I am a 70-year-old Londoner, who now lives right on the periphery of S E London and Kent after 29 tears living in the heart of S E London,2 miles from Central London. In 7 hours I am off the other way, for an 8-mile walk with friends starting in Ditchling Beacon, the highest point in East Sussex. I agree with all your comments about our wonderful Country which I will always call England. :)

I was concerned about you after break up, you seemed defeated and lost. I dont worry anymore. Travelling alone has often been my only choice. One rhing i learned from that is i ciuld spend time with myself and actually started to appreciate me tome and enjoying being me. I know you see benefits to being the real master of the road ahead. I lived over the road from Buckmore Park by the airport. We also had a grass track and speedway track in the 60s Shame you didnt go down the road a piece. Lots of places that were in Dickens books and where he lived, also Norman castle, Cathedral dating from 1080, and a number of Napoleonic Forts.
I'm a Brit, a Londoner infact. I now live in Ireland. If you make it to the Emerald Isle it would be great to catch up with you over a pint or three of course.

As an ex-pat from the UK now living in Australia I was reminded of how beautiful and welcoming we are, and the peaceful countryside up North (I'm from Yorkshire) that I loved to bike around and just be with myself or with my partner. Our counties each have their pro’s and con’s but we also share a LOT of similarities and a great relationship, I hope you get to come back soon (as do a lot of the landlords of the pubs you visited I assume!)

I have really enjoyed watching all your videos on your amazing visit to my home. I am so glad you had such a great time here and it was terrific to see you become more and more comfortable as the days went by. I was quite emotional by the end. Come back soon and hopefully you can bring Daniel too.
Loved watching your journey, Spencer. As an ex-pat from the UK now living in Australia I was reminded of how beautiful and welcoming we are, and the peaceful countryside up North (I'm from Yorkshire) that I loved to bike around and just be with myself or with my partner. Thanks for the memories of that. PS - I don't miss the English weather and the horrible winters so I'll keep just keep the memories while enjoying the year round sun here in Oz. :) xx

Classy ending with that quote from Harry - Glad you had such a great time here Spencer, but a lot of the recognition of how great a time you had should come from yourself, you pushed yourself to do/see/experience the wider UK and not just the typical tourist stuff (which is perfectly fine too!).
Our counties each have their pro’s and con’s but we also share a LOT of similarities and a great relationship, I hope you get to come back soon (as do a lot of the landlords of the pubs you visited I assume!)
