    Thank you for being honest with all challenges that can happen when working with cnc and how to fix them - Cutting outside the material, parts not fitting together, broken pieces. Great work!

    Nice job! Congratulations! What do you think of the Zinc alloy openers that Amazon sells, do you recommend them?

    Pretty cool idea. I made one last weekend from your files. I found your dimensions to be off. I had to re-size all pockets and make the dividers bigger too. All in all it turned out pretty well.

      Doug Baker Free files will always be “off” and need some tweaking to suit the thickness of the material you use in your project. I’m glad you know how to do that. It also makes sense that you need a slightly different size of divider/ since I didn’t give the length of the sides, bottom, or handle I used. Happy building 😁

    So it not just me who makes silly mistakes on the cnc 😋 what do you cover the wood with? I tried masking tape(painters tape) but it just tears off.

      So mine is Avery brand it’s a 20” roll of vinyl paint masking, works great. But the big deal product is Oramask 813. I’ve never tried it but everyone raves about it.

      Laimis Miciunas Thanks! Yes, I do have files, but I’m working out a couple kinks. I’ll pin a comment at the top of this video when they’re available and where. Thanks for watching!

    What type of tape did you use to cover the wood when you painted it.

      It's just a paint mask from Avery, but these days most people recommend Oracal 813. I've used both and like them both. Kind of pricey, but worth it if you use it right .

    What do you use to mask?

    • @DoItProjects
      @DoItProjects  5 років тому

      Avery paint mast A1828-S

      People in the CNC world are always raving about a product called Oramask 813. I've never tried it, but a quick google search will lead you to a bunch of purchasing options.

    You left some important things out like how long are the slats, where are the corresponding .DXF and .SVG files for those slats. How thick are the slats? How wide did the end boards have to be to fit the bottles? Why not post the .CRV file so others can make these?

    • @DoItProjects
      @DoItProjects  7 місяців тому

      I'm just now seeing this, so a reply probably isn't relevant anymore, but here it goes:
      I didn't make files for the slats because I didn't cut them on the CNC. I think their thickness was about 0.5". It would match the width of the cut for their mortises in the DXF files I posted (link in the description). You see me laying out their lengths at 6:05; but that length would vary from project to project depending on the material someone chooses to use for the dividers. You'd find the widths of the end boards in the DXF files. I didn't post .CRV files because I didn't know how compatible that file type is with other people's software. I figured a DXF was appropriate, and if you're downloading them to use I figured you'd also know how to set up toolpaths to suit your material choices. If I'm wrong about that, my bad, but the specifics of setting up toolpaths wasn't the focus of this project. Thanks for watching!
