Good job man! I always enjoyed changing oil myself so at least I know everything's done properly.

Nice video thank you. I think the underneath covers is for noice reduction. Previous year mazda 6 are famous to be really loud inside the car

Have you had any issues with that plate/panel underneath being gone since you’ve had it? Mine started hanging off this morning and I’m thinking about just removing it until I can find time to fix it next week.

The Fram “Ultra Synthetic” Filter is much better than the Wix filter.
Fram captures 20 microns compared to the Wix which is rated at 35-40 microns. Big difference.

Actually with oil filters the smaller the particles it captures the slower it actually filters meaning more oil bypasses the filter since filters do not filter 100% of engine oil all the time. Also cheaper oil filters tend to have less filter media in them, which means they stop filtering sooner as they can simply hold less particles, and lose efficiency much faster. Add in again the more particles it filters the faster it fills up and stop filtering.
That said the Fram ultra synthetic filter is a good filter but pretty much everything but the Fram orange, and tough series are good. Those 2 frams have dirty cardboard media caps. The best oil filter however is Mobil 1 filter but as long as someone is changing them on time a basic Super Tech oil filter does everything it needs to do.

Remember to let the oil drain a couple of minutes

I thought oil for this can go 10k miles

It does say it can be changed at 10k if you want. The oil is pretty dirty and burnt up by then. I would rather just spend a little time to change in and prolong engine life.

    I'd recommend using disposable gloves.
