Do a story Time video about the time you got negligently shot!!! Really sorry that that happened to you and extremely glad your still with us too spread gun knowledge. But I think first hand examples hit harder than abstract what ifs when it comes to safety of any kind
You are so much better to watch than the other "trainers" online that have schools in say Tennessee. Very refreshing to listen to your no B.S. approach.
As far as trained individuals go, anyone who tells anyone that they were in the military and the muzzle control aspect of weapons was anything less than paramount they're either lying, or daft with no capacity to comprehend. (At least as far as the Army and/or Special Operations is concerned.) It's one of the foremost reiterated (If not THE most) and trained skills. From the first time you pick up a weapon to the time you are discharged it is not only talked about but strictly enforced. It's taken incredibly seriously, I've seen people get assaulted for flagging others.
1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded 2. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger 3. Muzzle awareness 4. Do not point your weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot. 5. Be sure of your target and what is beyond.
I've seen a couple guys on ranges who had no clue. I've had to remove myself and alert the RSO. That's definitely a place you need to be situationally aware!
Such an important Lesson, thank you. I would have never known you were blind in one eye. No wonder your a Bad A$$ dude. I'm proud of you, to see how well you have done to help people.
Very good video .i have seen a bunch of people at public ranges pointing their guns sideways at people on the line😠😠 thats why i dont go to them anymore.
I love the passion man! Too bad that happened to you, but it helped make you the man you are today. Great advice, great information and GOD BLESS AMERICA!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The best teams in the world are located on the east coast of the united states. They are made up of the best minds in that world. They don't train that crap and neither should you.
THANK YOU BRO i really dig your training and your outlook in general,im disabled but into shooting i walk with cane ,maybe you could give a pointer, recovering from neck and back surgeries,.? I have been doing what i can from sitting in a wheelchair, from my bed to weapon and moving as fast and best i can, lol
CarryTrainer Wouldn't an exception to this rule be with Simunitions training? I remember we used to always train with sims and we were conducting active shooter drills and hostage situations and things of that nature and we always performed dry runs and simunition runs. Wouldn't that be a situation that is deemed safe
What are your thoughts on situations when you’re carrying and the muzzle flags someone while in the holster? Rare situation but it happens. For example I thought about it the other day while in a movie theater. Not that anyone would ever bring a gun into a gun free zone or anything but my theater has reclining seats. If I were to recline, my appendix holster would have the muzzle of my gun pointing very close to the person sitting in front of me. Switch holsters for those situations? Or trust the gun/holster?
Hey bro, good info!!! I'm watching your training videos and they are top notch. Take care. There's alot of dickheads out and about these days. Not me buddy, I'm a laidback cool machine!!! Yep, that's me, no superego here. Thanks bro.
That intro music needs to go. Star Wars Reading Club has been using it for years. When I hear it, I'm in Geek Mode, then I'm disappointed we're not talking Star Wars
Up is NOT a “safe direction”, so you can exclude that portion out of this video. Reason being: whatever goes up HAS to come down, should the firearm discharge while in the up position.

Love you man. Too many times I see guys on the range that don't know the simple basics of safety, thanks for the reminder.

In a stressful situation negligence is really easy. No matter how trained you are if you don't have to right mind set when shit really hits the fan.
Good vid Mickey. I appreciate it.
Enjoy your instruction. I'm always learning.

Someone did the same shit to me. So i try to go early morning.
I love how you covered those basics! Very well presented.
Once again awesome video, when will you be doing a video review on that PX4 Storm Compact carry from Langdon Tactical?
Very good lesson! I wonder which type of hand gun are you using in this video? To me it looks like a beretta px4 is it?

Saw a news story about some reality show actor. He lost an eye a day or two ago, when a champagne cork nailed! Great Video!👍👍👍👍👍
"No team in the U.S. is comfortable pointing guns at each other". Spetsnaz training community says nyet.

@@CarryTrainer I agree, just reminded me of some videos I saw of them training and thought it was funny 😆
I remember seeing Larry Vickers's video on that and I was very surprised. Crazy stuff

A holstered gun is not "pointed" it is holstered. Thanks for carrying and being safe!👍
JP JP those were always my thoughts but something about knowing my gun is directed at someone just didn’t sit right.
@@Dutchy224 Understandable. Check out Active Self Protection Extra channel. John Coria has a great video on the topic of holster selection.
Are you talking about the legend of Grey DeathAdder?
This is part of why I never know what to do in the gun shop... Never point anything you're not willing to shoot
Not at people is easy
must have skills #73 :

Good firearms teachage. Or is it teaching ?

Good stinger tracks are hard to come by. My first choice was on part 1, but that got rejected by quality control.

when do we learn to twirl a pistol before holstering?
