    • @DB-os6on
      @DB-os6on 17 днів тому

      Yes. He never speaks poorly of others. Pete Townsend and Keith Richards just trash everyone they speak of, mostly. Ask either about any rival such as Page, Clapton, etc and they just bash them. Jimmy always finds something good to say about literally anyone he is asked about. Pete and Keith are both basically glorified rhythm guitarists...neither plays anything terribly difficult. Keith writes brilliant songs, never cared for The Who though. But Page is the full package. Plays rhythm AND lead, and improvises live to push the music to new places. Class act and my fave guitarist along with Gilmour of Pink Floyd

    People need to understand the significance of the 1:08 mark. That is the first time SINCE 1969 that his original Tele has been seen! In 1971, Jimmy's friend painted over his Tele and ruined it and it was assumed he threw the body out, but then to see it in this video, brought a tear to my eye

      Yea. Very interesting. It would appear that sometime between when the guitar was painted and "wrecked" and now it was stripped bare (??). Not much mention of the pickups although they did show what appeared to be something pretty vintage. I also thought that the original neck went to his brown B-Bender telecaster. Did he swap the necks back or at least pull it to measure it up? I would like to see these details brought to light in the near future.

    • @digthemusicman483
      @digthemusicman483 5 років тому +8

      @@marcusharrigan6879 Yea, he stripped it bare, haha. Also, apparently when the guitar was "ruined," it was ruined specifically because the pickups were painted over, apparently only the neck pickup worked. But he sanded it down this past year and has apparently repainted it and the original neck, which ended up on his B Bender Tele, is seen here in the video. So I'd say his is back together again haha

      And remember that when a boss gives you praise that just means you're underpaid and don't realize it. Even God will tell you that praise doesn't amount to sh*t when you're being nailed to the cross.

    I remember well. It was 46 years ago. I would sit in front of a console stereo that my mom had moved into my room. Guitar in hand I would listen and try to copy every song on Led Zeppelins 3rd and 4th albums along with the soundtrack from The Song Remains The Same. A few years later I acquired my first stratocaster and fell in love with Fender. Today I'm a 60 year guitarist/mandolinist. My main guitar that I love and cherish is my '85 Squire stratocaster. I've owned other Strats, but since '93 "Baby" has been my love. Very soon I plan to purchase my very first telecaster. I been putting off buying a tele for about 35 years. I love Jimmy Page and I love Fender. I actually have the Fender logo tattooed on my left arm between my wrist and elbow, LOL! Yeah, I'm an idiot.

    Man do I love Jimmy Page. EVH and later Rhoads were my top guitar heroes (and still are to an extent). Page is Gandalf. The Mighty One. Some of the most iconic riffs in history, yet you could pick out a few on your guitar. His playing was accessible. He is the greatest IMHO. Love you Jimmy Page. Thank you for being a BIG part of my soundtrack. Your playing is lifeblood.

    as a person who forms personal appreciation for those who I admire artistically, its great to see jimmy so delighted and moving around doing what his true will beckoned him to do. he's remarkably youthful for a man who's lived such a heavy life, I gues is true "condition not age".

    Jimmy Page you rock! It is because of you and a few others that I have always wanted to play guitar. I am 58 now and I am finally doing it. I would be happy if I could just play 1/3 of how you play. My hats off to you sir. Thank you and your band mates(all band mates) for all the amazing music and inspirations over the years. I wish you love and health sir.
