My husband and I are a dog family, no kids. We did go into our marriage wanting children and it wasn't possible for us. So we grieved the life we thought we would have and made new plans to have a different one. Now, we couldn't imagine having children! We are both very happy dog parents!

I raised five children and lots of animals, both domestic and livestock. I always wanted children so it was natural for me to choose that life. It’s certainly not for everyone and is a personal decision and no one else’s business imho. That being said, I would rather a child be born wanted rather than to someone not ready or capable to raise them. For you both, the decision was yours to make and it’s obviously been a good one for you. Please give Bruce Wayne and Joey Justice some extra pats from me for being such a joy to you and to their fans.💕🐾🐾

I was married before with kids. Divorced and remarried someone who doesn’t have kids. We decided having kid together wasn’t for us. He’s happy being a great stepdad. We have Great Danes instead. We adopted Fenrir together and sadly lost him at 6 years old. That was harder for me because he was like our child. A soul we helped nurture and loved beyond words. I too cry looking at my other Danes thinking about losing them. Can’t help it. I know what it feels like and I know how badly I wish I could give Fenrir one more hug and kiss. Really enjoyed the conversational aspect of this video! I hope you two make more

I never had children but did have horses and dogs. Loved them all dearly. Own a horse for 36 years and see how heartbroken you are when they die. The most stupid comment ive ever heard was " its just a dog its just a horse". No, its not. Its a family member. And yes my Rottwieler slept in the king size bed with me and a little dog. They are not disrespectful of me, the horses havent been disrespectful. Its all in training and disposition. Rott dog not people friendly but dog friendly. He doesnt hate everyone but those he doesnt like i tend to look twice at. A dog or horse can read intentions of an individual faster than you can think. Ive never tried to outguess my dog or horse when it comes to strangers. My life has been good i wish dogs lived longer. Horses too but i wouldnt have had all the wonderful souls in my life that ive had if they lived forever.

also, any couple who is ok with just having their beloved dogs and no children, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! that's exactly what I told do. I didn't have to have a child to be fulfilled in life. being fulfilled in life is loving and be happy with yourself and knowing who you are, then you add someone to your life is you want, it should never be I have to or I need to, it should always be, I want to, same if it's a dog or a child. I'll take the dog every time! a child doesn't make you a mother or father, just makes you a parent. I love couples that feel they didn't need to have children to be happy and complete with one another. you guys are great!!!

I have two dogs, and they are my only real family and I love them, but there are still rules and everyone adores them and they earn everything they get by showing respect, and being obedient ❤️

I have had children,St.Bernards, chronic illness and taking care of parents,I will tell you it is impossible to give the time that each deserved.
I have come to believe that children and animals are privilege they deserve the best of you.
We had two special needs children so I had to stay home to care for them but that meant my husband was away working all the time.
Looking back I wish I had understood how majestic our dogs were and we loved them sooo much we only got 8 years with each and it broke our hearts so much we have never stopped grieving them.
We gave everything to our families and it cost me physically making my chronic illness much much worse.
Life is hard and the more humans you had the harder it gets our children are grown they are married and we have four grandchildren and I don't have the physical ability to interact with them because I burned myself out.
You have no idea how you may care for children as aunts, uncles, foster parents, teachers who knows but raising children often includes other people in society and your part could be important.

We have cat fur babies, Would love to have dogs but we are at work too much and probably wouldn’t be fair for the dogs. We get what you discussed a lot but seriously people will comment no matter what you do. I love how you look after your dogs in the best way possible. Your family is awesome and you have a great channel. We get you and there’s a lot more people out there with the same thoughts. You’re not weird, you’re you and that’s a blessing.

My husband and I are also 40/41 and 9 years married (11 years together) without kids. He never wanted kids and I wasn't sure, but never felt the need to have one. For me it's not selfish to not have kids. I think also our society isn't perfect and easy to live in and there are more than enough humans out there. In Europe it is also uncommon to not have kids and we got the question very often after getting married, why we don't have kids and who will take care about us, when we are old. I think many have the fear to be alone, when they are old. But I was absolutely sure that I want dogs as soon as work-life is more smooth since I was a child. My husband got infected with the dog-love as soon as we got the first one. We got both self employed over the years and now we have our beautiful brown Labrador Leon 7 years old and Maya the 2,5 years old Cane Corso girl. Our family is perfect and don't need kids. Greetings to Bruce and Justice🥰

As a married woman who has never wanted kids and then had a medical condition that forced a hysterectomy, I have also experienced a lot of people shaming me for our lifestyle- never my husband. I'm a very live and let live person; if you have/want kids, go for it. Whatever that may mean for you. But no one should shame people for making choices about their lives. Stop trying to save other people's souls/lives with your opinions. You're entitled to them, but using opinions to make people feel shitty says more about you than the person you're shaming.

And absolutely, the dogs brought me and my husband closer as well - especially since the first Beagle joined the family, OMG how much joy that little guy brought us. From then on, my husband was sold, and a while after our senior Shepherd passed, I suggested adopting another Beagle. He was absolutely in support of this, and this Beagle became totally "his" dog; she spends most of her time in his office and the connection they share is amazing. Even now as I'm typing this, these two are sharing a pre-walk huggie :-)

I am a father of two children one boy and one girl. So I understand the parenting aspect. However, when I became a father it was not the go out and pic a child, it was more unexpected and somewhat not planned. I have no regrets about my children and have truly enjoyed being a father. After my children grew and went off on their own I decide to become a dog parent. This is the thing I found most interesting, I was overly concerned about being able to provide for each of my two guys Corsos. Unlike the father experience i was now prepared to offer a high quality of life and love that as a father was not alway an option. I watch your videos and listen intently as you provide what at the time seem like the most sensible advice, about taking on the responsibility of being a corso owner. At this point it's been two and a half years into my dog daddy trip. Loving every second with my two besties. So thanks for all you provide and so you know given the choice looking back.............. Doggy dad is way easier than being a parent. The rewards are so similar and each has its own benefit and down sides. PS if I had fight one of you iver the family thing I picking Jason of course when the boys are not around LOL Love you guy and your FAMILY.

I love all of your videos. Your family or pack is great and fun to watch. I watch everything you post. I'm in my 60's and too old to own a Corso. Man if I had known about them before I would still have at least one now. While I was married we had 3 kids and countless dogs over the years. Mainly pits but also many other breeds thru the years. Now I get my dog fix by watching your videos. I am in love with Bruce and Joey. In fact when Bruce was sick and had to have surgery I prayed so hard. I was so happy to see him go home. They are the best behaved dogs I have ever seen. And I know that's from you and Kara's fantastic job of raising them. You can see in their eyes and actions just how much they love you. My favorite thing is when one of them actually hugs you and it's not something you initiate he will just put a big paw on your shoulder and pull you in. ❤ love you guys. Keep up the good work. Love you all. Take care and please keep posting ❤

As someone with both, I don't think it's comparable. I take my mastiff everywhere I can along with my child. Yes having a dog is very fulfilling and takes a lot of work by itself. It's still not comparable to having your own biological kids.
I find people with only dogs seem to be bitter about not having kids, or even openly dislike children. Can be seen in the comments below. Which is weird because we were all kids once, and your very existence depended on your parents doing what you are avoiding. A decent amount of your body/hormones are designed around reproduction. That being said not everyone should have kids, especially those who don't want them.
People who just have kids though, do not understand how much a part of the family dogs are.

I have a partner and a black lab. We would love to have another dog-a dogo argentino or a cane corso, but the financial aspect of living life for us plus our singular dog is already a lot. We will bring on another when we’re ready.
I’m 40 and have never “wanted” kids. I wasn’t a hard no, but I was more of a probably not than I was anywhere near a yes , until I met my current partner. We’ve been together for three years and I occasionally have moments where I truly feel a strong energetic and emotional desire to have kids. I’ve cried in those moments because it’s quite loving and intense, but they are fleeting moments and spaced far apart. The rest of the time I am still, “I don’t feel a desire to have them.”
The two of us together also feel very strongly that we need to get our shit together for ourselves (I have a very successful business doing bodywork, but I was carefree and footloose my whole life and didn’t start putting *any* money into an IRA until last year and have not prioritized saving money in general and he has a similar background). So kids do not really make sense for us. Perhaps if our drive was stronger, we would find a way, but we are both happy being fur parents and focusing on raising him well and being more cognizant of our lives in the present and future with the three of us.
My dog, Obsidian, is my heart and soul and I am so happy he is my fur child.

We are now on our third set of dogs ( two Labs and a Corso) and are retired. The bond with our dogs is even greater. All our dogs were well behaved and went everywhere with us. 8:20 JJ said thank you for taking us everywhere 💋😍 I also feel sadness when I see others with their dogs and their close relationship with them. 🥰 I do have children and have chosen to have dogs opposed to children because of my chronic health conditions. This is the first time in my adulthood that I dont have a dog. A dog is the only thing missing in my life. Im a 46 year old woman.

Having both, I can say that having dogs and taking care of them like we do and you guys do is like a version of having kids. Many differences but also some similarities. It's definitely not selfish to decide. More people who don't feel financially equipped or don't really want kids should not have them. I think it's selfish to have kids in many circumstances if you can't fill their needs.

We each had a child before we married, both unplanned, and I wouldn’t change that. I do think life is more fulfilling With kids, Grandkids are Life itself! I would be very lonely without our children and grandchildren. And I hope to own another CC before we are too old .

I’m 40 and my family pressured me to have kids until I was in my 30s, but my sister and I chose to be child free (and partner free) because of inherited health issues and the fact that our life wasn’t conducive to having children.
I also feel that it’s selfish to have children that you don’t have the means to take care of, whether it’s because of illness, money, or any other reason.
I think it’s selfish of people to push their beliefs or expectations onto others, especially when they aren’t the ones who are going to be responsible for them for the rest of their lives.
I have two dogs that are my family, a bullmastiff/American staffy mix and a jack Russel/ridgeback/basenji mix.
The big dude is my service dog and is so human like.
He’s also extremely intelligent, he knows how to problem solve in a way I’ve not experienced with my past dogs.
Hades taught himself to open the fridge door, the baby gate I use for the little guy to have his own room, and so many other things I can’t think of rn
When he wants to go for a walk he starts bringing me things he knows we use for them, he’ll grab whatever leash, harness, collar, shoes he can find and even brings my favourite hoodie I wear on walks lol 😂
My little guy is really intelligent as well but in different ways, he’s an awesome mouse and rat hunter, and he’s always down for a car ride. If he gets out the gate he just runs circles around the car until I open a door, this is the only way to catch him when he’s on a mission 😆
I was raised to see dogs as family though so it’s a lot easier for me to understand than someone who hasn’t experienced this kind of connection with dogs.
Thanks for all you do, your boys are gorgeous, and I love watching your family 🫶🏼

I've kinda been on both sides of this coin. My husband and I were together for 10 years before having kids. We rescued our dog Larry and had him for a few years before having kids. He was amazing with our kids when they came along. Having Larry is what made my husband and I realize we wanted to have children. Larry will always be my first baby, even now that he's passed away. There's no right or wrong when it comes to what type of family you want, only what's right or wrong for you.

There is nothing wrong with being childfree and there is nothing wrong with having children. I just think childfree people should not shame those who have kids as if our lives are horrible and people with kids should not shame those who do not have kids as if those without kids are lost or ‘selfish’. Respect everyone’s decision. Both decisions have ups and downs.

But i have two beautiful nieces.

I think which I’m sure a lot of us don’t think about is making sure you have a will draw up so that all your assets will be given to someone special in your life. Especially if you decide not to have children. It’s also important that both you and your partner are on each other’s bank accounts just in case something happens to one of you. My neighbour just recently lost her husband unexpectedly and they had separate bank accounts and it cost her almost 10 thousand dollars to get access to his account just thought I would put that out there ❤

Dogs are family weather you have children or not.
What I would like to ask is when you get into your later ages which is a while yet I know but can you see yourselves still having this breed in your senior years or do you think that you will have to change your breed of dog.
I cannot see myself without the breed I have now which are a British Bulldog and a French Bulldog but worry about if I can give them what they need as I do suffer with conditions which has changed their lives already but people say that they are still happy so that gives me piece of mind, do you feel the same or think you will be able to continue with your breed.
It's your lives if you don't want children and its nothing to do with anyone else, if you are happy that's all that matters.

I have 3 kids and a dog. The bottom line is, everyone has their own rights to live their lives to the fullest the way they consider them to be, whether it’s with kids/dogs/cats/alone. Even for kids, they are growing into individuals and have their own lives. Having kids is going to change ones perspective of life, big one which I can’t disagree, very different from having a pet (I do love my dog to death), it’s just a way higher level of responsibility raising a kid to be a responsible citizen for the human race.

Just dogs since I was a kid. When I lost my childhood dog I was destroyed, it was cancer and I knew it was coming. But the void and silence was devastating. The only way I could recover was to find a new dog to adopt. It's not replacing just adding. Each new dog gets all the love I can't to those who passed, and then some. It's how I found my peace

Not having children has always been frowned on. People think either you cant have kids or you're being selfish. I have had family members ask who is going to take care of you? I honestly never had the motherly instinct to have a child.. I knew from a young age I didnt want them..when I see a baby it does nothing for me, verses seeing a puppy..I go crazy.. I have horses dogs and rabbits and that's enough for me , and of course my husband who feels the same way. We are both in our early 60s and have no regrets.

    • @jasoncorey
      @jasoncorey  Місяць тому +2

Thank you for sharing your experiences. Just like you seeing a baby does absolutely nothing for me. Maybe it is due to being a only child. Of course there are times I think yes that would be incredible to have a little one of us but that's not enough to make me truly want a child. We all have different paths and that is exactly what the world needs.
