  • The Hammer is a massive drop in the Coler Preserve in Bentonville. It's bigger than anything I've ever hit and I'm pretty nervous about it! This is a story of how I conquered my fears!
Did Yuka send the drop? She tells the story here: • How to Send a 10ft Drop!

This was my thinking as well. Everything in Bentonville is built so well. I have a 134/140 bike and never bottomed out anywhere in Bentonville. Drop the Hammer, as well as everything else, was made perfectly to meet your bike so smoothly. Love your vids, btw.

@@benwigginsbikes ...It's about 12 where your rear wheel touches down, but the thing that gets everyone is the mind trip with how far down the bottom of the transition is. What you see leading up to the end of the drop, is a good 30 feet below you.

@@willbros1499 so true! It is a serious sightline mind game. I was out there on a Tuesday and was dying to follow someone into the wooden "warm-up drop" to the right of Hammer (if you are standing on the drop). I spent 6 days around Bentonville last October and loved everything about it.

Nice. Thanks for recapping your demons on camera. There have been FAR MORE CRASHES on the drop just BEFORE Drop the Hammer, believe it or not. FAR more. People come into that and think they can coast it, but it's slightly uphill and you have to pedal on the wood unless you're really going to hop off the end. One of the last clips from the side showed you both on it, pedaling to the end. Riders don't keep enough speed, and eat crap. They softened up the transition and built a little case pad there, but it didn't used to have that...crash city.
I can't tell you how many people come to Bentonville after watching the videos online, and they can't wait to go hit Drop the Hammer. I help them with directions, and then they write me back later. "Whoa....that was WAY bigger that I thought it was going to be! I rode up to that and said...Heck no!" It's the mind trip that gets them. That is a pretty deep ravine, so it looks like you're dropping off the end of the world.
