At age 14 in 1958 who wanted to hear this old folk music. Now at 75 guess I am an old folk. I can't get enough of this music. Makes me think of my mom and dad who would have danced to this music at the Casino on Mount Beacon New York.
@@pax41 Thank you for the reply. If you remember back in the old days we did not respect the rights and opinions of a number of our fellow Americans of color. A free and sane society was not granted to all at that time.
When listening to this melodious and rhythmical music it makes me realize that we´ve gone back to the caves. No musical ideas, no rhythm nowadays, not only in the USA but all over the Western culture. No more beautiful tangos, pasodobles, rumbas, fox-trots. The crisis is universal. A vomit. The classics are my weakness but I've always appreciated popular music WHEN IT'S WORTH LISTENING TO IT. No more. Except, of course, when listening to these lovely tunes of a by-gone era.
Peter, you may like this Live Stream post I did a month ago. It's 2 hours of music and lots of British dance band music. ua-cam.com/video/r1mJg1wt-mY/v-deo.html
I will be broadcasting 3 Live shows tomorrow. They will be at 10AM, 2PM and 5PM Central time and each will feature a different period of music. Hope you can tune in.
The more I listen to this wonderful vintage music, and become increasedly enchanted and delighted by it, the more I urgently desire to throw all the trashy and downright dirty caterwaulings of the past 3 decades into the garbage bin --- where they belong! Thanks so much for uploading! Love from Java, Indonesia!
Lovely music for a Sunday night like this one. Sunshine the whole day, the smell of barbecued meat in the air, lights going on one by one. And that for October 15th, feels more like a balmy evening late May.
Thanks for your well wishes Bob. Ive had a hip replacement four weeks ago, but I'm recovering quite rapidly actually. Maybe it's partly because of the superb music you and a number of other musical friends have uploaded. I'm having so much fun listening that I hardly have time left to mope and groan (i'm not that type of person anyhow, I'm a seasoned optimist). The wonderful autumn weather also helps a lot. I catch any opportunity to go outdoors and enjoy seeing people and making new music friends. By the way I've worked my way through your KPAX41 playlist! It was quite a job but I've enjoyed listening to every single one of them. I do intend to transfer, restore and upload some more of the 20s and 30s piano music from my collection. I now finally have a set-up that is good enough to fulfill my rather severe standards. In the mean time let's both live life to the fullest and enjoy!
Just when my spirits need lifting, Frank Luther comes to the rescue and gets my toes tapping. This is a great tonic, potions dished out by the the great musicology doctor, Pax41!

Marvelous set -- Kemp's "Night Owl," Jimmy Carr's "A Little Bit Independent" and Johnny Hamp's "Never Should Have Told You" are terrific, but best of all, for me, is Lown's "I'm Yours" -- I love that song and this version is out of this world!
