Surprised Sanguine's not on this list over some other choices. It's a bloody nightmare when CC immune mobs start spamming hardcasts in the pools, especially if they're minibosses on fortified weeks. (LOOKING AT YOU, TAUREN LADY BEFORE THE FINAL BOSS IN RLP)
Pridefull was a really good affix even, Our Tank had so much fun making new routes to perfect the buff Timing. How is that on the list and sanguine Not xD
Sanguine was so toxic when released, it made me stop tanking the entire expansion during Sanguine Depths, small corridors with sanguine, or stunning a pack, and one minion dies, oof, pool heals all the stunned mobs to full, super annoying
FORTIFIED + GRIVEOUS + NECROTIC LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE MOST STUPID COMBINATION OF THE WHOLE GAME. I remember back in SL because these 3 things, it was almost impossible do Necrotic Wake.
Yeah, it was bad. By that point the difference in tank durability and DPS durability was such that DPS would be oneshot. And once the mob got out of melee range getting aggro again became much more complicated. It was handleable, but also stressful since it make you feel like a failure. Sanguine was also horrible, since many things with that affix should not have had it and moving mobs is a relatively rare ability. But I think I hated Bursting the most though.
For me as main tank prideful was by far the worst affix Blizz ever made, it was so bad that it almost made me quit tanking , everything was about the tank, they had so much responsibility, were expected to know so much and have so many addons , it was ridicules.
I quit maining a tank due to prideful and shadowlands ultimately was the exp where I quit wow. It was too difficult to the point where it wasn’t fun and then through in toxic dps who just blame the tank and I was done.
With regards to overflowing it was not "super bad" for rdruid. Rdruid/disc was probably the best equipped healers to deal with the affix, as it had a high level or determinism with your hps output and HoT overhealing is rather insignificant . Hpaladin had frustrations with the affix because holy shock and their casted heals had high healing variance and had a tendency to overheal very large amounts, overflowing was largely an issue for healers who do really high healing single spells, not the opposite, which is why it was a push week affix.
at a certain point as a holy paladin i would legit just have so much throughput it didn't matter if i crit a shield on them for 8 million and i would just yknow....do it again and take it off. the affix was really negligible especially toward the end of legion.
I mained Resto Druid and played it far too much in Legion and I wasn't even good at the game but I never ever minded Overflowing. It was kinda just there for me never really causing issues.
I dont think anyone remembers original quaking that did unavoidable damage every 20 seconds. If you ever died in a dungeon as a class without healing spells, you would just chain die on the runback until you somehow convince your healer to come back for you.
I absolutely loved Shrouded in season 4 of Shadowlands. It was nice stacking the one stat over the course of the run, it made some pathing a bit more engaging, and instead of just universally making every pull harder or easier, it made some pulls easier and some pulls harder. Example: The first Ogron pull in Iron Docks was easier on higher keys than lower keys (assuming you're geared appropriately) because the dreadlord replaced the ogron and removed the ogron's giant group wide aoe. I agree most are mega poop though.
I remember absolutely hating skittish as a fury war back in legion. Class was all about popping bigass bursts at the start of every pack.. oh how i miss you og odyn's fury. But it was esp worse when we had our druid tank lol.
S1 Dragonflight had some weeks that I couldnt believe they did to us. At the height of them trying to bring back players they would just put is in torture hell for weeks in a row 😂
quaking was also awesome in dungeons with portals, like the 2nd half of Tazavesh, where you could get very unlikely timing and have quaking kill your party while everyone was loading into the next area. yay
Incorporeal is super annoying, especially because the adds keep spawning way behind, having to rotate the canera always around to check, run back at corners and stairs, and so on.
Played Rdruid when Overflowing was a thing, literally a no-affix for this spec. The only thing you needed to be aware of were Swiftmend crits, apart from that your next hot tick always just cancelled the shield from previous tick. On the other hand, Hpal's and Hpriest's big crit heals were a nightmare with this affix.
Huh? Overflowing was non existent for resto Druid because one tick of hot applying shield, other removes it. It was nightmare for shamas and holy palas
Good video! I would take out thundering though and swap it with infested, the seasonal affix from BFA season 1. Also for quaking I would move that up 1-2 spots because I think you forgot the most annoying part about it. Back in BfA quaking wasn’t only restricted to in combat, and it hit really hard, so generally after a few pulls when your healer needed mana you had to sit and drink and you could get hit with a quaking that interrupted your drink while the dps tried frantically to top themselves with food since the healer was OOM.
I don’t mind affixes but I LOATHE affixes that combo into making keys dead for a week. Also side note quaking made me rage more than anything in wow dogshit affix.
Hi there, I've been following you long time ago, I really like ur vids. Is there a chance to see any other video from Henrik Kraus, I rly love that mage. I liked the video where he goes into a dungeon in Wod😂 ty so much for keep doing videos. Almost all the youtoubers I usted to follow since I start playin wow have gone. You are one of the few that keeps going. So really thank you for your time and dedication.
Rather disappointed that Infested wasn’t a far and away 20 tiers above #1, since the affix did literally nothing but make the game worse and every dungeon slower, both on high and low levels
The part about Necrotic being especially bad for BDKs. I was tanking back in Legion and found that AMS was a fantastic tool to help deal with. Stacks would get high, pop AMS (no more stacks can be applied and can't be refreshed). Legion and the legendary's also meant being able to swap in/out pieces of gear for all kinds of stuff. Few players did it. But it was a lot of fun. I honestly miss the whole 3 chest reward system from Legion
The worst thing from Thundering was the chat messages of dbm. Because of that I was never able to tell in the beginning what is what till I learnt it....
I wish they got rid of ALL affixes once and for all and just let the dungeons increase in difficulty strictly by damage done and health per key level. No need to complicate it.
Back in legion our healer pulled some stray adds for percent in Kara. Brought them into the chess event and bolstered it! Never had an 8 minute chess event fight until that day lol.
I played wow since just before TBC, i was leveling in swamp of sorrows when TBC 'launched' and everyone was experiencing it for the first time, so i was a noob for much of TBC. By the end of the expansion i'd cleared black temple and our guild was server first in sunwell. I hate mythic plus, i've only been in a handful of times.. its just too stressful and stupid, its this esports mode shoved into wow when we already have pvp. Nothing about the affixes is fun, and even with a group of friends i'd rather not.. in all situations ever do it. Went back to play classic, did Naxx and got atiesh that was fun. Some of those classic instances with alts, and with friends who were high as fucking kites as our healers.. that was fun- or at least funny.. when our tank just doesn't get healed and we all have to flee and healer comes back "wait guys whats happening?" lol Dunno, Mythic plus is a square peg it doesn't fit everyone but it seems like the affixes are punishments for players its really stupid, they should scale with the key level rather than be set numbers.
ZA with a group/guild who couldn't finish black temple was a challenge.. same group into the isle dungeon on heroic was fun too.. those mods hit so hard back then! aoeing them was fun!
After a long break after legion I restarted BFA at the beguinning of 8.3 with my trusty protection paladin. I was learning the route until +10 ... then I learned about the +10 mandatory affixe that completly change the route with the pylons mini boss to skip packs and forced me to learn a whole new set of routes again. This was very bad, especially when you arrive at the final boss and you realise you forgot an obelisks and now the boss is even harder... On tyranical.
Haaard disagree it was prob my fav affix of all time, it made the dungs much more interactive and fun and these skips allowed so much more variety to routes etc, also granting you to play it with the last boss (which was often done). 10/10 affix imo
6:58 thats not true,in necrotic week, absolutly 0 tank want play key,0,nada,nothing a entiere group could wait many hours for nothing, because 90% of tank skip necrotic week,it was a dead week for absolutely everyone, not just the tanks.
Teeming wasn't too bad on the lower levels, but putting skittish on top of that, yuck. Only place I ever had any trouble with that affix ever was Atal'Dazar with that triple Pterrodax pack before/after the middle (for teeming weeks only.) Pretty much had to be on it for interrupts or get feared left and right and potentially pull the middle pack.
Quaking should be higher lol. Trying to heal with it was hell on some pulls and often was a 100% chance to wipe. There were cases where you had to hit a perfect rotation of healing just to keep up with the damage and suddenly you have to stop casting for an extended period of time with no way to respond to the situation.
prideful was my favorite. making sure you do the right routes to spawn prideful right before a boss on tyrannical and stacking lust with it was amazing. i remember in s1 shadowlands my holy pally would top dps on those fights using ashen hallow with those buffs lol
yeah every affix should have that component. What if explosive could also dmg enemies, what if sanguine changes after 10 seconds to dmg enemies and heal the players, its so easy to fix and adds much more room for strategy and gameplay
I find it kinda funny that you used dk aus your example for tanks having a bad time with necrotic, when warriors were the ones with the real issues. - Monks and Dhs had high avoidance and would generally receive very few stacks and have mobility to dip on a whim. - Paladins had bubble taunt and two bubbles to get rid of it whenever they felt like they needed it - Dks had ams which would make you immune to getting any more stacks, so as long as you weren't having a pull with both casters AND melee enemies you had no issues whatsoever and you had a crazy slow if things didn't work out - Druids had no crazy healing and were taking very little damage to begin with - Warriors had their mobility and that was it. If you think they had no self healing, necrotic also reduced absorbs, which was warriors bread and butter beyond shield block. You make a mistake, you die. Warriors had it the worst and it wasn't even close... Source: I played all 6 tanks on a mythic level at the time. PS: Skittish was a free affix for anything except for druid tanks. Teeming on the other hand was a nightmare on its own...
"Oh man I can't wait for (insert affix here) because it's so much fun" said no one ever. I think that's the problem that Blizzard needs to address. I think affixes should reward players rather than hinder them. Buff the heck out of fortified and tyrannical to compensate for the difficulty then, I think those are probably fine to change things up week-to-week.
For me personally Explosive was the most annoying Affix in Shadowlands. In some dungeons it was flat out unfair or almost overwhelming or bugged at first. Tazavesh (Stormheim part), Halls of Atonement last room before endboss or when the re-introduced Karazhan. The first week with Explosive and Westfall Story was undoable for us in 14+ Keys. Every dead mob spawned orbs and additionaly you had to avoid the boss mechanics aswell. They patched it a few days into the Affix week. And in Dragonflight it is by far the most annoying Affix (for me as a healer) is Afflicted. Every few seconds you have to heal/dispell a f*** annoying ghost. You can LoS it and DPS can dispel as well but still it is a pain in the ass. Especially in PUGs. Incorporeal is more manageble
I cannot think of any worse affixes than Incorporeal/Afflicted. Not only does this force some kind of trust in players (especially pugs) to actually handle the affix by investing in specific talents just to stop them, but it also makes a few to several classes completely undesirable for the week. Warriors and Rogues especially have it rough, having no cures for Afflicted and their solutions for Incorporeal don't have the cooldowns to counter every wave.
Are you really surprised ? I mean, that is what blizzard has been actively doing for over 10 years now, expanding on things people dont like, and ignore the things people do like
I liked teeming in the way that it changed the "route" that you re supposed to do on some dungeons the weeks that it was active, but on pair with skittish it was very deadly yeah. But it wouldnt be bad if you took skittish away
Idk i would swap pridefull with Sanguine 😁, otherwise i completely agree with this list 😁🤜🤛 but you forgot that bolstering was affecting bosses as well, so if you accidently pull trash into boss that would cost you mostlikely a wipe 😁
I love tyrannical, but that's because boss fights and mechanics is the #1 reason I even play WoW. But I understand that it is very punishing on any wipes, and many of the dungeon bosses become 5+ minutes of monotonous rotation.
I rather prefer Tyrannical over Fortified. I like it when the challenge comes from fighting the unique bosses, as opposed to efficiently churning through the stuff between them. It just feels more fun to me.
this vid popped up on my feed and I had no idea M+ was so horrible! I just started this x-pac and now ALL affixes are gone next x-pac; guess i dodged a massive bullet
I had arguably my best push group during prideful and it made it decently fun, until you get up to the point where its just better to ignore it all together
Imagine Blizzard having the opportunity to get rid of bolstering, raging, and sanguine and they instead got rid of entangling and volcanic. I don’t understand how many times we have to say we don’t like bolstering, raging, sanguine. We play the game, not them.
Because they hate you. That's why. They don't have any respect for anyone that plays this game. They view you as an inconvenience in the way of the money they're entitled to. Like most companies these days.
This video really brings attention to the fact that Hiru mains healer usually and not tank, what with Necrotic at 9 but overflowing at 1. Love your videos but man, you are such a healer. :p
I thought Inspiring was rather good, you could always cc it via a polymorth and just pull the mobs back. In a matter of fact, i actually loved when it was inspiring because it was rather easy to focus down.
Bolstering ain't that bad, it requires strategy but not as much as Prideful or downright no strategy just suck it up like Necrotic. The dungeons that suffered the most from Bolstering were those with issues due to mob density, and they were annoying with most affixes anyway like the Waycrest Manor or Tol Dagor tunnels.
When i look first place and not see (i forgot its name since i left the game a while ago) that affix that makes if u drop below 90% health u gain a bleed effect that last until u are healed up, and STACK 4 times!!! GOD that fakin affix was a nightmare, specially being a disc priest, since u dont have any great one target heal at those times. I get why overflowing could be up to that.. but for overflowing u just need to be careful, and if u messed up, just wait to the group drop a bit of heal to heal the absorption shield and the actual dmg... but with the other affix, u are healing non-stop, at the point where after any pack of trash, ppl had to eat to heal faster TW T
I still cant figure out how bolstering and sanguine exist in this game especially because ele shamans get F-ed over and over by having earthquake as only uncapped AoE and tanks are kiting all the time...
Skittish wasn't that bad but however i got tank alts and its annoying that i keep on spamming taunts to get my threat back and other affixes are the worst are Afflicted and Incorporeal.
Man idc what anyone says. BOLSTERING is by FAR the WORST and the most unfit afixx of all time. They know about this, but they just don't remove it because they want ppl "take a week off".
for me.. is understandable u choose healing afixes over any other.. but by far the worst combo was bolstering and reinforced... MIX WITH the one that made the packs bigger.. i dont remeber the name.. in legion those 3 were the main reason of fear.. u cant kill anything without buffing the living shit out of all the other mobs.. i remeber 2 places where this was awfull.. cathedral and tower of the guardens.. those 2 dungeons were IMPOSIBLE.. cuz just the start had like 7 mobs.. xD and the middle part had like 12 mobs.. dude that on 15 was imposible.. afixces teeming/bolstering/empowered..
Had that today, she healer 50% lol, fun mechanic
I know what you mean and I remember feeling relieved killing her, cause dealing with that shit on a team with minimal kicks was harder than Kyrakka 😂
Pridefull was a really good affix even, Our Tank had so much fun making new routes to perfect the buff Timing. How is that on the list and sanguine Not xD

I remember the days of Griveous and Necrotic combo, that was a week I took a break from wow and played Witcher 3.
that made me left tank
Oh you mean you DIDN'T like doing your job of tanking and instead playing kite simulator? I can't imagine why....
100% true , in Legion if Necrotic is up , tanks just took a 1 week break
Yep grievous necrotic week was always the hardest to do m+ for the box, no groups
FORTIFIED + GRIVEOUS + NECROTIC
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE MOST STUPID COMBINATION OF THE WHOLE GAME.
I remember back in SL because these 3 things, it was almost impossible do Necrotic Wake.
Teeming/Skittish was THE WORST! I hated it so much in Legion as a tank main.
I hope they fired whoever came up with those. Sanguine as well.
Yeah, it was bad. By that point the difference in tank durability and DPS durability was such that DPS would be oneshot. And once the mob got out of melee range getting aggro again became much more complicated. It was handleable, but also stressful since it make you feel like a failure. All you had to do was invite a hunter or rogue. Affix handled.
Agreed. Skittish as an arcane mage, ripping threat constantly made it so awful to M+ those weeks.
Same, during those weeks, i did my ONE M+ with guildies and that was it.
My friends and I used to call bolstering "build-a-boss" week lol
When that Guardian Druid enters the Halls of Atonement that week...
Here before Max reacts to it
I totally expected infested to be at number one and it's not even on the list???
For me as main tank prideful was by far the worst affix Blizz ever made, it was so bad that it almost made me quit tanking , everything was about the tank, they had so much responsibility, were expected to know so much and have so many addons , it was ridicules.

You can tell who never in their lives have ever played a melee class. Not even an honorable mention to storming.
Sanguine plotarmor continues to amaze me...
I dont think anyone remembers original quaking that did unavoidable damage every 20 seconds. If you ever died in a dungeon as a class without healing spells, you would just chain die on the runback until you somehow convince your healer to come back for you.

Good affixes? In this economy?
hot take - Thundering
I absolutely loved Shrouded in season 4 of Shadowlands. It was nice stacking the one stat over the course of the run, it made some pathing a bit more engaging, and instead of just universally making every pull harder or easier, it made some pulls easier and some pulls harder. The one from bfa I guess when you could teleport and have alternative route. I liked that
I quite enjoyed prideful. Required good planning and was a nice test for you (as a healer), and then gives you a reward of big damage
Uh, that was a tank's challenge. How much to pull to take advantage of prideful.
I absolutely despite tyrannical. Most garbage affix...

I can’t believe they kept the dog crap affixes for the war within and got rid of the ones players prefer. So dumb.
Are you really surprised ? I mean, that is what blizzard has been actively doing for over 10 years now, expanding on things people dont like, and ignore the things people do like
The combination of Sanguine, Bolstering and Teeming in Arcus... The spiders broke me....
And yes in Legion the affixes were random..
I liked teeming in the way that it changed the "route" that you re supposed to do on some dungeons the weeks that it was active, but on pair with skittish it was very deadly yeah. But it wouldnt be bad if you took skittish away
Maybe I was just bad, but back when I played discipline, I always took a break during Grievous weeks
Necrotic was way worse for warriors. Bdk had ams to reset the stacks and way more parry on big pulls.
As a person who only raided in vanilla, it's funny to discover that having to manage aggro is now something devs avoid
As a MW Monk, Overflowing was the absolute BANE of my existence because we built for crit back then.
tank main here necrotic was my favorite affix would legit do keys in 4-6 pulls depending on the key so sad that they got rid of it
this vid popped up on my feed and I had no idea M+ was so horrible! I just started this x-pac and now ALL affixes are gone next x-pac; guess i dodged a massive bullet
blood dks were able to reset necrotic while it was plague damage due to AMS preventing more stacks from being applied.
Video idea: Top 10 underwhelming last boss of raids. mogu'shan vaults comes to mind as it doesnt even feel like a last boss
I had arguably my best push group during prideful and it made it decently fun, until you get up to the point where its just better to ignore it all together
Blizz: How can we make dungeons more soul crushing and obnoxious??
Blizz:
I'll be honest....the worst 'affix' for me was the ticking clock. My brain just turns to mush when I have a ticking clock over my head.
Players nowadays don't event know what we have gone throught with all these affixes :')
unnerfed storming in shadowlands, was a desaster for melees
While I don’t think it deserves a spot on the list, I despised Storming as a dedicated Melee player.
God damn that is the worst ad in the history of advertising
Its really bad i agree, you can tell geeks are not salesmen
No mention of the ghosts spawning and fixing on someone or sanguine?
25:32 lmfao watching the tank go in
Imagine Blizzard having the opportunity to get rid of bolstering, raging, and sanguine and they instead got rid of entangling and volcanic. I don’t understand how many times we have to say we don’t like bolstering, raging, sanguine. We play the game, not them.
Because they hate you. That's why. They don't have any respect for anyone that plays this game. They view you as an inconvenience in the way of the money they're entitled to. Like most companies these days.
@@XAn0nymousX0overly dramatic, but not wrong haha
This video really brings attention to the fact that Hiru mains healer usually and not tank, what with Necrotic at 9 but overflowing at 1.
Love your videos but man, you are such a healer. :p
I thought Inspiring was rather good, you could always cc it via a polymorth and just pull the mobs back.
In a matter of fact, i actually loved when it was inspiring because it was rather easy to focus down.
I always cracked up at people who complained about thundering. But I have come to accept that wow players are blind
Tyrannical really just made the timer more difficult and not fun at all due to almost everyone want to complete it under the time limit
prideful???
Lmao as holy priest i didnt even feel this affix due to mastery XD
I haaaaaaated prideful. I was a prot paladin and prideful ruined mythic plus for me. It made me stop tanking because it wasn’t fun at all.
Prideful was awesome, it changed the "meta routes"
I still cant figure out how bolstering and sanguine exist in this game especially because ele shamans get F-ed over and over by having earthquake as only uncapped AoE and tanks are kiting all the time...
22:39 I thought you from the future gonna say they removing bolstering :((((
Despite it not being that long ago, I blocked thundering from my memory.
I preferred Tyrannical, i HATE using my CDs on trash, i like dunping everything ive got into sinle target damage
Quaking was the bane of my existence
teeming skittish was the worst thing ever, and necrotic by far too i remember trying to heal through 80 stacks of that
I can time high fort keys but high tyrannical keys have been my achillies heel.
Skittish wasn't that bad but however i got tank alts and its annoying that i keep on spamming taunts to get my threat back and other affixes are the worst are Afflicted and Incorporeal.
I have PTSD from this list....
No bursting on the list? I hated that affix
i'd replace prideful with sotrming tbh. storming gave me stage 4 cancer
Infested and Beguiling should have been top 4, absolute ptsd
every affix who only heals have to care
and wow how much i wasted myx time with m+
Man idc what anyone says. BOLSTERING is by FAR the WORST and the most unfit afixx of all time.
They know about this, but they just don't remove it because they want ppl "take a week off".
Grevious / Bursting was cancer, how didn't this make it to the list?
for me.. is understandable u choose healing afixes over any other.. but by far the worst combo was bolstering and reinforced... MIX WITH the one that made the packs bigger.. i dont remeber the name.. in legion those 3 were the main reason of fear.. u cant kill anything without buffing the living shit out of all the other mobs.. i remeber 2 places where this was awfull.. cathedral and tower of the guardens.. those 2 dungeons were IMPOSIBLE.. cuz just the start had like 7 mobs.. xD and the middle part had like 12 mobs.. dude that on 15 was imposible..
afixces
teeming/bolstering/empowered..
Key depletion needs to go.
Imagine not having sanguine here
