Joe Duplantier finally have proper french mustache LOL
The way Joe pronounces his y's like at the end of mahogany and ebony bring a smile to my face.

I always like when someone addresses the volume knob placement. I have a deep hatred for knobs below bridge pickups.
DEEP, DEEEEP hatred for that...
"Lets just place that knob right where his fingers are accidentally hitting it. It will be funny when he looks at his amp in confusion because it keeps getting quieter."
Amen! Ibanez is notorious for this. >:-( Way too close. My go-to solution is to murder the tone knob (ain't nobody got time for that), move the volume to the tone position, and put a killswitch in the vol. location:

cool but still in the way :) id like to see nothing below the pickups even behind the bridge is in the way, ideally so you could to a full strumming motion without having stop your hand, i find myself strumming up the neck because of this. The bottom horn would be a good spot but i dont know how that would look. And why not a slider for voume? That way you could turn off / on volume more quickly if it were like a 5 position switch that just slid, down all way on, up off. Instead of using 3 fingers to make a circular motion to turn off the voume you can swipe it on or off! Or how about buttons for the selector switch. All that button technology gone to waste because of touch screen, we could have some soft juicey buttons to press on our gutiars! But nope, got to stick to 1950's mass production designs because they're the "best" guitars ever made and ever will be!
xD this killed me
I removed everything except the volume knob on my Jackson RR3 and put a piece of tape over the holes. I never even use the switch since I always just use the bridge pickups. So much more space, especially when palm muting the higher strings.
It's easy. All you need is a basically a screw driver and a piece of tape of chosen colour. Gives the guitar a little more personality too.
Thank me later. ;)
You can tell he’s really excited to show off his guitar
I could listen to Joe all day
I didn't know Keanu Reeves played guitar in a jazz band
McTwish von Noodles Jazz
Some say when he sings , his mouth is breath taking
Not jazz but close
The John Wick of metal
Sweet low reference frank zappa. Saw them last night in Wichita and they were so exceptional. Gracious and heavy. Amazing show for such a space
His English has improved significantly over the years
Joe looks like a pretty cool guy!
Felipe Fernández he most likely is.
Felipe Fernández he is. Met him irl super down to earth. Mario too. Other band members don’t speak that much English so 😆
What he said about the tone knob is so accurate. I’ve done the same thing since I started playing 20+ years ago lol
I'm dying with the cuteness
That feel when you're French and you have to listen to a famous french man speaking in English x)
What do we learn here:
All in all its verry HEAVY
That beard tho. Way to go Joe.
Joe seems like a nice guy. His guitar is nice too. Sounds huge. I like Charvel a lot. I own a Ferrari Red 2010 Pro Mod San Dimas made in Japan. High end, fantastic instrument.
Very sweet guy, yes!
Sounds like you met him?
Indeed. They are all nice and sweet, but Joe is the most talkative. Mario is very polite and lovely. Jean and Christian are a bit more shy, which is cool b/c I am quite shy myself! Definitely people you'd want to be friends with. This was partially due to meet/greet package, partially meeting after. Won't be doing the meet/greet again as I am in too much debt. But I'd recommend it!
Wow you were fortunate to meet them! I see now why you know them ;) Where did you meet them?
At a show in WI. You should go---they're touring now--just get a Meet/Greet pass!
Looks realy nice
haha. very surprised from his speaking voice. I expected it do be a bit deeper
Felt the exact opposite about Geddy Lee
It's pretty deep but he has a raspy element that is higher pitched. Still very manly. Maybe you need better speakers. I'm watching this in my music studio so...
I know right, for the volume he projects I thought it was going to be deeper.
@@whatthefuckdidyousay1957 I felt the same way about Prince. Didn't expect it be kinda deep.
I like it, very clean and straight forward.
"The G"
That guitar with a black and grey set of JB Duncan's would be perfect!!!!!!!!!
Man that’s gorgeous !!
Imma get that guitar 🎸😍
I relate to the tone knob.
I want to play one of these!
5 people with 9 string guitars disliked the video.
great!
damn he holds that thing like its made of styrofoam
Is that jisus?
Très jolie gratoune !
Nice
All metal players talk about it and he just fucking did it, he got rid of the tone knob
you know the saying 'Turn it up and RIP the knob off'
This guy's so polite, he show try join gojira
simples e clássica, mas produz um som do caralho!
:( but it's £3000 in the UK... does anyone have one they're bored of that they want to sell for a normal-person price?
:)
when he talks about how the wood effects the sound, especially the fretboard.
It doesn't. 90% is pickup.
"I have very big hand and a master nob here" hahaha
very nice, but i like my jim root tele more.
Cual es la afinación. Drop C ?
Thats the only tele i have ever liked
And i just realized he looks like Frank zappa lol
MR_BEETROOT lol!!! French Frank Zappa. yeah
Godzilla guitar with a Godzilla price tag
Routed tele?
wich string gaugage he use
You get quite allot of neck dive with this model sadly. I hate having to battle my guitar when playing standing up, constantly pulling it up.
No shit?? I was seriously thinking about buying one today in fact. Seems like that small headstock wouldn't dive on you.
Hard to believe considering its a mahogany body..

I know that every guitar player is different. In my opinion i don't like guitars without a tone knob.
did he say pasive pickups?
deftonsleep yes
do you know wich ones in specific? thx
You cant get them anywhere else other than his guitar. Custom to his model, my advice is to just buy his model.
not sure...
Custom-made Charvel pickups.
That price tag though. 2,800 USD.
More affordable one out now about 500 quid. Joe said in an interview that they're basically the same
@@harryballs9508 welll,, the thing is,, id love to believe that but have can the price differ so greatly if they're "basically the same", doesnt really make sense tbh.
Its exactly like the chapman modern lunar mi3.. 😂
I have heard he is quite evil
That would be his brother, Mario
#evilmario
Gottfried Gehberger seriously. If u have seen Mario play a drum solo, straight evil
if i look him from far,i look like backstreet boys Kevin...lol
having two knobs or more is way too confusing.
Goss Samer not really..
Goss Samer maybe you're just stupid
it's actually funny that every metal guitar player in the world is looking for ebony fretboard and heavy bodies, even if they know nothing about woods.
Because they sound the best lol
Did i really just wait three minutes and he didnt even play it at all???
His facial hair is heavily colored!
I’m coming to the conclusion that Charvel has the best metal tone but $$$
having a tone knob in metal is shit
Eric Valverde why?
Almost no one uses it / rolls it off.
then how come i have one?
2600$ for that? Bro I can get a jim root squier and it’ll do the same
Don't get me wrong, I love Gojira, and I hate being a killjoy, but it surprises me that he insists on using ebony for his fretboard. Especially considering Gojira is a band that supports and encourages the conservation of the planet in their lyrical themes. With ebony trees being endangered species, using it in your signature guitar when you are actually reminding people to live responsibly in your lyrics seems a bit hypocritical to me honestly. I mean, obviously it could be that he doesn't know that ebony is threated by extinction. Maybe Charvel uses sustainably harvested ebony? Anyone who knows?
Yup you’re a killjoy
FullCircle And they have a studio in New York... think about that.
The guitar also has real ivory inlays and the strings are baby seal guts.
You should watch Bob Taylor’s statement about ebony. It’s being preserved and cared for.
Yeah not all ebony is endangered, guitars use a lot of Indonesian Macassar or Indian Ceylon ebony
just install EMG S pickups? dafuq?!
Eric Valverde emg r not good
Didn't hear 1 note... Waste of time.😢
WOW. I like Joe but I can't believe he sold out and whored himself to these guitar manufacturing companies. I guess all bands eventually sell out when they become successful. I GUESS IT WAS A GOOD RUN WHILE IT LASTED JOE. explains why their latest album is so bad and mainstream
What? Magma and FMtS are their best two albums. Plus, Charvel makes great guitars. And this one sounds awesome. Joe didn't sell out. He made Charvel better by his presence in their guitar family.
what the fuck are you on about?
