@@rykehuss3435 That would be because their objective was not to destroy the enemy, but to protect the fleet. Galactica could have won plenty of the engagements she was faced with, but how would she repair the damage sustained in the process? Not a good trade.

They only came back as a publisher in 2019. They did not develop this game, merely published it. The game itself was developed by a one-man indie and was only picked up by Microprose a short while ago.

It's funny because you can build a ship that's a quarter of the weight, guzzles a third of the fuel, is more agile, cheaper, and still murders 10/all with ease. Big ships are easy. Efficient ships are master class.

We definitely need more missile types: with ships like this, zeniths are a bit underwhelming: who needs them anyway, if a HE barrage hits just as hard for free?
Faster, more damage, dodge chance, more health, all sorts of things can be done for ship to ship missiles, all with their respective costs and limitations of course. You could have huge 2x8 missiles that could be launched to ensure that capital ships will die, they have more health and damage to go with it but are costly.
the larger issue is the problem of E-War. with such limited operations in electronic warfare, and the requirement of Radar Off... ...well, you'd need a lot of very cheap AAMs.
Even 57mm cannons are good enough to deal with missiles. And airburst munitions from heavy artillery can deal with missiles. The CIWS can also be used to destroy 180mm projectiles.
everytime I watch a high fleet video i am reminded how much I love the world. Not to mention, this really is a symphony of guns. But yeah imagine sending a fleet against a single ship and all they can report is. "we singed their hull, I say we call it a day."

Defending empirical construction assetts while still in berth, her 180mm canons and flak cannons created an iron dome around key shipyards, protecting them until her ammo stores ran dry. The Caprica and her crew met their end as rebel sympathizers infiltrated the now defenseless dock yards and destroyed the retaining wall of the berth. The ship and 5000 crew were buried alive, sometimes you can still here the banging of wrenches and power tools of the trapped trying to escape their home now made tomb.
reminds me of "gratuitous space battles" and Cosmoteer in its mechanics, if unknown to some, look them up, good fun. Will grab a copy of this, I do love these types of things.

@@S-ACV i do agree with you on that point. Forcefields in itself is not a bad concept, just that its mostly portrayed boring. It is like this passiv ”do it all shield” that wins if you have the bigger number and looses when they have the bigger number. Might aswell be rolling out the rock, paper and scissors xD
This ship would be one hell of a drain on your budget and what is the gun placement on that ship to bear that many guns on both left and right. Careful use of armor-piercing ammo can deal with any threats even Sevastapol class cruises can be dealt with relatively quickly.
I dealt with a SG of four with am airstrike (taking 2 down) and a paladin which ran out of fuel. It was glorious! Btw, good thing the enemies never use incendiary or AP ammo (at least, so far, they've been using proximity fuse and HE)
@@lorenzocassaro3054 Thank the devs for that! It's my go-to ammo choice for though targets! Carriers are the way to go in this game and I only ever fight weakened enemies or was surprised by unavoidable fights. I also noticed Tac groups and Strike groups purchase from the city they land on. The Aircraft Tac group I fought rotated around 3 cities and all those cities either have lower than normal sales of Bombs and missiles or none at all.

It's called Highfleet. just think of it as 2D from the depth with a Russian touch.

You can buy custom ammo, it generally more effective than default one but cost increase drastically with shell size
Basic ammo for each caliber/type of gun is free and unlimited.
