My pug had seizures after using this poison. Just because our veterinarians recommend something doesn't mean it's safe, just like with things MDs recommend.

Vets are about making money a lot don't even own dogs or cats themselves. Went into the profession for the money. It's vet nurses that truly love animals.

I had a pitbull that had the same reaction, seizures. I agree, that the vets don't always know what's best. It's a poison. Makes sense that it would be a risk to your dog or cat. No more in this house.

I fired my conventional vet long time ago. I had a beagle who almost died because the vet gave him 3 vaccines and Advantix. She had seizures, thrashing everywhere and it took a months for the abscess created by the shots to go away. Never ever again. I found a great holistic vet and learned that dogs like people don’t need tons of jabs to “stay healthy”. They need clean raw food, good daily exercise, mental stimulation and love! Be really careful who you go to..

I’ve had dogs for 30 years and they’ve only ever had puppy jabs at 8 and 12 weeks, nothing after that , not even wormed them unless I see something which I never have, my current staffy is 8 years old super fit and strong, never been jabbed and don’t remember ever worming him, like myself I just treat if there’s a problem, I’m in the uk where vets love pumping animals with drugs 🙄

Jason, you do not need to explain your decision. You and Kara are the ultimate pet parents and we who "know" you know you'd kill for your boys. I too had the hardest time finding specialists to treat my big boy Joey. Thankfully I have a primary care vet who moved her heaven and earth to find solutions for him. I did everything medically and financially possible for him but I lost him Dec 19th and my heart is crushed. You are amazing parents!!❤

I live in Syracuse and I can relate to the ticks and ER vet being basically nonexistent!! If your pet is especially sick on the weekend, good luck! The ticks here are out of control. I have two Vizslas and I refuse to give them tick medication and the vets put fear in our eyes that they MUST have this medication or they will get Lyme disease. I just make sure I religiously check them for ticks, and use Midorice natural flea and tick spray on them that primary ingredient is cedar and use Earth Animal drops. Best of luck to Bruce.

I’m so sorry this happened to Bruce. These flea/tick/heartworm treatments are horrible. I gave heartworm meds years ago and both of my dogs started having seizures. I stopped the meds but they had seizures for the rest of their lives. They had no prior medical issues before the medication. I only use natural remedies now.

Hello again, I just watched your first video regarding his reaction. It is exactly how my dogs acted, lethargic, confused. I am a doctor so recognized the signs of neurotoxicity in my dogs right away. Make sure you give him a bath with a detergent based shampoo that will remove all the residue of the product. The flea/tic product is meant to stay in the upper layers of the skin and release over a month. Nondetergent pet shampoo's do not remove it. You can use dawn dishwashing liquid it will remove it. He will recover do not worry about it.

Cherish one day at a time with our beloved Bruce. You are loving him back to recovery. He may not be 100% but never say never. It is so encouraging to see him out and about as well as playing a bit. His body has been through a shock so this may take a while but I truly believe our many prayers have been answered. Kara suddenly remembering the Advantix and Jason instinctively bathing him certainly seems like divine intervention and wisdom. I know its scary and concerning but stay in a position of faith.❤

Controlled poisoning, I’ve struggled with these topicals for years. I have a friend whose dog had this reaction so she moved to flea and tick shampoos. My issue is deer ticks, we have a heavy deer population and my dog gets them and they are almost impossible to find. Then there’s lymes disease which tears them down eventually. We went with Nexguard on my Cane corso, she’s done ok on it. The lymes she had was a nightmare, this poor dog screamed in pain. 😢😢😢😢😢
Sending up a prayer Bruce recovers back to his old self, it breaks my heart to see him hang his head. Such a beautiful boy and a great dog ❤❤

My short-haired chihuahua (12 yrs) developed seizures using another popular flea and tick med (Simprica). The spelling may be incorrect. We immediately stopped but we noticed she would not be herself for the first 2 weeks after placing the meds onto her skin. Bruce looks great. Give him a month to get the meds out of his system. I have faith that Bruce will be fine. I love your dogs and the way you all love those fur babies. ❤️

This happened to my Bullmastiff when I put a Seresto collar on him. Within 1 hr of putting it on him for the first time he was frothing at the mouth, shaking, very weak and lethargic…his gum color went white…at first I thought he ate something outside…as soon as I realized, I took it off, and gave him a bath…he came back around but he was not fully back to normal until 24 hrs or so. When I mentioned this in a vet forum, there were many owners that said the same thing happened to their dogs. I’m so sorry this happened to you guys and Bruce. I hope he continues to heal. My Bullmastiffs were 9.5 before I had to put them down due to Cancer. The Mastiff breed is such a misunderstood breed. Thank you for creating a channel that clearly depicts how loyal and loving these beasts can be. I love watching your videos and seeing them with you & Kara. Keep up the great content (love both you guy’s channels)

All those dogs there are very sick and Bruce didn’t need anything else to get him. Bless him and your sweet family. I’ll say it again, without seeing Bruce, I wouldn’t have my baby. He was put onto raw and I would blood tested him every 3 years to check his levels and he was always great. Herbal remedies only for flea and worming and he was so much better for it, couldn’t take back what the over vaccinating did but just researching really opened up to mind to how much we over do it with everything.

For short term comfort/relief this isnt a bad idea. However, I would highly recommend you do some extra research on the likely consequences of using gabapentin, and they are always likely to be worse than the original condition to begin with.

Hey Jason, I was one of the "take him to the vet" ppl and I just wanna say no offense was meant, it's just that his symptoms were so similar to having a stroke that I said so instinctively because that's a medical emergency and a half and I've dealt with it myself and it's frightening. I know you all are the most dedicated dog owners so no harm nor disrespect was meant 🙏.
Praying for Bruce to have a full recovery and for you all too!

I’m glad to see Bruce Wayne improving but healing is slower now that he’s older. I would consider him a senior dog as he’s a giant breed going on 7. Realistically, it could take quite some time for him to heal fully from everything he’s been through recently. He’s getting the best care from you and Kara, so remain optimistic but watchful for negative changes, as you have been doing. It may be that his weight loss, if it doesn’t progress, could turn out to benefit his joints as he ages. As the caretaker of three large breed seniors, it’s hard to watch as they struggle but it will take time. You’ve got this!💕🐾🐾

Mine! To this AND Soresto collar. My girl recovered and I hope Bruce does also. I’m in VT high tick, mosquito area - I now treat my yard with an all natural tick/mosquito repellent spray every few weeks from spring to late fall. She hasn’t had a tick once. It’s expensive but so worth it.

    • @denisia1111

Hi the soresto collar has been banned in Canada after multiple pet deaths and is currently under review in the US. Sadly the US won't act as quickly as Canada. Seresto is in a league of its own when it comes to reactions and poisoning. I highly recommend looking in to it and I wouldn't be surprised if a class action lawsuit is already in the works.

@@denisia1111 I’m so glad they are banned in Canada. You are right! US just won’t get to that point. It’s just awful!

@@m_m_marcia Our dog had terrible seizures after Frontline treatment and I immediately blamed the drops. Thankfully I have a great vet who said unless she was overdosed or ingested the meds then the reaction was from a underlying health condition. It was, Belle is a puppy mill rescue n has neurological issues that those stupid flea drops helped us find out sooner so treatment could be done. We're in Penn so like VT fleas n ticks are insane so I asked about Soresto and she warns all her patients to stay away. She said Soresto flat out kills too many pets. Bayer owns it so a lot more will be lost before they ever ban it here.

Y’all have done everything right. I pray he continues to improve. ❤. As I commented in your previous video, both my dogs react to these meds so that I have to half dose them, wait a day or 3 and then re dose. I never give heart guard and flea meds near each other. I usually space them out 2 weeks apart. These meds scare me.

My 2 year old chihuahua dog that was given Bravecto on a vet visit in Feb 2022. (I’m from Australia). She started collapsing and looked like she was going to die. She would recover over a hour or so. After many vet visits, ultrasounds and blood tests, no answer. In the mean time I started feeding her all natural foods. She continued collapsing for around 6 mths. Then after a lot of investigation via me, I learnt Bravecto flea and tick can cause seizures, collapse. I was furious!
I treated my dog with completely clean diet, no vaccines, natural shampoo and she has recovered. It took around 7 months for seizure/collapsing to stop. Thank you for highlighting this subject and I hope your dog recovers fully ❤

Idk about Advantix. But i know ive seen several vids from people who used NexGuard and their dogs went into seizures and got very ill. When i ask my vet about it who push it. They said it can happen but its rare. Idc how rare it is im not risking 1 of my pups being a rare one. I just stopped using all of it period. I use heartguard only to avoid any kind of worms of any kind. Glad to see hes recovering. You all do what you think is right no matter what anyone says.

We stopped all medications and vaccines years ago. The only thing we do is the rabies vaccine. Our dog boarder is wonderful and only requires rabies. She used to work at a vet and she said if you knew what was in all those medications and vaccines, you would never give it to a dog again. We had already stopped before she told us that but it was eye opening. Vets, just like doctors, push meds and food for money. Our dogs can not make their own medical decisions so they rely on us. We have never had an issue and we have had big dogs since we were 20 years old and I am now 48. I just don't trust any medications now. I feel like a crazy conspiracy person, which I am not. But when it comes to my dogs, I want all raw food and all natural remedies. I pray for you guys every day. No dog parent should have to go through this.
