I "blame" JMJ for why I'm such a multiculturalist. I was a kid when I watched this concert on TV and *_it fucking blew my mind._* I became obsessed with this song ever since, it's the perfect blend of east and west, of tradition and modernity.
Multiculturalism is an ideological twisted fiction, much like communism was a horrible experiment in social mechanics. Cultures have thrived in history by being open and interacting, not by self-destructing into a soup of nihilistic nothingness. Wake up.

Extraordinary conclusion for this amazing composition... pure paroxysm and ecstasy from the Arabic faster and faster violins and soloist with insane passionate percussion!!!
30 YEARS ANIVERSARY. I sincerely wonder where is "that Jarre". I wish he would be as revolutionary as then. I love the culture fusion here. GENIUS on more fields than music.
That Jarre is very much here, prolific and contemporary as ever. The guy is in his 70s, looking as 45 year old, making great albums and still kicking butt, now with his virtual concerts.
He has created AMAZONIA. A mental journey. He released Oxigene III which is awesome and made the first massive virtual concert ever in VR technology. What else can he produce?? Is popular art that has changed. He has had ups and downs but ALWAYS in an interesting way. God bless Jarre.
Empowering and Elating, Jarre was my musical inspiration as a teenager and helped to bond a very special 1st relationship with mutual audio tastes. On to the present and still immensely impressive in both his mueic art and his amazing abilities to communicate environmental and political social messages with much needed force and clarity. I think a Chronology 'Fin Absolute' addition is most required.

Восхитительно!!! Как можно соединить несоиденяемое?! Элетроника и народная музыка- это нечто невозможное,но в этом случае получился шедевр.! Спасибо за кайф ,который я получила!
There's something very frightening about this song to me. It's the words, and the robotic voice. I've never felt afraid of a song in my five decades, but this one makes my skin crawl with unease.

Here are examples of Sounds etc used in JMJ album Revolutions played from Roland D-50 :
Jean Michel Jarre "Révolutions" (Disques Dreyfus ©1988 / 837 421-1)

Certainly one of the best reference for D-50 users: JMJ simply used that synth for over 80% of this album. Here are just some examples:
- "Révolution industrielle: Ouverture" (Track 1): you can clearly hear a modified version of the Geerdes "Machine Run" patch as rythmic loop FX in the introduction. Roland PND-50-01 "Griitttarr 2" patch is used as a lead sound.
Orchestral strings are played using PA-Decoder "ORCHESTER PHILAMON" patch:

- "Révolution industrielle: Part 1" (Track 2): Michael Hotop's SoundSet 8 patches "YAMATANO OROCHI" and "--KOKUBOSTRINGS--" have been used in this part. The first one during the introduction as a strange FX (background solo line have been certainly played with the Roland PN-D50-01 "Squeeze de Sax" patch):

The second one as a rythmic strings section for the end of this song:

- "Révolution industrielle: Part 2" (Track 3): Leister Volume 3 patch "Analog Chop" is used for a complex sequenced line:

- "Révolution industrielle: Part 3" (Track 4): PA-Decoder Volume 1 patch "ATARI 1040 ST 5" is used as a special FX to close the song (0'09''):

- "Computer Week-End " (Track 8): EMC Volume 1 patch "Ocean Scenario" is used as a voicey lead sound with plucked attack. Michael Hotop's SoundSet 8 patch "--KOKUBOSTRINGS--" is used as the rythmic strings section comping part:

- "September " (Track 9): PA-Decoder Volume 3 patch "ANALOG 01" is used as a lead sound:

And these are only a few examples...
You think musicians can't use presets ?
Vangelis used CS-80 presets too and more recently some romplers too.
