FINAL FANTASY XVI
The sun is setting upon the land of Valisthea.
For centuries, people have flocked to her Mothercrystals to partake of their blessing-the abundant aether that fuels the magicks they rely upon in their everyday lives. As the aether begins to fade and the lifeless deadlands spread ever further, so too does the struggle for possession of the final flickers of the Mothers' light grow ever more fierce. Yet amidst the gathering storm, there are those who believe that the legacy of the crystals has shaped mankind's destiny for long enough.
The first fully fledged Action RPG in the mainline Final Fantasy series. Clive Rosfield is on a mission to free mankind from its fate, and must use the Eikonic powers at his disposal to overcome every obstacle his enemies lay before him.
Hope this is the big comeback. They didn't mention "you don't have to have played any previous games" for no reason. This has got a lot of people who were tuned out on Final Fantasy for a long time excited again.
That comment stuck out to me as well. That and the huge marketing push they're doing worldwide, and the collaboration theme song with Kenshi Yonezu, who is very popular with young people in Japan, all point to them really trying to pull in new fans. I think it will work.

I was initially very skeptical of the combat. It always looked to me like it could end up an auto battle system like FFXV. After this, it seems far more inspired by the Tales of franchise. Exciting. I just hope we can get hit combos going up into the millions.
It does look very engaging, and I'm sounding like a broken record at this point, but I chalk it up to only controlling one character. Managing a whole party in action-based combat requires some kind of break in the action (FF12) or an auto-battle feature (FF15), but with only one character to worry about (plus Torgal of course) they can throw in lots of in-dept action combat features a la God of War, which I think is going to be a very interesting shift for the franchise. Also, I did see at the end that one attack did over 2.7 million damage, so I'm SURE the numbers are going to get crazy in the arcade mode.
It's more like Devil may cry granted from what I've seen of tales there could be some elements in there plus the combat director was also the combat director for devil may cry 5
