Bernstein children were consulted by Bradley Cooper to ensure the authenticity of his portrayal. They have been interviewed and gave positive reviews to Director and actor Cooper’s efforts. FYI: I was lucky enough to be present for one of Bernstein’s youth concerts. I will never forget our excitement when me and my classmates went in our yellow school buses to see this legendary conductor! I can tell you that Bradley totally nailed Bernstein’s affectations, speech, and overall style! Major Kudos! Thank you, Netflix, for posting these behind the streams pieces! They help the viewer to enjoy and better appreciate the filmmaking process.
After having wept for several minutes following my view of the film Maestro ... and having recuperated my equilibrium nee breath ... I can honestly say this was not acting, this was beyond a tour de force (directorial) performance. Bernstein was revived through Bradley and the mysterious creative muses are fully alive. Astonishing.
Im so exhausted by the maestro hate. People act like this movie killed their grandma. The movie doesn’t deserve the hate. It’s award season and every movie is doing the rounds. It’s not only Maestro.
I just watched it this morning on Netflix. I am a huge Bradley Cooper fan but to see him play this role I immediately was blown away. I didn’t know who this man was until I seen this, I have been on google ever since
Thanks for this interview. Great job, Hugh! So fascinated by "Maestro" and why "Felicia" accepted such a compromised arrangement (gay/bisexual husband) that turned out to be so painful, and why did 'Lenny" think it was ok/or unavoidable to keep having boyfriends? Complex and at the same time, very human. They seem to have loved each other so much - yet at what cost. Carey mentions "Self-protection"/"Self-delusion". Fascinating stuff. The film makes me think about the compromises we make in life to our detriment and yet how we sometimes get something out of it. Giant congrats to Bradley and Carey. I went to the same drama school as Bradley. Knew Elizabeth Kemp, a great acting teacher.
Much like Oppenheimer, we are finally taking a look at the lasting marriages of our grandparents generation and understanding that life and love are messy and complicated. For far too long we have allowed society to claim that happily ever after behind a picket fence is the only way to find lifelong happiness. It turns out, life isn't like that. Felicia loved Bernie. She knew that her life was better with him in it which is why she married him despite knowing his sexual preferences. With Oppenheimer, Katherine was a brilliant and well educated woman who chose to stay with her husband despite his inability to remain monogamous. And she stayed firmly by his side through thick and thin. I love that these stories of actual real love in real life are finally being made instead of trying to brush the messy and hard to understand parts under the rug.
They did create something special with this film with beautiful cinematography, brilliant music, outstanding performances 🙌 Thanks for sharing this conversation ❤️
It's about art firstly and then receiving awards, last year great films such as , The Fabelmans, TÀR, Elvis, Aftersun all were nominated but received zero, so why are you upset if they are doing this for the fans of the actors and this film? Of you don't like it then don't watch☺️
Bradley Cooper is playing a distorted version of Bernstein. His sugar coated reputation is based on a false narrative from the sacred cow coverage in the press. I posted a new video on my UA-cam channel titled THE BERNSTEIN EFFECT. I studied with one of his friends, Ivan Davis, who also performed with him. Arts education was based on his teachings which are designed to make the conductors, pianists and composers stupid. This ruined classical music as an art form and a business. Most of the classical recordings are vanity records. I explain who's making the vanity records and who's paying for it.

Omg, that's amazing and 💯 agree what you've said ❤️

I loved Maestro. Thought it was beautifully done. A portrait of a lavender marriage and the cost to those involved.
Well said. Love the phrase "lavender marriage" - did you coin that phrase? Excellent.
❤❤❤❤🎉 excellent interview Hugh
Love the movie. They did a phenomenal job!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
In attendance in person was actor & entrepreneur Elijah Campbell !!!! 🙋🏽♂️ here virtually watching once again,
Que orgullo que esté nominado al Oscar. Es un buen actor. Y ahora un buen director
❤❤❤ respect
Well they have a lot of support but unfortunately the movie isn’t that good Carey is always great in her roles ❤
We can agree to disagree on that. I actually liked this movie. And this movie is not in my forte of what I like to watch.
Wolverine and Rocket Racoon
those pants doe
Can Trixie and Katya review this??
OMG YES
Did they also reveal when they will come out of the closet?
Unfortunately, Carey’s not gay….
@@hupotasso4705 I love Mariah's music.
bob esponja netflix 2024❓❔
Holy tight pants, Batman!
Stop trying to make ‘Maestro’ happen, its not going to happen.
why so
You’ll never make anything significant or important enough to get an audience to talk about.
Why do you care? Don't like it, then don't watch, easy
Still with this? Too much.
Awards season bs
Like every movie out there including Oppenheimer. It’s normal. Everyone is doing it. Not sure why you’re so upset.
Did someone put a gun to your head and make you watch?
Then don't watch, I don't think anyone forced you.
It's over Netflix! They're not getting any major awards. Enough with these already.

A trifecta of mediocrity.

Confound your lousy toll, troll!
