I definitely think that would be cool, but I think it's kinda cool they leave the guitar just looking like a blank white and black metal telecaster. It's like the player can make it their own guitar and it's not just free advertising for Gojira.

A true and worthy hybrid of the two most fundamental guitar configurations and tones - good job by all concerned. Also; Charvel BELONG in metal. Which is why 'charvel' should be pronounced 'shovel'...
5:00 now i know i want a rock side project from joe x) knowing that hes an excellent musician who knows how to put emotion on the play , the style of "Madrugada" (the norwegian band) would fit him perfectly
I just ordered one of these. I started wanting a tele. But, I wanted a wider neck, with jumbo frets. Before you know it, this one filled all my needs. I may change the pickups, but maybe not.
It's weird to put Duncan Designed pickups in a 850$ guitar. Every guitar has true Duncans in this price range. That natural neck looks pretty good by the way !
Thank you. I thought it would be a little more expensive, something around 800$. So they're going from a 3400$ signature model to a 500$ one with muddy pickups in it, it's weird. Who wants to deal with a change of pickups on a brand new guitar. I paid my korean made washburn idol 550€ back 2005 in and I've got SD pickups.
Well to be fair I never tried these, and if you can play and have a good amp you'll always manage to have a decent sound, like Joe in this vidéo. But I always found my SH6 and SH11 were more precise and defined than the cheaper pickups I used. That's the reason they put custom charvel pickups in the custom line ! When Jackson buys thousands and thousands of pickups the costs drop, so put good stock pickups in there, we can pay the 50$ extra.
compared to the tons of seymours u can get (Black winters are my favs and they aren't muddy at all. quite crisp actually), the duncan designed ones are muddy
I own one. I'm very happy, the neck is fantastic. The finishing gives it a wonderful tactile sensation, it's a real pleasure to play it. What I don't like that much is the pickups, that I found too aggressive, especially on the bridge position. I mean: very good for distorted sound and nice clean but (for me) almost impossible to find a crunch sound. They're on/off. Ok, it's a Death Metal band signature model... what did you expect? Right, but I would like a more versatile instrument, so I changed the bridge PU and I will also change the neck PU soon. Same thing about the volume knob: too much on/off effect. Maybe I'll change this too. Apart from this I totally recommend this guitar. It's cheap (I had mine for 450 euro), it's BEAUTIFUL, it's light and the neck is amazing.
Difference in pickups is the biggest difference but their so similar. You'll get similar tones between ebony, humbucker, T shape setup of the guitar but Jim uses EMG's which are the freaking kings of metal
I have the Jim Root Tele and This Joe D Charvel Tele.. Both are amazing. They have obvious similarities but they also have certain characteristics that separate them especially in the studio where sound differences are more noticeable. They are perfect together in a mix.
