    I always like when someone addresses the volume knob placement. I have a deep hatred for knobs below bridge pickups.

    • @dramius
      @dramius 6 років тому +26

      DEEP, DEEEEP hatred for that...
      "Lets just place that knob right where his fingers are accidentally hitting it. It will be funny when he looks at his amp in confusion because it keeps getting quieter."

      Amen! Ibanez is notorious for this. >:-( Way too close. My go-to solution is to murder the tone knob (ain't nobody got time for that), move the volume to the tone position, and put a killswitch in the vol. location:

      cool but still in the way :) id like to see nothing below the pickups even behind the bridge is in the way, ideally so you could to a full strumming motion without having stop your hand, i find myself strumming up the neck because of this. The bottom horn would be a good spot but i dont know how that would look. And why not a slider for voume? That way you could turn off / on volume more quickly if it were like a 5 position switch that just slid, down all way on, up off. Instead of using 3 fingers to make a circular motion to turn off the voume you can swipe it on or off! Or how about buttons for the selector switch. All that button technology gone to waste because of touch screen, we could have some soft juicey buttons to press on our gutiars! But nope, got to stick to 1950's mass production designs because they're the "best" guitars ever made and ever will be!

      I removed everything except the volume knob on my Jackson RR3 and put a piece of tape over the holes. I never even use the switch since I always just use the bridge pickups. So much more space, especially when palm muting the higher strings.
      It's easy. All you need is a basically a screw driver and a piece of tape of chosen colour. Gives the guitar a little more personality too.
      Thank me later. ;)

      Indeed. They are all nice and sweet, but Joe is the most talkative. Mario is very polite and lovely. Jean and Christian are a bit more shy, which is cool b/c I am quite shy myself! Definitely people you'd want to be friends with. This was partially due to meet/greet package, partially meeting after. Won't be doing the meet/greet again as I am in too much debt. But I'd recommend it!

    Don't get me wrong, I love Gojira, and I hate being a killjoy, but it surprises me that he insists on using ebony for his fretboard. Especially considering Gojira is a band that supports and encourages the conservation of the planet in their lyrical themes. With ebony trees being endangered species, using it in your signature guitar when you are actually reminding people to live responsibly in your lyrics seems a bit hypocritical to me honestly. I mean, obviously it could be that he doesn't know that ebony is threated by extinction. Maybe Charvel uses sustainably harvested ebony? Anyone who knows?
