stamina wise. She looked like she was dying before she was halfway through. It was a difficult routine that she might not be quite ready for.
This kind of stuff is so scary. I worked as a RN for 20 years, much of that with patients with various neurological injuries. One young woman had been in a car wreck, and thought nothing was wrong. Her neck was sore, but nothing major. But it kept up. She got it x-rayed about 2 weeks later, and had what is called a "C-1-2 rotary subluxation", where the very top vertebrae are twisted AND moved horizontally. A sneeze could have killed her, or left her a vent dependent quadriplegic. She was in a special immobilization bed for over a month before it was safe to stabilize her surgically. Nothing is worth that. It's understandable that any athlete wants to advance, but it must be done carefully.
I don’t think this routine is too much for her age. People a lot older than her are making mistakes. So what’s their excuse.? She fell. It happens. She practiced that routine non stop at practice and I’m sure did fine multiple times.
How much do these young gymnastics have to be pushed? Always expected to do more and better than previous generations of gymnastics. It's scary to watch gymnastics with bandages wrapped around their wrists and ankles. I knew a woman in her early 40s at the time, who had serious back pain because when she was a teenager and young adult, she was a gymnast. And all the training and competition did serious damage to her back and neck. I hope this young girl learns to just enjoy the sport and have fun, without pushing herself with intense training and competition. Gymnastics needs to be more like dance, and just be fun.
Damn that was scary! She missed her transition back up to the high bar and looms to me like she got a lil confused then did extra elements on the low bar to get herself back together and get back up to the high bar, but wore herself out and by the time the dismount came she was exhausted.
She is lucky she landed how/where she did. She landed in the perfect place for her body to be protected but her face not hit the floor. Not quite ready for that much in a routine.
If you go to any domestic national qualifier anywhere in the world, you would see stuff like this at all of them. But other places in the world don't post every single routine from every gymnast like they do in the US.
What I never understand is how parents see something like this and let their child go back to the gym. Like, seriously, as a parent, you know there is life after gymnastics. If you saw your son or daughter very nearly end up in a wheelchair for life, how could you just brush that off and let them go back to doing the activity that almost took everything from them? (Also, note to self, find a way to get youtube to stop recommending gymnastics to me, I regularly feel so guilty to be supporting this sport when it leads to so many injuries, so many live with pain from HS age on)
