What I love about this song is the fact it is about repenting. Finding the truth is never easy because evil is so easy.

Very powerful and a great history lesson. YES< we're connected no matter what race, color, or language. Many of us share blood from others without knowing, BUT guess who knows? GOD!

This is so beautiful that everybody on earth has the choice to believe in the One True God who made the universe. It's a choice and I choose to believe.

yes the Pentatonics is the secret truth of God as the infinite spiral of Perfect Fifths. This is found in all human cultures! It got lost with modern science using logarithms. The Pentatonic scale is the truth of reality. It's called "noncommutativity" now in science - being rediscovered.

God is a very interesting God. He allowed black slavery to create such amazing music. Black folks we have been through a lot, but let us let go of the pass and see that God has given us a message to the world, hold on, and keep climbing cause one day it will all be over.

Urban legend. John Newton didn't write the melody. He wrote the words. The melody wasn't attached to the tune until after his death, so, he didn't hear it from African slaves, much less make it a song. The melody is Celtic tune. There is no historical record of the black keys called the "slave scale", which is merely the pentatonic scale, common to many cultures.

celts were slaves to the Anglo-saxons hence Bacon's Rebellion of Africans and European "bond servants" in 1676 and indeed the truth of music found in all cultures is the Perfect Fifth as the infinite spiral of fifths making up the Pentatonic scale. It's only in Platonic modern science that music got twisted into irrational magnitude logarithms. In science now the secret of the pentatonic scale is called noncommutativity. thanks

The Jig is Up ! The Ashkanazi Khazars are clearly identified as Amaleck, Idumiea and Edom!
The true Yahudim of the TransAtlantic Slave Trade are awakening in Droves. Moreover, we know the real name of the Most High, Exodus 3:14 ~ Ahayah Ashar Ahayah~ = {I Am That I Am} !
Edom , Amaleck and Idumeia are in deep Deep DEEP TROUBLE !!!
The Sins of their Fathers have reached Unto Heaven and are Coming Home to Roost !

Get your facts straight on John Newton and the melody. But I have to say your story telling is very dramatic-wrong-but still dramatic and it just turns this story into a fairy tale.
