A wonderful and invaluable listing...thank you so very much! 🥰
My heart flutters with excitement as each song plays. The world doesn't know what its missing by not hearing these gems. They should be played from roof tops.
I agree Tonya and hopefully more people will discover this channel and the great music from these bygone days. Thank you for watching the channel Tonya.
@@pax41 Well, I've discovered it!!
"Wont you stay for tea" -- how wonderfully British. It was a time of gentility and manners.
Now Gone With the Wind, as Margaret Mitchell would say
Larry that song is one of my favorites and I have another version by Harry Roy posted. Your comment on manners is a hoot! You must be a lot of fun since you have all of these zingers. Thank you as always my friend!
Brilliant indeed! :)
Larry Hagemann I’m thankful for You Tube and for this channel where this elegant music of a bygone era can be rediscovered and once again enjoyed and appreciated.
Lovely to see this music preserved for future generations. My father was a musician who began playing in dance bands in
1927, thus this was the type of music he played. My father passed away in 1995 at the age of 89, but I still hear him playing
Great family history.
Everybody was once young and good looking even if they weren't musos. If they don't ,or didn't get to 89 it won't be because they didn't try.
Lovely warm comment, Kenny.
Music from when my parents were children. My English mum sang all of these, dancing around the kitchen, with all us kids laughing and thinking she was so silly and wuaint. Now hearing these makes me smile a bittersweet smile. So, "won't you stay to tea?"
Makes me nostalgic for a past I never knew.
British dance bands are the best. Thanks for them.

One of my favourite dance orchestras of the era. Never hit a bad note. After all, he saw in Al Bowlly what was needed by everybody.
I just love all those songs, inspite I wasn't even born when they were played. wonderful time were those days weren't?
I USED TO SING THIS TO MY WIFE " I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT I STILL DO " EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS LONG LEFT ME, :) THANK YOU AGAIN "PAX" FOR THE MEMORIES.
How long has your wife been gone if you don't mind me asking? Glad you are enjoying all of these my friend.
SHE LEFT ME SEVEN YEARS AGO "PAX: IT FEELS LIKE TODAY SHE WENT AWAY I WAS NOT WITH HER TO HOLD HER IN MY ARMS AND COMFORT HER LAST MOMENTS I MISSED HER BY ONE HOUR AND I AM SURE SHE CALLED FOR ME, SINCE THEN ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS HAVE DIED, FRIEND, AND NOW YOUR MUSIC IS THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS ME HERE, THANK YOU AGAIN DEAR FRIEND AND KEEP THE JOY YOU GIVE US GOING THANK YOU :)")")
You still have friends here!

My Great Aunt Norah worked there in London at this time and ‘stepped out’ with the Italian Head Waiter!
Enchanting music
Thanks
Really like this music -- the syncopation and all!
My very favorite era of 🎙🎼🎶🎵music! OMGosh I'm SO happy! 📣🎼🎵🎶 THANK YOU FOR SHARING 📻🇺🇸
Your music playlist posts have lifted me up all the 'Covid-all the time world' now. I put this on and laugh at all of the non-sense. Why fear the flu when you can grab a glass of champagne and dance around the room?!! Seriously, this music is a life saver!! Thank you again and again. Off to a Martini and more of your music- and of course, LOTS of dancing. Wee Hoo! Love to all.
You are welcome and thank you for watching the channel.
Agree! Happy music lifts our spirits compared to the dreary dirges they churn out today. No wonder people are miserable with the 24/7 misery on BBC. Switch off the tv and dance to this I say!
Greetings from New Zealand. Fantastic ! I wasnt even born then but I love this music. Reminds me of another time and place...my mother and father and auntys and uncles and when we were young and care free.
Greeting from the Lone Star State of Texas SJC COW, glad to have folks from down under watching!
Super ❤ super big ok 😅
Bob these are indeed! TOO DIE FOR! The First time I have heard most all of them!! And I LOVE THEM! I Have "Indispensable You" And that is it!!!
London in the 30s -- a place to enjoy great dance band music. Thanks, Pax41.
So much fun employment for fine musicians in those days! They brought sunshine to many amidst the dark canvas about to enfold.
Thank you for these gems!
Glad you enjoyed them la suspenda and thank you for watching the channel.
This music is splendid!
Adore this music! This has always made me happy! It is my style completely ever since I was a little girl even though I never knew these times.. Thank you!
Another fine band, (weren`t they all?) from that glorious era when so many individual sounds and styles within the dance band framework - (for a desperate need of a better description!) I never get tired of listening to all those tireless performances -- although I bet the players DID get very tired . Pleas from the audience for just one more number - or from the manager, "There will be a bit extra if you can just give us an extra hour!" Or that sort of scenario!
This wonderful music makes Saturday Night at home perfect down here in Wellington,New Zealand. Many thanks 😊
Glad you liked it and awesome to have another person from New Zealand watching!
Simply sensational selection of British gems!

This set is a reminder of how fun it would have been to be on the scene for that first "Swingin' London." Splendid stuff -- my favorites are Noble's "Clouds," Taub's" Who Walks In," Carroll's "Summer Night," Joyce's "When Lights Are Low" and Merrin's "I Couldn't Help It."

I am on cloud 9 after hearing Al Bowlly singing Clouds, funny enough track 9 ... Eric Whitley is also in fine voice on track 11. Also its always great to hear Bertini & his band even if the copy is a little worn.
Thank you is the least I can say. It's a priceless record (lol) of the history of popular band music and compositi9on from the 20s and 30s and more. It's extremely important to keep alive.
Thanks for this stylish music.
would have loved to grown up in that magical era!
It looks a lot better than our current situation.

Hi from Greece!
Hello there!
The best music in the world! May I ask, who are your favorite composers? There are some truly enchanting pieces that many don't know anymore. The 1930s is my absolute favorite era in music. I never grow tired of it, and return again and again to your fabulous videos! Thank you again!
Always a pleasure to hear from you Jenny and glad you don't grow tired of the music. As for my favorite song writers, some of my favorites are Cole Porter, Mack Gordon and Harry Revel (these two wrote some of my all time favorites) Noel Coward, Irving Berlin and of course George and Ira Gershwin. I have long felt we owe a debt of gratitude to the Jewish community for the great musical legacy they have given us. As I am sure you know, the list is quite extensive.
you know... i wouldnt mind if someone made an old club bar like there was in the 1930/1940's
I bet there may be one somewhere.
@@pax41 i sure hope so
This is an awesome compilation! Thanks

Aaaahhhhh! I love this music🥰
British bands are some of my favorites but then two Americans lead those bands too. I speak of Carroll Gibbons and Roy Fox.
Rare gems...!
Thanks bro..
Welcome Dan!
Incredibly this was music still being played on the radio in 1950, cause I was living in grandma and grandpa's house so that was what was played along with country western and Mexican music.
💃👠💃👠💃👠💃💖
OOPS !!! Omitted to insert track #16 as one I am fond of.
Que agradable esta música antigua. Me da energía y alegría.
Me alegra que estés disfrutando la música de Matilde y gracias por mirar.

Al Bowlly & Jack Hylton...had never heard 3 Ginx before..wowee
Шикарно!
I bet, there is not even one guy, born later than the 80s, who would like to and be able to dance to these tunes with a 90s girl! Heartbreaking...
There are a number of guys born in the 80's and 90's that watch the channel. Now, can they dance to this?
maravilloso
Good numbers Bob, thanks
Great to hear from you Neil and glad you enjoyed the selection. Have a great day Neil!
Awesome!!!
Glad you liked the selection Tiga and thank you for watching the channel.
Love /////Queen were influenced greatly by this music as was Paul McCartney........Got any Noel Coward? Cheers!
I do have some of Noel's compositions posted here. I think I have only posted one with him singing. Are you a fan of Leslie Hutchinson?
@@pax41 Will look that up as the answer is no! Cheers! Great channel!
Great selection. Every one a winner !! I am particularly fond of tracks and #17.
Is Sam Browne the vocalist on track #10 ?
Thank you for sharing this fine presentation.
Walter Gray : I'd bet a £ to a 1d. that it is.
Al Dubin...
