When I saw this I literally got chills. I couldn't stop smiling. I've been a Knicks fan all my life and this, along with Marbury becoming a Knick was one of the best moments in Knicks history for me since the Ewing days.
After so long i still get chills watching this video. This single moment wiped away all the pain i had from the Isiah era i watched him destroy the Knicks even through all the losing MSG was always on my tv. The days where being a Knick fan made you a social outcast. Melo wanted to play here and that meant alot to me someone who wanted to represnt my city to the fullest and the standing ovation he got when introdced was amazing. Knicks ^^^
Man what a time it was the heat big 3 first season, D rose MVP season, Melo to the Knicks, Thunder core taking the next step, Dirk going on a rampage in the playoffs and Kobe 10-11 season was a movie
Going into the 21-22 season knicks have a strong young core and bench this year being the 4th seed last year they are building a culture and a team its a good time to be a knicks fans things are looking up !!
Not really, the Knicks still failed to do anything with him, they have absolutely wasted Melo's prime. Just like the Rangers, the organization only cares about flash and selling tickets, not success in the standings..
I got chills when it actually happened...just watched it again for the first time since that day and felt exactly the same...This is definitely one of the most exciting sports days in my 25 years of living.
6 years went by so quick i still remember sitting in my room watching this wishing i was their such a great night of basketball and now phill ruined everything BUT KP
I've been a Nets fan for 16 years. I love the acquisition of Deron WIlliams and everything my team has done. Nevertheless, this introduction give me the chills. Let the rivalry begin!
I feel like they played me with so much hype and I feel like a sucker for falling for all the emotion of that "I'm Coming Home" song. All that for 1 playoff series win. Melo was talented as hell but in the end didn't hold a candle to Patrick. And not even Patrick could get that ring. Everything just seems so far out of reach.
@@billny33 bro Patrick carried us to game 7 of the Finals with a subpar supporting cast. Not his fault Starks went ice cold. If we had just even given Pat a slightly better roster we could of won 2 rings in the 90s.
there was a time when the Nicks looked like the best team in the leauge: Alan Houston, John Starks, Pat Ewing, Grandma Johnson, Sprewell...but they never made it out of the East - back in the days the stronger conference of the two. In particular more brutal. Think about this kids: when the season started, players were in Playoff mode when games were on schedule like: Heat vs Bulls. Nicks vs Pacers...etc. Games were so physical -also because guards weren' t quick enough to escape big men. These days Big men are leaner, quicker and more skilled but nowhere near a heavyweight fighter like back in them days. Just different - that' s all.
Jesus Christ this kills me. Melo was the reason I became a Knicks fan. I was 8 when they traded for him and was at that game. First game I ever went and by far the best.
