Buy the way. Love your sons big kid wheels. I am all most at that time to upgrade my sons bike to something like that. So he can understand the gears and push him in to riding. Father and son time.
They’re called Fat Wheels and they’re adaptive wheels for kids and adults. Kawai has autism so it’s great he can continue to ride forever no matter on 4 or 2 wheels! Love the father and son time we have! Kayden just started balancing on a balance bike so he will be joining dad and big bro soon!
I have this same light for my front and I love it. I usually run it on the underside of my Garmin mount with the computer up top. Unless I’m using a camera rig then it gets sandwiched between the mount and light. Great light, I wish rave-man would at some point would add a light with Garmin/wahoo integration (auto on/off).
I put front and rear lights on both my kids bikes. Huge safety factor increase plus I can justify upgrading my lighting setup by equipping them with my hand me downs
I had the original Fabric version of this front light - hopefully this knockoff is built better. Vibrations caused the internals to snap where the screws go through to hold it together. If I didn't have a tether on my Garmin, I would have lost it to the river as I was crossing a bridge when it broke. The light split in two - the bottom half was still in my outfront mount but the top half and my Garmin were swinging by the tether. I wound up buying the Garmin UT-800 - it fits in GoPro mount I have on all my computer mounts. It's already lasted twice as long as the Fabric light.
I have been rocking the FR160 for awhile now... I was not aware of the newer brighter model, FR300. Now I am on the fence about whether I should upgrade.... The Amazon site says it auto offs when still for 2 mins and turns back on again when it feels vibration. So at the coffee shop it will shut down, I like this. Dam you cost me money, I got to have it.
I have the older version and was looking at this one for the longer battery life and charging capability. On my bike I didn’t like how much it raised up my Wahoo and that the light pointed slightly up so I used a GoPro mount and put it under my computer mount. It may have been related to my integrated bar/stem and computer mount. I don’t ride in the dark so I don’t have an actual light or use a GoPro so it worked perfectly for me.
Funny you say this. Just got a new mount for my gravel bike to accommodate the Edge 1050. Was able to add a mounting puck to the underside so now I got the light under and the computer nice and flush with the handlebars! 👌🏽👌🏽
@@DontGetDroppedCycling that’s what I did at first but I didn’t like the angle so I found a GoPro mount that had a Garmin mount on it. I definitely prefer to have the computer lower and the light under the mount.
Tbh it’s more of a to be seen light vs a light up the road kinda light. The most I’d take this light on is early mornings if im around town with street lights. Otherwise I’d go with something with more lumens if you’re looking to light up the road/path.
Nice video, Erik! 🎉 This might be a little ridiculous but what is your view on the aerodynamics of the bike computer, as it is raised above the level of the stem? Or do you reckon at the speed I ride, I am better off being safe rather than worrying about how fast I am going? 😂
I’d recommend second hand. I bet you a bike is dying in somebody’s garage right now since you know what a few years ago. Be patient and cruise marketplace/local sales. I stole this gravel bike off a kid as he was basically giving it away 🤪 Otherwise whatever you can afford that makes you wanna ride is a perfect bike!! 👌🏽
@@kunsang7782 yeah I would def bring my road bike for a big ride to Niagara and back. At the same time I could put my road wheels on the gravel bike and that would work too 🙃
Heart warming to see you and your son enjoying a ride together!
I remember those days when my kids were younger...🙂
Ya loving it with the boys!!!!!
I like how you left your kid in the dust at the end. Don't get dropped!
Gotta teach them those hard life lessons early 🙃
Been on the fence about one of the front lights for a few months now actually. I'm now convinced. Nice video! I'm gonna grab one this weekend 👍🏾
Nice!!!! Let me know how they work out for ya 🤙🏽

Next step: take off the training wheels ;-)

@@DontGetDroppedCycling I did not know that. Thanks for the learning opportunity!
✌🏽
Love the helmet, I wear that too. I find it fits the best too. Def gonna get this light, love how the top mounts a wahoo.
Yeah I love it so much I have 2 after I smashed the first one 🙃

Just got a new mount today to accommodate the beast 1050. Now got the light on the underside and it’s much better for my OCD now 🙃
Mate been rocking this light for 8 months. its an awesome light and so convenient
Ya it’s got a permanent home on the gravel bike!!!

Ya I’m waiting for Kawai to be as tall as dad… NEW FRAMES 😂

Ha I have the UT800 on the road bike! Love that one for when it’s dark out 👌🏽
@@DontGetDroppedCycling I've been using mine in the daytime, too ... too many moron drivers not seeing me. It's made a big difference.

Ya I like the screen levelled with the handle bars #OCD
Nice review. Might pick some up. I have my lights built into my current helmet. A kickstarter one from a few years back.
I’ve seen that. Looks interesting!
I know this is considered a day light, but how does it function at night? Is it good enough to have as just a single light at dawn for example?

Old Erik would have said HELL NO but new Erik says it’s ok for the gravel bike. No go for the road bike for me though 🤪
Nice lights Erik but I am still more impressed with your Beard...haha
Thanks for the reminder that I need to shave 🪒
@@DontGetDroppedCycling NO!!!!!, haha

For some one that's lookin to do a bike trip from Toronto to falls, wouldn't road bike be the best and fastest as compared to gravel?
