I remembered being able to drive straight through, but never noticed that the two levels were so similar for set up, with one viable and the other not. I was struggling with the truck YOLO for an hour before I gave up and beat the level the intended way. Thanks for clearing it up.
EVA: "Make sure you get these trucks to safety!" RC, to truck: "ok safety is right past the road so if you could just drive right on over that'd be nice k thx"
the North route seems much easier compared to RA1 classic, I recall a lot more usage of the other units to cover for the truck but this time it seems like either the physics is slightly different so the truck can dodge better or something
Just noticed at the end that the truck just zooms when it hits the road. Do those road textures really affect speed or was that the truck's acceleration kicking in hitting a straight line?
In TD the terrain also affects the speed, at least according to the extracted rules.ini. For example grass vs roads: ; clear grassy terrain [Clear] Foot=90% Track=80% Wheel=60% Float=0% Buildable=yes ; roads [Road] Foot=100% Track=100% Wheel=100% Float=0% Buildable=yes
@@TheCNCChannel I highly encourage you to try it. The gameplay has a lot of strategic depth, and every Ra unit has its own battlefield usefulness (not just tank spam) and rewarding learning curve (artilleries are hard to use but do a lot of dmg, tank battles require move-and-shoot). Definitely very fun to play, especially when you sneak into Soviet base as a Tanya in a Phase Tank, trying to kill all the defenders before they can disarm your C4 charge that will blow up the building for the rest of the game. Or doing a shockie/flamer rush in a Chinook. Or escorting a cruiser on its way to level a Soviet base, against Migs and subs. Here is a typical gameplay video: ua-cam.com/video/LhbJs7ifNB4/v-deo.html
Stalin's hand gesture at 0:41 has always struck me as odd. I think for a moment there he might've forgotten his lines.
That's the hand that wants to strangle someone, and also because he is raging.
You may return!
Even though I sold the Phase Transport?
@@TheCNCChannel We will discuss this later.

Not one minute, but 8 seconds
Totally caught of guard by the first run just running through. Brilliant

Reminds me on how the professor solves the mathematical problem compared to the students way 🤦♂️
Wow that first one was super fast and clean.

Not sure, I think the units (including the truck) are dumber on Remastered

The road speeds it up
Neat!
You'll see similar with Allied Rangers when they get to actual roads compared to regular terrain and god help them trying to ford rivers
In TD the terrain also affects the speed, at least according to the extracted rules.ini. For example grass vs roads:
; clear grassy terrain

Foot=90%

@@GerbenWijnja Gotta love buildable grass and roads. My favorite buildings.

Have you played Red Alert: A Path Beyond?
Of course. And EA decided to remove it from the ladder because the nubs whined about it
