I'm an NRA firearms instructor of 20+ years as well as prior police and military but alway researching for more and up to date info. Your videos are excellent. Keep on doing what you do.
bob steadman thank you mr bob my question is ..when i focus on front site I saw in background 2 targets is that okay or I made a mistake I know you must see 2 guns when focus on front site but when I saw 2 guns my target looks like clear enough ..I need your advice to focus like pro ..
@@aymanalhabash1990 First how long have you been shooting? If your just starting out or trying to learn the skills in this video You really should start with the basics as they build a solid platform to build on. No matter which variety your firearm has, the key skill is to keep your eyes focused on the front sight as it is set within or in alignment with the rear sight. This means the target itself is slightly blurred and you will instinctively want the target in clear focus. This takes a bit of practice to train your eyes to focus on the front sight. You will shoot more accurately using this method. It's why police academies have a good chucl of gun training. Start from close in about 10 to 15 feet and as you master that distance begin to work your way out. This also goes for learning a new style of shooting such as both eye open. Don't be embarrassed. I teach this style when teaching concealed carry classes as no one even expert shooters should be shooting past 15 ' aas you run the risk of collateral damage. When I became a cop in 1980' they taught that the distance of a gunfight is 10' to 15' and that is still the standard. Long story short you shouldn't be seeing 2-targets.
bob steadman yes sir you can say I am beginner I shoot a lot but in my country no one teach a correct way to use a firearm we just put a target and try to hit it but when I saw professional trainers talk about how to focus I decided to learn and that made me change my vision to learn the correct way like professional ..notice sir ..when I hold my plastic pistol and try to focus I see 2 pistols and one target but not blurry enough is that good or just need to see it completely blurry
rhythmicwarrior Notuced the same. Wonder what is the holster brand. I get the same effect on appendix carry with my elastic waistband but not good for reholstering.
Really appreciate this series -- one can never and should never stop learning and practicing fundamentals. Also, you mentioned in a recent video that you lost your vision in one eye due to a negligent discharge, and I see in this video you are aiming cross eye. How long / how much practice did it take for you to get used to using your left eye?
Never notice your left eye dominant. Awesome bro. I’m a lefty, but I have been trying to get good with right hand shooting as my primary. Great video as always brother!
In one of his other videos he talked about being blind in one eye because someone was negligent at the range. I wonder if that's why he's using that left eye.
I think that your talking about instinktive shooting too a degree; I shoot bow & arrow alot prior too hunting season. Shooting a handgun is very reliant on a consistent grip too achieve accuracy every shot.
Here's a question for you. I've been trying to emphasize the exact same things you teach to my girlfriend with no results. I've even shattered your videos with her. She has no desire to train or learn even though she does concealed carry. How can I get it thru to her that just because she has a firearm she is not armed so to speak? In my mind she will be more of a liability if she ever does use it. How do you change that mindset?
Am I alone in seeing double front sight posts when i keep both eyes open? I have been told a million times to "keep both eyes open", but I struggle. Is there a tip or trick to focusing on the target and seeing 1 sight post that I am missing? I am right eye dominate and right handed and always end up with a perceived second sight post about 3'' to the right of the one i see if i close my left eye.
It's a thing you have to train your brain to do. My dad taught me when I was younger. Something that helps is using some bright colored nail polish on your front sight. The trick is getting your brain to block out the non dominant eye. You'll get it with enough practice buddy. Try the nail polish trick. It helps and is easy to remove
Your glitching broski I knew anybody this cool was a robot it’s always the good ones....how to aim with both eyes open please lol I just can’t seem to do it
What is going on with those glitches? It looks like it's Mikey Mouse or an evil clown cut in to his videos for a split second. Like in fight club where the put a clip of porn fluidly into the movie at the theater. I don't like it.
@@CarryTrainer I first noticed the glitches in must have skills # 7 at 0:32, 1:04, 1:14, 1:24, 2:15, 2:40, 4:00. There were a few more that I didn't mark down. Most seemed like nothing more then a glitch. In must have skills #8 at 3:57 when you finger the camera and stare into my soul, as if to say if I f*ckin try anything you will end me. I got scared. The other glitches in episode #8 were 0:55, 1:32, 4:47, 6:22, 6:56, 7:03. I couldn't find the one that made me think of Mickey mouse. You where in the middle of a grand hand gesture, mixed with the glitch made your hands appear extra large like Mickey gloves. Haha. I don't know man. Probably just my imagination.

As a retired cop and police instructor for 25 years, I must say.....damn fine instructions, sir. This is exactly what we taught as well, and it WORKS.
This is essentially how I have been practicing. It works! Subscribed!
Mickey you're both impeccably logical and incredibly funny which just works - you educate through simple logic and entertainment and I appreciate it.
can’t wait for the pat mac stuff, thanks for all you do mickey!
excellent video Mickey! Former military and your keys are absolute!
Listen to this guy! This is exactly how its done. Love this channel
Thank you- practicing bringing my sights to where my eyes are focused (in dry fire).
Thanks for all the good info !! Just from watching your videos I am shooting the best I ever did in my life ! Can’t wait to go to one of your classes
Great info! Love your videos.
Sometimes, I just wanna yell out, "Yo! Mickey!!" as if you're our ringside coach. Great insight, sir! Thank you.
I watch your videos everyday. Thank You.
best channel, for sure, ty from Brazil, Mic!
Excellent! one of the best videos i have ever seen. A must have for every shooter , new or skilled.
Thank you so much for making these. This series is incredibly helpful.
Another great video. I appreciate the way you break everything down. I've learned a lot from your videos.
Loving that px4 LTT. I need one.
Excellent training again as usually.
great video i was trying to find a way to practice this taking various tips from people. i find your training example to be super helpful
I follow your training. I am a on my church’s safety team and we are armed. I am also a BJJ blue belt and have fought for years
This is a good one.
Good message without the usual attitude... Thanks...
Outstanding! Keep these videos coming
Thanks, Mick. I’ve become a better shooter thanks to you.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that there is zero printing on his carry rig?!

Don't always agree with everything you say . But i respect the hell out of it. Nice presentation
Can you make a video on how to shoot a handgun with both eyes open? 👀
do you bring sights to eyes, or eyes to sights? Then move sights/eyes to target?
"basic dude stuff" on the way. I am looking forward to Pat and more of your videos
That video is goat.
Popo eo septim (n) the art of knowing the correct on-ramp the highway patrol officer is staged at.
You may have already spoke to this but what are your thoughts on xs big dot sights
Right handed but left eye dominate? It looked like it on your presentation. I am and it took me a little bit to get comfortable with it.
He is blind in the right eye from a friend's bb gun when he was young.

Yes and no. I am saying instinctive shooting comes through a visual focus. See your sights. Practice with total attention
Thanks Mick. BTW, it's a little odd to look back down your sights into your pupil. Gives me the heeby jeebies, like I am about to die.
Hahaha i thought the same thing
Are you left eye dominant?
Yes you remind me of Assad Yaoob.i hope I spelled it correctly, your speech is founded
mickey are you left eye dominant?
He had to be. His right eye is damaged from a friend's bb gun when he was young.
Oh ok wasn’t aware of that, thank you
