There has to be a section on our resumes that is dedicated to our failures. We need to value and highlight our failure as it they are as valuable as our successes and perhaps more important in shaping us and our life journey - changing mindsets!
Peter, thank you. Perhaps your best podcast ever. At least, of the ones I've listen to/watched. And as a subscriber, I've consumed a lot. Some of your greatest work, really. And while I've always loved Hugh, I have a new found love and respect for the man. And thanks for sharing some very personal stuff with us. Can't wait to read your book. Keep up the great work, Doc.
Such an incredible, vulnerable, open and beautiful dialogue between you two. I will be listening to this multiple times to retain as much as possible. Please keep sharing these amazing moments Peter. 💜
8 months since this podcast was published and I wish I had experienced it much earlier. Peter, you are a beautiful person - you shared so very much and might have given me the latitude I need to forgive myself. And you just gave me the “permission” I need to be in therapy yet still be an excellent parent and highly functioning individual and society.
beautiful, authentic and moving. Thanks guys. in a world of cynicism and polarization/silos, i so appreciated the privilege of listening to your intimate conversation. I came to Peter's podcast because i am a primary care doctor with a deep interest in cardiovascular preventive medicine due to my own family. history, but i come away from this with a new awe. Thank you both so much for your humanity.
I have just came across this episode, and while I was aware of both of you, each in his own field of expertise, I am so pleasantly surprised, fascinated of and so addicted to this public conversation between friends, two people so wise and curious, driven to become their best versions, and so much more than they are known for. It has been a feast for this Thanksgiving Day. THANK YOU!
I was expecting more training/nutrition discussion but I have to say I didnt miss it. I dont often listen to such long format interviews in continuity but I was captivated. Well done doc and Hugh.
Erskinviille kings was brilliant and relatable! Hugh Jackman was amazing! I bought the DVD and then went out and bought a region code free DVD player to watch it on!
You both are extremely talented human beings. It's a lovely conversation that stands as an affirmation that we can be beat human beings no matter where we are in life. Also how being grounded doesn't mean you are the lesser. Health , family, friendship and love are what we need most. The rest will fall in place with hard work, perseverance, discipline and good judgement.
I've come across this podcast at a pivotal point in my life. Everything happens for a reason, right? It doesn't matter if your are a renowned Doctor and Actor, your candid conversation and personal experiences struck home and has given me new perspectives to consider. As well as some tips & tricks... and a new wine to try 😊. I just want to say thank you both for sharing. I've always been a fan of Mr. Jackman and now a fan of Peter Attia and look forward to listening to more podcasts!
I would like to thank you for this. From this video I learned more about Hugh as person from this, than from annything on the internet and I ´m super grateful for it. And not just that, also your insight into humanity and various problems is elightning. I matured so much hearing you talk about life, and I would love to hear you guys talk about life more. Both of you have my respect for how wise you are. I´m 30 yrs old and the world and life is still confusing to me so your talk is giving me so much and I´m like, ok so that´s how it is. Seriously, thank you once again.
What a great conversation. And there were practically no medical acronyms I needed to look up afterwards. :-) Cheers, doc - thanks to you and that other guy for the great talk. (laughing)
That was awesome invitation I love Hugh jackman he amazing actor but also vary Interesting person . Thank you love listening too your Broadcast.🇨🇦❤️ stay self .
Regarding the bit about death and dying..........my background (life work) has been in hospice care. There is beautiful research now being done to lean in more deeply to listen to what those in the midst of the dying process are telling us. Specifically the research being done by Dr. Christopher Kerr and his team at Buffalo Hospice in New York on death bed visions and dreams might be of interest. Quite moving. In their published papers they also make a clear distinction between the qualities of a delirium and death bed visions and dreams. Acknowledging them not only helps the patient facing death but family (flowing into bereavement) and staff. It is also not unusual for the language to shift to a more metaphoric expression as people near death. Literal language not able to capture the ineffable experience they are immersed in. Also more research being done on that. The mystery of life never ceases to amaze me. For what it is worth.

Even if we cannot be in the same space at the same time. I values u. I cherish u. And i love you…… u r my in part reason. God. Said..,,,, and I do. And I have no problem with it. Because everything I see. Pleases me.
I think Peter is great, but does anyone else get the sense he is just a hairs breadth away from a breakdown? He is obsessed with swimming, cycling, weights, hunting, race car driving… he has like 3 therapists… and takes a ton of supplements every day. I do think he is inspiring in many ways. But I think he is so obsessed with ‘optimising’ his life, I would like to hear him talk about how he manages his own mental health. Does he ever take the time to just sit and do nothing? Or does he ever allow himself to fall off the wagon and accept that that is ok? I just don’t think it’s healthy having such a ‘calculated’ approach to life
Allow me to clarify, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth and everyone will receive new bodies that will never decay. Either you will enter the lake of fire or you will enjoy the new earth for eternity!
I know this is heresy to say.. one should NEVER even THINK like this but... If the total amount of time you will EVER spend with your kids, is mostly done by the time they are 18.. what is the motivation of being so attached and involved when they are young? Is it the hope that the time investment will cause your kids to be different, and that they will want spend time with you as an adult? Or is it so much better than anything else you would want to do with your time? Unfortunately, I think your kids will have the same type of relationship with you that you have with your parents.. that is, it's fine, but they grow up, get married, move somewhere else have kids.. perhaps visit for a few days every other year. Your great grandchildren won't even know your name, so I don't see why optimizing your life for your eulogy is better than the impact Peter and his resume will have on the millions that he reached with his book/podcast. When it comes parenting, whether it's exceptional, or just mediocre, it probably doesn't make much difference.. ala the Gardener and the Carpenter by Alison Gopnik.
The 90% of time spent at 18 Is not to settle down with this fact, it is to do something about it What about be involved with your kids What about talk with them daily What about hear what they want to tell
I know it’s a trend that everyone wants to run a “Joe Rohan” type podcast and talk about everything under the sun, but I hope this podcast stays with the medical field. Thanks

Logan is a sort of symbolic avatar for connection to universe which most humans have lost yet yearn for that's why you love that character Dr Peter
Beyond shreds... Jackman's a good interviewer too.
This is a great interview!

I loved Erskinville kings! I liked the whole cast but Hugh Jackman, was so good it was scary!
My fav movies with Hugh is Prisoners and The Fountain
The prestige is one of the best movies ever!
What is the brand of your hat? I've seen it everywhere and can't figure it out from a search
If you find an anwer to this let me know!
why Dr. Attia's videos don't have a million views apiece boggles me
Thank you for this
Great podcast 👏
Can't believe how gracious Hugh is putting up with yet another person promoting Joe Rogan lol
Incredible
13:50 diff types of therapy
22:40 Hugh father didn’t give him advice only let him know what he thought after he made his decisions
=======
22:45 perspective)
Hugh father said he’s thinned skin, if Hugh is thin skinned then I’ll be fine and can do whatever I want
As a result Hugh doesn’t read reviews, and other things as well because he knows this about himself
25:35 nowadays he gets people he trusts to help him get the temperature and send him only the good stuff
He believes it’s worthwhile to read good reviews
==========
27:16 perspective)
things can get in Hughs mind and stick with him to this day
We’re all human and if he can do everything he’s doing with stuff like this and being thin skinned etc
Then I can do anything too
28:45
Social media is where you can get attacked by anyone and you’re not gonna chnage their minds
30:15 So joe Rogan method is post and ghost
As someone who can get into very confrontational spaces
======
35:33 as someone who will always put his work before his wife and she knew it
Even someone like this was able to find love
And grew and learned
He listened to his gut to override all the information
And now he sees it as the most important decision he’s ever made
37:50
Hugh also nearly got dumped by his now forever wife, just some perspective, on where things can begin
And he gives all the confidence somehow at that point to tell her you’re gonna be with me forever when normally he would cut and run first, just one of those gut feelings almost like god works through you
That’s just very different from what you would do normally
=======
41:25 Perpsective)
Hugh Jackman says he’s very indecisive wow
If he says that then I can do anything too being similar
========
46:55 another hard decision between actual work that is also his field of work he wants
And something that isn’t paying but is his love and passion
- once again his dad did not give him his advice or thoughts on it and had Hugh choose himself first
And he chose love and passion
=======
52:25 Hugh had/has a lot of fear/anxiety
From him mother being sick at young age and having to leave home for a lot of his childhood
=
Trauma and so there was pleasing nature to his personality developed
53:33 his perfectionism driven by fear of people leaving him
And you can turn out very different from siblings even with same experiences
Same with me
54:10 Hugh trauma
And yeah the diff adaptations to same trauma
Both were serving very important needs to each other, and usually more productively than unproductively
And at some point those adaptations start to become maladaptive
1:02:00 Oscar was really troubled finding out famous people can get killed by others I rm this feeling this projection when seeing UA-cam turned star singer girl got shot at fan meet and greet
1:04:00 child said stop acting
1:08:00 talking directly to paparazzi
1:21:22 he’s an introvert by nature
But when on stage he can become the opposite
He believes it relates to his calling
1:22:22 spiritual purpose in life is far broader than the activity to it itself
1:22:56 purpose in life how it makes him feel
That it feels like time stops in those movement
Spiritual moments in life life have all been on stage
1:27:22 death are you scared
1:30:15
1:34:11 the fountain movie
Hits emotions for him that he didn’t understand
1:36:33 because it is true for you it is no less valid than what I made it for
Someone made plastic to be used as ---
Now people use it for all kinds of different things
Interpretation and use is not a isolate unchanging thing nor is it owned
1:40:33 even Hugh has a life coach
And
Manifestation of destiny
Assuming positive
And he had the experience recently
1:50:00 Wolverine 1 struggles he wasnt the guy and thought he was gonna get fired
And he was bitching to her about this person and that person
2:01:44 Hugh trainer said to mix it up bring in natural body builder
2:02:30 he starts super light on everything
2:04:10 longevity
If willing to exercise everyday
2:05:27 abs relationships
2:08:30 there is value in the hard parts of relationships
2:10:16 he embraces aging
Even the bags under eyes
22:45 Hugh father said he’s thinned skin, if Hugh is thin skinned then I’ll be fine and can do whatever I want
As a result Hugh doesn’t read reviews, and other things as well because he knows this about himself
25:35 nowadays he gets people he trusts to help him get the temperature and send him only the good stuff

cool chatter at the end
You should do a pod with Aubrey de Grey.
I really like and enjoy your podcast, but why do you film your screen when having an online interview instead of just showing the feed itself? It looks really bad and can be quite distracting
9mins in and best best best best best.
Dr. Attia should post some recipes 😋
❤️

I especially want to appreciate you because you are a wonderful fan. Thank you for your kind comments on my post, it means a lot to me. 🙏,,
I think Peter is great, but does anyone else get the sense he is just a hairs breadth away from a breakdown? He is obsessed with swimming, cycling, weights, hunting, race car driving… he has like 3 therapists… and takes a ton of supplements every day. I do think he is inspiring in many ways. But I think he is so obsessed with ‘optimising’ his life, I would like to hear him talk about how he manages his own mental health. Does he ever take the time to just sit and do nothing? Or does he ever allow himself to fall off the wagon and accept that that is ok? I just don’t think it’s healthy having such a ‘calculated’ approach to life
Lol I'm watching this watching Logan at the same time
Allow me to clarify, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth and everyone will receive new bodies that will never decay.
The 90% of time spent at 18 Is not to settle down with this fact, it is to do something about it
What about be involved with your kids
What about talk with them daily
What about hear what they want to tell
I love u
He gets sexier with age.
Married?
Only 5 defenders in hoops, mate.
I know it’s a trend that everyone wants to run a “Joe Rohan” type podcast and talk about everything under the sun, but I hope this podcast stays with the medical field. Thanks
Q Rating of Hugh 99% in down under, yes it better be :)
