Plus most of the time the cable breaks at the bending point near the connector. So you still need new conmector and solder them. I would rather spend time doing other repair.

Micro USB are the worst types of connectors due to its short-lived durability. They are notorious for a device's failure due to a loose solder join in the micro USB port. I never buy anything that uses micro USB as a charging or powering port.
