      @@aymanalhabash1990 First how long have you been shooting? If your just starting out or trying to learn the skills in this video You really should start with the basics as they build a solid platform to build on. No matter which variety your firearm has, the key skill is to keep your eyes focused on the front sight as it is set within or in alignment with the rear sight.
      This means the target itself is slightly blurred and you will instinctively want the target in clear focus. This takes a bit of practice to train your eyes to focus on the front sight. You will shoot more accurately using this method. It's why police academies have a good chucl of gun training.
      Start from close in about 10 to 15 feet and as you master that distance begin to work your way out. This also goes for learning a new style of shooting such as both eye open. Don't be embarrassed. I teach this style when teaching concealed carry classes as no one even expert shooters should be shooting past 15 ' aas you run the risk of collateral damage. When I became a cop in 1980' they taught that the distance of a gunfight is 10' to 15' and that is still the standard. Long story short you shouldn't be seeing 2-targets.

      bob steadman yes sir you can say I am beginner I shoot a lot but in my country no one teach a correct way to use a firearm we just put a target and try to hit it but when I saw professional trainers talk about how to focus I decided to learn and that made me change my vision to learn the correct way like professional ..notice sir ..when I hold my plastic pistol and try to focus I see 2 pistols and one target but not blurry enough is that good or just need to see it completely blurry

Also, you mentioned in a recent video that you lost your vision in one eye due to a negligent discharge, and I see in this video you are aiming cross eye. How long / how much practice did it take for you to get used to using your left eye?

    Here's a question for you. I've been trying to emphasize the exact same things you teach to my girlfriend with no results. I've even shattered your videos with her. She has no desire to train or learn even though she does concealed carry. How can I get it thru to her that just because she has a firearm she is not armed so to speak? In my mind she will be more of a liability if she ever does use it. How do you change that mindset?

    Am I alone in seeing double front sight posts when i keep both eyes open? I have been told a million times to "keep both eyes open", but I struggle. Is there a tip or trick to focusing on the target and seeing 1 sight post that I am missing? I am right eye dominate and right handed and always end up with a perceived second sight post about 3'' to the right of the one i see if i close my left eye.

    • @waltmagic
      @waltmagic 5 років тому +1

      It's a thing you have to train your brain to do. My dad taught me when I was younger. Something that helps is using some bright colored nail polish on your front sight. The trick is getting your brain to block out the non dominant eye. You'll get it with enough practice buddy. Try the nail polish trick. It helps and is easy to remove
