I 100% agree with you, as the oil filter is mounted upwards. For the video had to skip that step didn't want to spill half of the oil on me by showing the rubber stuff and talking 😂
Interesting. I've never done that before. I suppose it would help build oil pressure faster, however I can see the pressure pretty much right away without priming the filter.
Great video and awesome detailed explanation. I am a beginner at performing work on my own vehicle and your presentation was very specific and extremely helpful. Quick question can you give me the size or part number of the crush washer that you used so I can purchase one, thank you Anthony
Glad this video could help you out. If I'm not wrong, almost any crush washers would work, but here are the diameters I bought. Outer diam: 20mm Inner diam: 14mm Thickness: 1.5mm
You are welcome. Good luck with working on the car. Top tip from me. Don't get discouraged from working on your car, the job can look huge and daunting, but split it into smaller objectives, so it's easier to achieve and you will get satisfaction from doing it 👍
I have a yellow original mark on the engine cover, which oil should be there, and I don't look at any website, and I don't ask the store, because I already know exactly what oil there should be. ACEA C1 / JASO DL-1 Mazda 6 2.2l 120kw diesel 2008y
Hi Klavs, is it normal finding oil in the bottom of the plastic housing (below the filter) ? I had a look at mine and I found a bit in it . Just new to Mazda Cars . Thanks for the videos , by any chance, do you have one on how to replace the oxygen sensor ? Greetings from Australia
Hi, ctydecks. Oil on the belly pan or the plastic means you have an oil leak somewhere. That plastic shouldn't have any oil on it. Try to where is the oil leak. Glad you enjoying the videos, I don't have a video about it, but I add it to the list of things to record if you want. Oh, awesome Australia. I would love to visit Australia 👍
Hey! Have you came across any oil leak in your car? I have Mazda 6 GH 2009 2.0 Diesel and saw some oil leak beneath the passenger side of the car. I checked the engine oil and there is no oil on the dip stick as well. Would you know any probable cause of this happening? Any information would help, thanks!
What's your view about the reliability & maintenance of this car, including fuel consumption? Lastly, What's your mileage now? I'm actually considering buying this car as a 2nd hand car. RSA
Parts for the Mazda can be expensive, but if the car had regular servicing and the timing chain or timing belt has been changed, there shouldn't be any problems. On fuel it all depends how you drive, (I have petrol engine) and with my heavy foot /driving to allowed speed ( Not economy), I average 22 mpg to 26 mpg. Last highway drive got me to 32 mpg, but that was on a busy highway. If I remember correctly 201800 miles or so.
it all depends from what options you got in your Mazda, some have an oil resert switch near the steering wheel, some need you to plug in the service / obd tool to clear the light
Hey. I'm from UK so idk if the link will help you, but more carefully check out the oil filters. Some of them come with a washer included. At least here in UK it does.
I used to own Opel Insignia 2011 and all I needed for oil change is to unscrew ONE single screw. I'm baffled that now I own Mazda 6gh and I have to go through this unnecessary maze of multiple layers and screws to just simply change oil. And I thought Japanese engineering was way more advanced than the European. 😑
😂 I would like to agree with you, but sadly I can't, the belly pan and plastic covers have saved my oil pan from grinding on the ground and having an bent / holed oil pan. To drain the oil is pretty simple, the only problem is the oil filter. BMW e46 was the same, 1 cover on the bottom and a top filter.
I 100% agree with you. Nowadays there isn't any difference in what ''brand'' of oil you use. The only difference is in the additives. Same as BMW uses Castrol from the factory, Mazda uses Total, Rolls-Royce uses Shell oil, and so on. In the end, as long as you use the right velocity oil you ''should'' be fine.
I personally think you need way more of an audience the amount of detail and work you go through man. Good work.
Thank you, if the UA-cam algorithm allows, then these videos should reach more people
It’s brilliant
👌👌👌😇😉
Thanks for creating this video.. Well-done 👏
👍 You are welcome
Great work. You forgot something: before mounting the filter, it should be filled up with new oil.

Hi Klavs,
Have you done a video on how to change the brake oil before?
Hi.
Break fluid replacements and brake bleeding will be coming out next year
hi nice video, could you please show your jacket brand and model? it looks like a good one, thanks!
Hi. Thank you. 😅 have to inform you it isn't a expensive one. It's a Primark sweater. I don't think they sell this anymore.

If remember right the Mazda manual should have info on that too.

could be 2 things, rocker cover gasket, or where the timing chain is
@@KlavsX_ spot on! It was the rocker cover gasket. Just got it fixed today, thanks for the heads up!

How many liters of oil does this engine hold? I totally own it
my 2.5 engine took 4.3 Liters. But to be safe check with the dipstick. 👍
How do you know if my car's engine is 2 or 2.5?
Thank you very much, you are very helpful . But your airbag light is flashing !!
👍 Glad it was helpful. The airbag light is long fixed. Even made a video about it

Hey i have a 2009 Mazda 6 GH, do you have a link for the washer? Or size. I don't want to pay $10 for some fucking tiny metal.

Yes, The air bag lightbulb was broken. Now it's fixed
i think that Castrol oils are rubish quality..Mazda gives on factory cars oil from Total soo
everyone's choice how to destroy the his engine
