Had the same issue with my 2014 vw jetta same exact car as in vid. Was able to fix it today, I replaced the pcv valve as well as the camshaft adjuster magnet. Pretty sure it was the magnet at fault because it was sticking pretty bad and it’s a common fault among these volkswagens and audis. Hope this helps someone.
I see this is from a year ago but I'm having the same issue. rough idle, unstable RPMs. Also if I pull the dip stick or open the oil fill cap the idle smooths out but its high. I can feel it sucking air when taking off the cap. I've replace the magnet, pcv, spark plugs, coil packs, oil change, air filter. Two things left to try are getting the intake valves cleaned and the throttle body.
What year and engine? It may be the timing chain stretched or timing guides are broken. Most of the time a pvc valve or a magnet will fix the problem. If it's the 1.8 that common.
I don’t know if this helps but I had the same issue also my car wouldn’t start when warmed up and would work perfectly when cooled . My shop just got back to me telling me FOR SURE that my fuel pump driver module is faulty and needs to be replaced ( it’s the connector on top of the fuel pump mines was a green box) . I just ordered the part and am going to pop it in myself I’ll check back and let uk how it goes
I have vw passat 2015 1.8 tsi, its doing little bit different, when im starting it when the car was standing like 6-10 or more hours and i start it and everything works okay when i just started it and after 20-30 seconds its starts shaking and rpm is going little up and down like in the video and when im stopped at red light on traffic light after standing like 20 secs on the brakes its starts shaking and trying to go forward even if i hold the brakes and when i drive it like for 20-30 mins that problem disappears and everything is working good
Have the same issue in my 2013 gli started when I put an after market intake after warning up needle go below 1 on rpm and also star and die when it runs after a while
You definitely have to take it in; my 2014 jetta tdi 419,000km would be the EGR and PDF are faulty would make tge needle move like that, dealership wanted $7000, but we just changed the ECU, see if this helps
@@SANMIAOChannel If you replaced the pcv valve, and no luck then its the camshaft adjuster magnet. Buy a good one, and your problems will go away. Then buy me a latte....
No not yet, I just keep driving it. When starting the engine it is rough idle and the engine dies but starts again and keep driving when hot it runs fine. It often happens every time starting the engine. I think when it is cold it happens.
I’m having this same problem as well and I replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, checked for vacuum leaks multiple times, new air filter, pcv valve replaced, purge valve replaced, high pressure fuel pump no check engine lights no codes I’m starting to lose hope did fix the issue
First time buying a used front-end accident VW. I didn't get it fixed yet. I just keep driving making sure to accelerate so the engine is hot then it is fine. I give up on VW. They are nice car and runs well but given so many issues I will stick to Toyotas and Hondas.
Same thing happening to me same car same year made the same fixes as you so far and like you I let it shut down and it starts again I’m just saving money for a new vehicle now.. a Toyota
No, I replaced the Engine Crankcase Vent Valve or Oil Separator sits on top the engine and kept driving it and it stops doings. Something it does but just ignored it and let car gets warm before drive and it seems fine now.
@@pitirijas103 did this help? Just experienced the problem and I had P0340 / P0341 error (camshaft position sensor) at the same time. The car is also consuming a bit of oil (250 ml every 10000 kms); I have to check the PCV valve.
Forgot to say but the camshaft position sensor was already changed in the past, but still, the P0340 / P0341 codes are thrown from time to time. But my car dealer changed it; not me... So not sure about the quality of the work there.
No, i just ignored it and keep driving then it is gone. people say there maybe build up in the intake but thats too difficult to remove the intake. I tried to remove the intake at junk yard and I damaged everything cant even remove the intake.
I high rev mine and gone but it's seems to come on when wants to no code ima mk3 vw guy only thing I can think of is the maf sensor needs cleaned and new plugs with coils
I have the same issue. Check engine light came on and both VW and my mechanic said it was engine timing chain. I got the camshaft sensor first and replaced it and same thing. Then spent 2200 to have the timing chain replaced. Same thing. Car burns a lot of oil. I keep a 5 gal in my trunk and just fill it. Today same issue car rpm at 1k jumps , mechanic wants to clean sensor connects and throttle body. I hope that fixes it. If that doesn't work , I will replace pcv valve and camshaft adjustment magnet as mentioned in one of the comments above. I'd rather fix this and keep the car for as long as I can. The grass isn't always greener on the other side, it's greener where you water it. (If I can keep paying for the repairs that is.)
New air filter, new spark plugs with housing, new camshaft sensor, new engine timing chain, regular oil changes and constantly adding oil because it burns a lot, mechanic said it is from piston rings being bad not worth it to change it.
Bro everyone has a problem I’m with it but NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT IS?!?! Lol I changed my PCV felt good for a day then went back to doing the same shit im so lost at this point

Do you mind if I ask if the magnet replacement was expensive?
Ok, I will try to replace that Magnet will update result soon.
clean LL sensor on the frontier on the air intake you have to censor their map sensor and the air sensor
Having the exact same issue on the exact same car, my timing chgain is loose apparently
Change the sensor on the left side of the timing chain plastic cover there’s a wire going to it replace it and will be ok
Part name???

Because i have da seem problem
Sent mine to a VW dealer they said it was the camshaftf magnet. They fixed the problem it went away.
Mine was also the camshaft magnet .n they also said the intake valve was clogged
in this case it will costless to replace it, thanks

Never spray engine bay with water. Take WD40 spray your alternator good. Then spray the top of engine wait ten minutes and start car
Do you check if one of the coils is bad? That can be your problem.
Replaced all new
