Another killer resto-rod from Steve. I love how he did this one. Not much is specialist made. Most is stuff people can buy. I love he swapped the bumpers out. They completely transformed the look. And that colour? Incredible!
Steve Strope and his team build some very nice cars. His attention to detail and pure simplicity of his builds is incredible. I think a lot of builders take away too much of the original cars character, Steve keeps that and just enhances the package. Awesome video and that is one lucky caddy👍🏼
What a brilliant build, Steve Strope you are a genius, your NY was showing with the turn signal tirade.....freaking loved it. The subtle touches; the materials, the side vents, 70’s bumpers the Aston Martin blue accents the body lines, wheel choice ...I could go on and on!!! Thanks Shawn another great video!
The plaid in the interior is dope. the way the side trim goes across the fender vent is awesome! The bumper swap is sweet! The schwab letters/ side blinker swap/ drive train/ triangulated rear dang!!!and the 727 bolts up to this motor.....this car looks so stock but is insanely smoothed over and polished up! Damn Steve!! Steve Strope is hilariously awesome!!.....and use your damn blinker people!!
I've always loved the first generation Challengers. What makes this car specifically beautiful is how low it sits on the wheels. In my opinion this car looks beautiful slow as she goes so those who know can watch her roll!
Love the comment on the turn signals! Hahhaha! I’ve heard of Steve Strope but never saw a video of him. He looks like a really cool, funny guy, no attitude or anything. Makes this build look so easy! He looks like a really nice guy! Btw-body side molding was a factory option and most people removed it as it interfered with stripes. I have it on my ‘72 Challenger Rallye and possibly because of the body side molding my car had the fender louvers deleted.
I like it. Alot. '73s don't get as much of the Mopar love as some of the other years, but if this one gets enough looks, perhaps that could change. Nice tie in with the golfing & Schwab motif with the interior upholstery trim, too.
Sweet, I really like how they used the round 68 charger marker lights and are my favorite too. My first car was a 68, and is a really cool touch. I like how they did the inserts on the seats, and is a super cool build. I'm thinking about doing coilovers on my Challenger SRT8 as well, instead of lowering springs like I was originally going to do and will be much happier with adjustable shocks instead. I see a lot of guys are doing lowering springs these days on these late model Challengers, but coilovers are so much better and are the way to go if possible
I have a 73 barracuda and always hated the look of the side markers and planned to use 68 chargers design. Beautiful compared to those bicycle reflector looking side marker of 73.
FYI, Body side trim or molding was an option on 1970-1974 Dodge Challengers. One of the most famous Dodge Challengers, Brock Yates' Cannonball Run car, had body side trim. Also, I own one that does..
This car looks amazing. I love the stuff he does to cars. As he explains this is a doable car. These cars are easier to find. They are not the most sought after year but I could see really fixing one of those up. I wish he could have helped me with my 63 Lincoln. Thanks for having Steve on. Amazing. Shout out from Thailand. If Steve ever needs a project. He can work on my 63' Lincoln and help make it badass.
Awesome is an understatement for this car. The 70 and 71 Challengers where the most common and desirable. It's just a trim difference between all the years
Don't need any words to explain this one it's really a museum on wheels. 💙💙 And I agree with Steve too many people have lost the IQ to instinctively use turn signals these days. 😂
Very cool . I think i could do without the insert flannel in the seats ...lol. As you can tell i am a die hard challenger fan . The crazy thing is the new cars have so much engineering in them they are crazy fast . I am currently trying to hit a Naturally aspirated record at sub low elevens with my 2017 Scat pack .
Perfect Car in regards to intention and execution . I would be in heaven to own it . Great commuter car if you have private parking . AWESOME CAR to show up on a first date in , kind of PERFECT in that category .
I love the car and the 6.4l, only thing is I wish there was a stand alone controller for the torquflite 8 speed and put that in this car. Many other people would love to do the same. 8 speed, and people will ask how you did it like me. Nice build!
Personal luxury automobile beautiful car I've always hated that car I've turn down one $2,500 in relatively good shape seeing what he's done with one makes me really regret my decision I would have never thought one could be done so simply yet so beautiful excellent work
...also I wanted to ask a tech question ...there are two plugs on the passenger firewall, and on the inner fender skirt by the passenger headlight, I was trying to figure out what they were used for, possibly the electronic control module for the motor? I noticed the battery is in the stock location on the drivers front fender, any info on their purpose? thank you
Not a criticism, but low profile tires just look out of place on 60s-70s cars. Steve Strope has incredible taste otherwise. Better looking than any muscle car I've seen on Leno. Thank you AutotopiaLA!
Hey Shawn, nice clean car! Before Steve mentioned it I was expecting him to say that he cut those tartan strips from one of your old kilts. Sorry man for being a wise ass! Hee! Hee! Later!
I think i actually ddint know a 73 challenger. Its so different from the challenger we all know. I love it very nice personally don't like chrome but was gonna keep everything else the same. And those rear lights are so unique
Sheesh man, sure is clean and well executed. I agree with it being a stunning and beautifully built car, but my eye can't see the beauty in the original design. I'm not really a MOPAR fan to begin with, much less anything built in the '70's. Reminds me of when my wife describes Boxers, Pugs, Frenchies and Bulldogs as cute. I don't get it, I think they're all ugly smash-faced creatures, but she loves them.
I'm honestly not sure if I'm a fan of the 73 challenger as much as I am of the the 70 or 71 challenger. I feel as if there were slight changes to the car that really made big difference when trying to compare them to the older models.
Beautiful challenger, but wrong about the body side molding! 1970-74 you could order body side molding. In 1970 is was like a $12 dollar option. You can Google it and see factory photos of 70-74 challenger with body side molding. Wish I could download the photos on here. Rare seeing one with it, most didn’t order it. But was available.

I'm a MOPAR guy and this has to be one of my favorite builds. It is BEAUTIFUL, ELEGANT a DRIVER & ACCESSIBLE. THANK YOU MR.STROPE.
Agreed all the way here 👊

Agreed all the way. He never goes too far in the changes made to his builds
I’m with you. Steve is awesome and this is another example of a killer build and his sense of humor is the best!
Steve is so cool! He's a call it as he sees it kind of guy, totally respect that!!
He’s the best. Straight talking creative funny genuine man
I'm with Steve use your damn turn signals!
Yes!!

Loving this comment!!
This was great! Steve is always fun to see on screen. He does such great work! I just showed this to my sister, who works for Schwab.
He’s amazing as a builder, friend and makes me laugh non stop!
Hehe Steve was on fire that day. Nice to see he's doing good! One of my favorite builder for sure.
He was super fired up and ready to be his hilarious self!
Mopar is an instant winner in my book. Gorgeous car and Steve absolutely made it top tier with the simple yet awesome with trinkets
Agreed all the way here 👊
Damn nice ride. Guy knew when to stop modifying......like Clint said, "A man's gotta know his limits."
He always seems to know which is why I love his builds so much
Steve was the reason why i went with my tire size on my 73 Challenger. The 72 Challenger X he did many years ago is still amazing 🙌🏼
typically don't like the 73 but this one has changed my mind. beautiful
I've always loved the first generation Challengers. What makes this car specifically beautiful is how low it sits on the wheels. In my opinion this car looks beautiful slow as she goes so those who know can watch her roll!
Did the same to me Chris. Stunning build
Steve's a riot. Shoots from the hip with both barrels and no apologies. Love it. Great shoot.
This is one of the best old school looking challenger ever made doesn’t get any better than this
Truly exceptional
I dig this! Steve is the man.
Yes he is 👊
Love the comment on the turn signals! Hahhaha!

Steve is awesome. Cool funny and talented. Look into more of his builds as they are all incredible
I like it. Alot. '73s don't get as much of the Mopar love as some of the other years, but if this one gets enough looks, perhaps that could change. Nice tie in with the golfing & Schwab motif with the interior upholstery trim, too.

Great comment here. Enjoy the coilovers on your car soon I hope

Can we have more of Steve he is damn funny guy, and what a car they have built in the time frame.
He’s hilarious and such a talented creative builder
FYI, Body side trim or molding was an option on 1970-1974 Dodge Challengers. One of the most famous Dodge Challengers, Brock Yates' Cannonball Run car, had body side trim. Also, I own one that does..
It's an awesome 73 superbly done without question.
Truly a beautiful build
@@AutotopiaLA I have a 73 Nova but I can't be that lucky
That car looks nice....very simple but not boring. I love those dodge challengers.
This is a beautiful build which is typical from Strope & Co
Very kool man, Steve killed it once again, God he does the most perfect concept resto-rods!
I agree all the way bro 👊
This car looks amazing. I love the stuff he does to cars. As he explains this is a doable car. These cars are easier to find. Beautiful color, wheels and interior! good job with this car from Steve!👏
Yeah, they nailed it on this Challenger
He makes some of the best restomods I have ever seen.
Agreed all the way 👊
How did I miss this one? Less is always more. Beautiful.
That's the first time I've seen that kicker unit. I like it
I’ve seen it in a few cars now and it’s very cool
Awesome job Steve, You are world class builder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome is an understatement for this car. The 70 and 71 Challengers where the most common and desirable. It's just a trim difference between all the years

Love the car and thank you to Steve for pointing out turn signals are there for a reason.👍🏼
He’s awesome and yes, beautiful build here
Classy cool beautiful ride buddy thanks for sharing that man can make anything look good
He has such great style in his builds
I ain't mad. Strope is a realist with these cars..
He is. Artistic restraint is his strong point of design
very nice. i like the zagato nod. clean simple, beautiful
Class build from Strope & Co
Amazing guy and loved seeing this and him at SEMA
He’s the best. Unfiltered and hilarious and very talented
Now thats a beautiful 73 Challenger and that 392 Hemi V8 is a beast.
Strope nails it on every build. This one is simply stunning
Glacial blue with the vanilla shake white is REALLY NICE!!
Very cool . I think i could do without the insert flannel in the seats ...lol. As you can tell i am a die hard challenger fan . Thank You so much Shawn ! Pure Gold. I can’t say enough about your passion and the content. WOW !?! Hooked For Good

Love this! Don't know what else to say. I would daily it to 70/80%, freshen it up and keep driving
Perfect Car in regards to intention and execution . I would be in heaven to own it . Great commuter car if you have private parking . AWESOME CAR to show up on a first date in , kind of PERFECT in that category .
I might have Steve do my 73 challenger that way as well. Black interior of course and a burnt orange metallic color .
Do it. He’ll get it right guaranteed
Beautiful car with perfect mods.
Agree all the way 👊
wow very nice simple classic with a modern twist work
Where have I seen this dude before? Those tv build shows? Jay Leno’s garage? I can’t recall but def have seen him somewhere before.
He's been on here before and Jay Lenos garage. Builds lots of very nice cars.
He’s one of the top dogs in the custom world. Hot Rod...Leno...here...motor trend...very well known in this world
Such an awesome car
Truly stunning
AutotopiaLA it has such an awesome sound. The exhaust note on this car is awesome.
Thats a nice build for sure!
Steve always user the best colors for his builds!
AWESOME BUILD....MOPAR 4 EVER....!
I love the car and the 6.4l, only thing is I wish there was a stand alone controller for the torquflite 8 speed and put that in this car. Many other people would love to do the same. 8 speed, and people will ask how you did it like me. Nice build!
They had a budget and needed to keep it fairly simple. It’s really beautiful
I love Steve's cars!
I loved this interview, hilarious 🤣
Personal luxury automobile beautiful car I've always hated that car I've turn down one $2,500 in relatively good shape seeing what he's done with one makes me really regret my decision I would have never thought one could be done so simply yet so beautiful excellent work
Never thought they were attractive cars but this one is stunning
Beautiful Dodge Challenger.
Being a Scot, I'm McLOVIN' the Rod Stewart interior! "Do ya think I'm SEXY?" YEAH, BABY!! ;@D
Woof Woof!
Hilarious!! It is beautiful

Beautiful!!!
Yeah, this is simply a beautiful build that drives perfectly
God I wish I could get my hands on something like this
Holy crap I need those guys to do my 73 Charger!
They’ll nail it without question!
Love that steve says USE TURN SIGNALS YOU MORONS and shawn merges without signaling haha
I was going to post the same exact thing.
I use em when needed. If I’m clear I move
Not a criticism, but low profile tires just look out of place on 60s-70s cars.

I love the styling in this one
Hey Shawn, nice clean car! Before Steve mentioned it I was expecting him to say that he cut those tartan strips from one of your
old kilts. Sorry man for being a wise ass! Hee! Hee! Later!
Thank god he left my kilts alone 😂😂
There goes the prices of a 72 73 and 74 Challenger now
Beautiful car!
Why do you guys look so cold? Was it 60 degrees there? 😀
And light rain which creates “storm watch 2019” 😂😂
How do you not have more subs
I know right! This channel has shown some of nicest cars anywhere! Awesome content, he will blow up eventually.
Still new I guess? Thanks for the support 👊
Working on it everyday!!

Silky smooth. Went from ugly duckling to hot girl next door. Cleaned up real nice.
Very nice.
Truly beautiful build here

nice work
Beautiful build
Beautiful car. I have a 72 can you tell me the wheel sizing please i beg you?
Check with Steve as I don’t know the sizes
I had to like it when he talked about turn signals

I never was but this one changed my mind
I Iike the look and way it’s design it doesn’t pop out as a drag car
I’m with you here
my dream car is this
Very good dream. This thing is a real beauty and wonderful drive
I would want modern restraint systems put in, but other than that this car is awesome!
I think the farthest I would go would be a shoulder harness for the front seat occupants.
@@michiganengineer8621
Yes, wearing just a lap belt is more dangerous than not wearing any seatbelt at all
Shoulder harness would be nice for sure
That’s one nice dodge 👍
Sure is a sweet build

Yup I forgot to say my daughter works foe Schwabs!! Small world.
No “Hold on coz here we go man” ?
Sorry...was too excited to get in and see Steve and shoot this beauty
I use my turn single all the time
I do unless I’m obviously clear
That steve is one goofy guy.
Funny in a funny way.
👍😍🇧🇷 muito bonito
Agreed 👊
That color is gorgeous. 10K in wheels? Heck no
73 chally and 73 camaro best looking cars for 73
Yes and yes!
I luuuuuv the 72 73 challenger, I actually like it better than the 70. Painted around the headlights and those taillights- sooo mopar.
Wow....... never seen before like this.. LoL
👌👍
This one is pure beauty
Steve needs to lay off the aderall. Forgive Steve for the tweaking!!! 👊💥
Ha! He’s always pretty wired but that’s Steve
Love the car, but it would be better with three pedals though.
Agreed but since the owner was unknown he had to go with auto
