    Just saw the thumbnail and already think it's the best, most tasteful car they've built by far. The best custom cars look factory to the untrained eye. That's why Singer Porsches are so amazing. Hope this becomes more popular.

      I love the Singer reference. You could easily miss so many important elements. Love this build but it’s typical with Pure Vision Cars.

    The work done to that gauge cluster alone Damn!!🤔 the look on your face when he said you could drive it hell yeah!!😂 I can't believe all the thought that went into the transmission in the gears in relationship to the RPM and speed of the car... strobe thinks of everything it's like he sweats creativeness saves it in a bottle and does some mad scientist potion and throws it into a car!

    • @AutotopiaLA
      @AutotopiaLA  5 років тому +5

      Danny Smith he’s certainly a creative guy and so much of what he does goes unnoticed because it’s all the little things like the gauges. Amazing car and Steve is just as cool as it gets.

    • @BackyardClunkers77
      @BackyardClunkers77 3 роки тому

      The gauge’s position in this Charger reminds me of the same positioning Chrysler Corporation used for their 1966 Plymouth barracudas... but- instead of a giant vacuum gauge like Plymouth used, Dodge’s tachometer/ analog clock two in one gauge type.. The ‘68 charger is very nicely done, even though I’m not a big fan of its choice of color combo. I think the blueish purple exterior with a black & white interior would’ve looked sweet. Or have that red interior with a silver & black exterior (silver or black exterior with red bumble bee stripes). Regardless, still a sweet ride, & my favorite year for the Charger... ‘68 🤟🏼😆🤟🏼

    Steve Strope just gets it! He is one of my favourite car builders. He took, what is my opinion, the baddest looking muscle car ever built and made it an ultimate daily driver, without going over the top and transitioning it to a trailer/show queen. The ext./int. colours, the stance, the wheels, the staggered tire sizes, and the integration of a '66 Charger interior are nothing less than stunning. This thing looks like it would be kicking butt and taking names all night long on Woodward or the blvds. of L.A.
    Keep building 'em Steve. Can't wait to see your next one.

    Amazing top shelf work guys. 68-70 Chargers are designed beautifully right from the factory. The only thing I don't like about them is from some angles they just look too long. Wheel base relative to overall length is funny to look at sometimes. On this one I love the overall 70's street machine theme without big wheels.

    Steve Strope is an absolute creative genius, the amount of thought and research in to each and every freaking car he builds is on another level the man hours just in the redesign of the dash, it is incredible. Not only does he envision how it should look and perform he sets the standard on build quality level and how it needs to function, his designs are how it should have been done from the factory!

    Damn that's sweet and is amazing how much detail went into the dash alone. I knew what he meant by the offset gauge configuration because I've owned two 68s over the years and was my first car, so they are pretty special to me and am glad that you reviewed it for us Sean. I was thinking that you were referring to me at the end about showing us more Mopars because I've pestered you about it in the past hahaha. So if that was geared towards me, I thank you a bunch brotha and do appreciate you answering our requests 👍. I thought it was a really cool touch how they added the 66 interior and was the best part about those cars because they sure weren't very good looking until the 68 was produced

    What a superb example of one-off engineering one of the most iconic designs ever to come out of Detroit! I love what you did to combine elements of the '66 SS hood and the full console, custom dash and folding seats! The cars suspension is perfect for that wheelbase and power, like the OD idea so the ride is smooth and not an ear killer. It must have been a pleasure to drive even if it DIDN'T have a bad-ass Hemi in it. Always have loved the '68-'70 Chargers! Sexy beast! You have to love modern technology. I personally love putting modern touches in an old car and making it look factory. Jesus the man hrs that are in that build would make that a definite 6 figure job. 😍🤤

    I still own my dad's all originalday one 1969 Plymouth GTX 440.
    The only hard parts could have ever been changed on it is the fuel pump and the brakes of course. He bought it brand new, he owned it until he got killed by Joe Camel and the Marlboro Man in 1985.

    Steve took one of the best muscle cars ever made and made it better! Not really a fan of the rear buckets and full length console but I LOVE the gauges, hood, color, suspension, wheels, tires and stance. The hood clearance on a '68 Charger with a Hemi or 440 is super tight and this hood is a great idea! And you gotta love a Hemi! I have a Passon 4 speed OD in my '70 Cuda with 3.55 gears and it makes a world of difference going 75 on the highway. Did Steve say what gears the '68 Charger has?

    • @AutotopiaLA
      @AutotopiaLA  5 років тому

      I think he said 355 gears. I love his approach and their execution. That gauge cluster alone is incredible to me.

    I have this exact trans. It works and it doesnt. If your just wanting to cruise its just fine. BUT if you want max acceleration do not use it. The rpm drop between gears is horrible. Better answer is the 855 by passon or a gear vender after the trans.
