The great thing about your tutorials is that you go beyond the basic technique (arpeggios in this case) to show us how to incorporate it into the music you're making.
Your videos are so inspiring. I loved the arp sound on the Korg. You're videos have also convinced me to make the Analog RYTM MkII my next piece of gear to add to my studio. I just can't help getting excited to mess around with my synths when I watch your videos. Currently running a Peak and Virus TI2 as my synths and need to get my hands on a nice analog drum machine. :D
Ihor, Wow this was amazing. You can so insightfully deconstruct such well known and danceable EDM constructs. That's an incredible talent you have. Keep up the good work!
Hi Igor . I’m apreciate a lot the video . I just try to do it and I’m having a lot of fun . This kind of tutorials are helping me so much. Keep uploading the amazing videos . All the best for you . THANK YOU
Thanks for making these videos. You and messy desk are my goto for learning the octatrack. Will absolutely check out the ducking trick you are doing here 🤟
There is perhaps a thousand different ways to make ducking effect of the OT haha! This one that I briefly showed in this video is quite flexible when it comes to controls. I like it! Thanks for tuning in Glenn! I appreciate you! Also I love watching the Messy Desk too!
I just bought a minilogue xd. My first synth...I know nothing. This is a great video. Thank you so much. And I would also like to add my support for the Ukrainian people. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to your videos.
I have learned so much thanks to this tutorial. Also, your language truly added knowledge for me to imagine how a sound or effect performs, especially for this machine, it was wonderful. Thank you.
You have made my day sir! That was the best use of my time. I’m going to go play my minilogue now. Just wish I could bring a beat in like you do, looks like so much fun!
Hey thanks a lot ! Super useful for me, i’m trying to bring the Minilogue in live rock music, and your tip on active step is a game changer for me, it unlocks so many options !
Ihor wow. 🎉 You made theXD dance and sing. The way you bring out the best in each machine is so amazingly creative. Thank you for always inspiring, your videos are practical simple and effective as always 👌👌

Nice stuff as usual... Minilogue xd... Hmmm had to decide between the xd and db1... And went for the db1... Maybe next time xd, but as... Not the gear is making the music, but the xd really sounds nice in your hands
That's funny... Of course I have Minilogue XD and Octatrack, but I try curently to make a polyphonic eurorack stuff... Using Chord Machine 2 and 4 voices behringer 112 + 121 + 140 into Quad VCA Intellijel... Not that easy but will progress in the next few days. 😜
Another morning well spent for me, watching you produce wonderful sounds. Loving the explanation as always. The beats were just a 16 step loop? Did you automate/f!&k up the clap a bit so it was randomised? Just curious if it’s my mind making up the changes in sound!! 😊
@@IhorMedia I like using the more compact instruments in general, I have both. Side question, do you sync the synth with Digitakt, Midi control or just time them together with the same BPM?
Fantastic video, thank you for making it. Did you make all the music in this video using only the Octatrack and Minilogue XD? If so, how did you connect them both? I find DAWs a bit intimidating so a more minimal set-up appeals to me.
Hey! Thank for kind words! Yes, all the music in this video is made on these 2 machines. The connections is extremely easy - 1 MIDI cable and a few settings on both of the machines ;)
it's cool that you can set the direction of the arpeggiator per step in the xd's sequencer. kind of like a parameter lock. if I understood correctly that is. that's something the elektron sequencers cant do (other than the OT) if I'm not mistaken. I'd love to be mistaken though lol
Minilogue has so called "Motion". Which is something quite similar to "Param Locks" from the Electron universe. And now I have good news for you! Pretty much every Elektron sequencer has "Param Locks", not only the Octatrack!
I just got into modular but have had the minilogue xd for a while and love it. Your videos are great! Have you tried running modular cv into the minilogue yet? I have not but want to. I'd love to see what you do with it
Of course I did try this! And I think it is fun! First of all you can have more LFOs, right? And assign them to more destinations! You can also clock modular from the minilogue, or vice versa. You just gave me another idea for a video! Thanks!!!
Good video! The Korg seem tempting, but i prefer a compact setup that i can have in my living room next to my computer, and Maschine MK3 + Komplete 11 Ultimate really fits those criteria, and is so much bang for the buck i almost feel like i dont really need anything else (still think im gonna upgrade to K14 collectors edition when it goes on sale though). Especially Reaktor has just ridiculous potential, and is so much fun to use for experimenting with making my own effects. Definitely the coolest music software i know about 👍
I remember the K5000s' arpeggiator. Very versatile, you could program what it should play in what order and what should be done if you have a 3 note arpeggio and pressed 4 notes, also stacking more notes together I believe. A very good aftertouch keyboard and additive engine... Too bad I sold it, but it was too big and I needed the €€€ to fund Eurocr... I mean Eurorack 😅
awesome video again mate, thanks, love the kick & percussion samples. could you by any chance email them to me :-)? PS I'm in Amsterdam too and have an OT AE on the way, you are one of the people that inspired me to get one!
Hey mate! Sorry for not replying for a while. Nice that you are getting OT too! The samples and loops I used in this video come from the Samples From Mars pack that comes with the Octatrack card. Not sure if it is "ethical" to send those samples. Since you are from Amsterdam too. Do you know if there is any producers/djs community out there? I wonder where people/electronic music nerds hangout. Apart from clubs I guess.
