You can actually remove the clicks on those outemu blues if sand off the bumps on the part of stem that pushes the copper conductors inside the switch.
@@junQuijote i dont see that on my box, but I have tried to remove the switch from the PCB once, it did get removed, so I assume that means its hotswap? i was able to put the switch back in, and it works.

And if you're doing the spray painting somewhere out in the open (which you are), you really don't have to put the case in a "closed" box , only one side to where the spray might end up is enough. overall looking good, good job! Hope to see further mods in the future ^-^
Hi Sim Pilot - Thank you for your concern and suggestion. Do note I was wearing a facemask during the entirety of the painting and was doing it in an open space. Nonetheless, I will wear gloves and eye protection in future mods :) Just for reference: - I have no option but to do the painting on our tiny balcony because that's the only open area at my place (I stay in a condo) - I need to use a closed box in order for impurities to lessen ( I stay in a VERY humid country ). Also due to point 1 Again thanks for the inputs. :D
Hi Gavin, not sure about the technicalities of the paint. The brand of the paint is 7CT ( says Interior/Exterior in the canister). I think any spray paint will do as long as you sand the case prior to painting. Pro tip: try to do multiple light coats. I did a rookie mistake to do heavy coating ( took a while before the case was fully dry )
Mostly yes. But since the red dragon board has north facing LED’s they will not support Cherry style keycaps. Anything like SA, OEM, DSA should be fine.

@@m4sterwolf880 for the most part, besides the shift and the enter key, most of the keycaps will fit. But you may have trouble with stabilizers. I don’t know if you guys have a different length spacebar, or if the stab length changes because of the shift
not a shotgun mic bro. it's a cardioid mic. i don't have a desk stand and that's the best i can get from this cheap as mount hehe. don't worry the orientation is correct. the face of the mic is in front of the keyboard.

Hi Aaswin - I bought from a local thrift store (don quijote / don donki). It's an anti slip mat. As an alternative, you can check also your local art store maybe they have an craft foam sheet.

Yes, you can! Unfortunately, I don't have time to desolder (this is an ollder version of the 522 where pcb is non hotswap)

@@Lailaic kumara boards produced around 2018 should have hotswap versions. Best to check your box, it should say 'diy' 'hotswap' or something similar

Few coats of paint should last you a while. Also depends on how humid your room is.

What grit of sand paper do u use?
I used 320 grit. 220 would be better. Apply small coats of paint. Sand each layer if needed

Hi the foam is to reduce hollow sound from the bottom case. It's a nice to have but definitely removes a bit of the hight pitch noise when typing.
