For the tape mod please don't use ductape as it can harm the pcb, when doing the mod you should use masking tape/ painters tape. Besides that good job on the board!
What about electrical tape?
@@AspexFPS I've seen people use it but they put some painters tape on first then the electrical tape over it

Painters tape has no stick so go with masking tape

this switch puller is well known for breaking the cheaper switches like the outemu ones. it happened to me as well i have both the same keyboard and switch puller
Iirc it's not the switch puller it's how you are pulling it because Outemu sockets are really tight, and if you pull slow, instead of fast, you are basically just ripping the socket out

Are the AKKOs made by Oetemu? I was under the impression that only Oetemu's will fit.

try pulling straight up with a bit more force when removing the switches. If you try to slowly jiggle them out like that you're bound to break some housing.

How did you get around the RD extra bit they solder onto the PCB joints? I had to pop those out one by one to get my holy pandas on there. They’d be the outemu housings that wouldn’t support other switches. Wondering what I missed haha

If they are not transparent, yes they can't pass through and you will get only the neon underneath.

hey sorry if this is a dumb question I'm new to the scene of modding keyboards and have this keyboard and like it just wanna make it better and more personalized for me my question is in the video you talk about clipping the stabilizers what exactly are you clipping off them?
You are just clipping off a useless tiny piece of plastic off the stabilizer to make it sound just that much better.
@@v_crowbar ended up buying pre clipped got the build done about a month and a half ago and am loving it for sure I used cream blue switches tho

@@v_crowbar creamy blues are a tactile 38g (don’t quote me on the 38g I think that’s what it was😂) and there decently loud for sure but they got a nice sound to them for sure
If i do none of this and just switch switches with akko switches. Will it still work?
The other mods really help a lot especially the holee mod(for stabilizers) if you dont add a foam youll not get the thock you get in a good keyboard either and you need to lube your akko switches (factory lubbed is not the best)
