Hiya made him movie accurate, including the color. This isn't the older versions of Ghidorah that were shiny gold. Watch the movie and look at the CGI stills, he is more a dirty brown or yellowish brown. There is one scene in the movie where they purposely made him glow shiny gold, it is when he is charging up. I am sure Hiya will make a variant version of him from that scene to make use of the mold and appease those that want a shiny gold version.
A bit ago I managed to get my hands on the SHMA King Ghidorah 2019 Special Color for some $150-$160. Something I just figured rn you can try and stick the Tamashii nation blue lighting effect on thermonuclear godzillas dorsals to try and get that effect at the end of kotm where he charges up that surge of energy
I sold my original shma 2019 king ghidorah for quick cash because honestly it pissed me off. Even with the stands, he would fall over. I had to use other monsters and buildings against his wings to support him. Not to mention the heads abd tails would fall off easily. When the special color version came out my only issue was one leg was lose but he could stand a lot easier and not burst into pieces like iron man's armor from iron man 3. I'm really anticipating my hiya ghidorah.
Kinda unrelated but I wish we had third party goji figures, like with masterpiece and fanstoys, a company that would be willing to make kaiju like desghidorah that shma would never care to do, while still making it same price if not cheaper for same if not better quality, it’s sad seeing shma devolve into chaos and their response to hiya was “oh well” essentially, it sucks, that being said I have 3 orders from them, one is minus goji which despite ur review I’m still personally excited because of the stop motion potential, but the other 2 are the preorder for space goji and Mechagoji ‘93, who knows, maybe they’ll be good, only time will tell (honestly though can we get a desghidorah shma some time down the road, he’s so underrated, again off topic but I just really want one, not before Keizer ghidorah but still)
Same. SHFA has loads of 3rd party figs for lines like their DB figures. Then again, most likely has to do with how Godzilla figure sculpting seems more complicated as most of those SHFA 3rd party borrows figure molds and add modifications.
Seeing SHMA falling off this hard just makes me sad as they used to make damn near movie accurate figures such as the G95 birth version, all 3 Kiryu figures, and SCV Dest. Hiya once they get their figures on other sites like Amazon will become a much cheaper alternative, especially once they start doing Showa era figs (watch the first showa Kaiju fig they make is Angurius 💀)
This is the most honest and truthful review I have ever seen! I am also done with SHMA! I only have the 2019 Godzilla standard figure without the blue colours on the dorsal plates, but I gonna go next for the Evolved Godzilla from Hiya Toys.
I watched Super MarioZillas Monsterarts videos and he has a point which still stands to this day. Monsterarts seems to neglect the Godzilla Franchise over their other toylines like Figuarts. It’s a shame that a company would be bias over their own toylines meaning that also screws over the consumers.
Love the video. Just got my first Hiya 2019 figure and it's so much better than the monster arts version. I have to say that poster color version you have there does look good. How do you like it?
I seriously wonder if I sit down and put a custom paint job on the SH monster arts figure how much better will it look. I think I’ll take a crack shot at it.
If I had a shma version I'd at least try to customize it to make it look presentable but I'd never spend a dime to get one. Lol great send off at the end
I live in china and in some websites i use, hiya toys king ghidorah costs about 100$-80$ and shma's ghidorah is about 200-300, the special colour version also is abt 200-300
So I have a choice between the upcoming Hiya Ghidorah (with effect parts) and the Special Color Monsterarts Ghidorah. I'm really not sure which one I should go for. Tbh I only have the SCV as an option because I found it for cheap
I have never collected godzilla figures before because all of them seem to have something 'off' with them. Then I discovered Hiya toys about 2 weeks ago. My 1st ever godzilla figure is currently on its way. The Hiya toys 2019 godzilla just restocked for the new year.
I remember seeing the first review of that first heisei godzilla shma. I was absolutely blown away by the detail and articulation, the hinged jaw, the fully articulated tail, it all felt like witchcraft at the time, and from that day getting those mythical shmas became an obsession of mine. It's been sad seeing what's become of the line, how far it's fallen. Shma, more like shame. Hell Bandai in general has been dropping the ball ain't it? On the robot side of things, Soul of Chogokins and metal builds are just not comparable to likes of CCS, sentinel, blitzway and so many others, and even the model kits, high grades are very cool but compared to moderoids? Specially when you've seen the same gundam released for the 38918th time while moderoid is putting out the most obscure stuff you've ever seen. Well. That's just how I see it at least. Happy new year everyone
@@bretbuckley70410x better? C'mon now. The SCV is excellent. Much better neck articulation than hiya and a flashy (and imo better, but that's completely personal option) paint job. I've also seen some absolutely janky hiya Ghidorah heads, I know the shma proportions are way off but I think the actual sculpt is a lot better. If you want movie accurate then hiya all the way, but imo if you want something to catch eyes on the shelf the SCV is still better
@@centaurmin buddy the special color version isn't that much different from the original version except for paint and joints, outside of that, nothing else is different. Heads too big, wings aren't articulated, no accessories and the price is ridiculous for something that isn't that much of a major upgraded. Both figures capture eyes but hiya does more in comparison and is cheaper on top of that. That there is undeniable. Giving a bit too much credit to a overpriced repaint that missed out the opportunity to do what hiya did with ghidorah
@@Kaiju-bm4ts Personally like the bigger heads. The neck is far superior. Colors are goated. Yea pretty good figure on its own. Hiya just better in some other areas
Have you seen the repaint of the showa ghidorah bootleg? They seemed to have repainted it into the hesei figure and given it new wings and heads. Weird thing
I feel like Monsterarts has the biggest issue with Godzilla related Kaiju figures SPECIFICALLY for a while now. Just compare how Rathalos was made, and he was released not so long after or before ghidorah. He had articulated wings, replacement wings for closed position, even a small fire effect, movable tongue, special stand... Nargacuga released few months prior and was even more impressive, they even added a cut off tail, small hunter etc... (and proceeded to not give us cut tails for rest of the monsters sadly). But all Monster Hunter figures, especially Rathalos and Mizutusne knocked it out in terms of amount of materials, sculpt, and detail. The new lines seem to get much more love lately, and as an MH fan I am glad, but at the same time, WHY, why are other lines so finished compared to something like Goji that should sell like good bread. Look what they did to Monsterarts GvK Godzilla. It released much later and was propably the most hideous repaint ive ever seen them make. Blue shiny toothpaste on mouth and back that didn't even have a right shade of blue and almost no paint on the rest of the body. It does not look like an official Monsterarts product. It looks like a bad first try at 3D printing and painting. And now look at the Yu-Gi-Oh or even Gamera figures. Iris while not in my style, is insanely painted and sculpted. Monsterarts has been loosing my trust lately even more, new MH Tigrex looks like a huge drop in quality, but costs as much, if not more than Rathalos that is twice his size. At least, after years of nothing, they finally started to do more regular re-releases because the prices of some figures are getting ridiculous on second hand market and they gain nothing from that, I was always angry at that aspect of their distribution. But seeing how quality drops year after year and figures like much awaited Minus One are huge dissapointment in quality... Hiya seems to be the new hope for big monster collectors. Look they already did skullcrawler and Muto and Monsterarts seems to just ignore that people wanted figuress of these propably since day 1. I really hope they will do older Godzillas too, especially those that are annoying to get in Monsterarts line and do them much needed justice. Hiya please, do Singular Point, Shin, Earth and Minus One, you are my only hope of getting these in fair price.
S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah 2019 price is too expensive while the Hiya Toys’ price is perfect, HT seems to be more fair with their prices on their Godzilla figures.
Here’s a list that I think would help Bandai and SH monster Arts. It’s not ranked just naming off the top of my head. 1. Better, cleaner, more detailed, and more accurate paint. 2. Better quality control with less breakages or joints popping off too easily when posing. 3. More and better accessories. 4. Cheaper pricing. 5. Sculpted more accurately to the source material. 6. Scaling I mean their SH figures are practically puny most of the time. 7. Listen to your customers!
One way you could look at the Godzilla figure size difference is SHMA could be before the nuke, HIYA being after. Because apparently that's the canonical moment he grew the extra 50 ft.
Steven, I think that many people would agree that it would be grat if you’d make a super 7 destroyah vs shma destroyah, and a super 7 super mecha Godzilla vs shma super mecha Godzilla

@@GojiBoiEarth1964 probably
I mean- there WAS a third party ready player one mecha Godzilla.
21:17 I don’t see the figure inside the box, are you still keeping it or maybe I’m blind and I guess the figure itself also got axed?
It's in there. Obviously there's reflection, but you can see the foot.
I get “Smash Bros Announcer: No Contest” vibes with this video but the real winner is obviously Hiya Toys.
Love the video. Just got my first Hiya 2019 figure and it's so much better than the monster arts version. I have to say that poster color version you have there does look good. How do you like it?
It’s the fight of the century
I seriously wonder if I sit down and put a custom paint job on the SH monster arts figure how much better will it look. I think I’ll take a crack shot at it.
If I had a shma version I'd at least try to customize it to make it look presentable but I'd never spend a dime to get one. Lol great send off at the end
Unfortunately a polished turd is still a turd, even custom heads would only go so far
Did not think you'd put him down lol
I cant imagine how long you've been wanting to do that, but what does the after result look like?
I live in china and in some websites i use, hiya toys king ghidorah costs about 100$-80$ and shma's ghidorah is about 200-300, the special colour version also is abt 200-300
Here in India smh gidorah is 400$
Cmon steven shma was so expensive you didnt have to obliterate it😂
Hydrogen Bomb VS Coughing Baby
Steve be finishing off that Monster Arts Ghidorah like good old Goji showed him, somewhere out there, he is smiling.
21:07 more like Old Yeller lol. Happy new year!
So I have a choice between the upcoming Hiya Ghidorah (with effect parts) and the Special Color Monsterarts Ghidorah. I'm really not sure which one I should go for. Tbh I only have the SCV as an option because I found it for cheap
4:48 hey it’s just like the movie😂😂😂
Happy new year
I have the sh monster arts one and it sucks so much😭 one of the neck ball joints is literally cracked. I’m definitely getting the hiya one
Hopefully the beanie wasn't damaged during the ending. It was wonderful!
Is the Shma SCV 2019 Ghidorah better or atleast on par with the hiya?
Think about the head sculpt…
Not really...the SCV only improved the paint job and the quality of the joints. There's nothing that figure improved that Hiya didn't do 10x better.
I love all your videos I'm getting skullcraller😊
The second hiya put up us pre orders i sold my shm for a bit over retail through a fb marketplace meet up since driving isnt much of an issue
Have you seen the repaint of the showa ghidorah bootleg? They seemed to have repainted it into the hesei figure and given it new wings and heads. Weird thing
It might just be a straight ko of hesei, since I can't really tell, but regardless, weird it's out there now
I feel like Monsterarts has the biggest issue with Godzilla related Kaiju figures SPECIFICALLY for a while now.
When I saw the video title I already knew who was gonna win. Way easier prediction than CNN predicting tomorrow’s weather
S.H. MonsterArts King Ghidorah 2019 price is too expensive while the Hiya Toys’ price is perfect, HT seems to be more fair with their prices on their Godzilla figures.
What do you think of scv ghidora vs hiya ghidorah? I love scv ghidora even tho its not 100% accurate to the film
Yep, I think it's really cool and goes well with the poster color SHMA. Definitely a different animal.
The Godzilla fandom will never die🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Here’s a list that I think would help Bandai and SH monster Arts. It’s not ranked just naming off the top of my head.
1. Better, cleaner, more detailed, and more accurate paint.
2. Better quality control with less breakages or joints popping off too easily when posing.
3. More and better accessories.
4. Cheaper pricing.
5. Sculpted more accurately to the source material.
6. Scaling I mean their SH figures are practically puny most of the time.
7. Listen to your customers!
I hope Hiya will make a Mechagodzilla figure this year because NECA missed out and I'm not sure if the S.H. MonsterArts figure is worth the price.
Unfortunately because of personal reasons i had to sell my sh monster arts 2019 king Kidora and i really miss it😕
Now buy the hiya ghidorah
R.I.P SHMA monster zero, People that are NOT going to monster zeros funeral⬇
Once I get this I’m boxing up my shma ghidorah and putting him away but I’m definitely keeping the support stands he came with for sure
Shma monster zeros head falling off is cannon lol what a great play feature
I’ve been waiting for this vid Hiya definitely takes the cake
I forgot about the alien and predator line what happen they only made the wolf predator
Happith new year
I've pretty much stopped collecting shma outside of specific kaiju and the yugioh line
I wanna see the aftermath
One way you could look at the Godzilla figure size difference is SHMA could be before the nuke, HIYA being after. Because apparently that's the canonical moment he grew the extra 50 ft.
4:45 Not Kevin going through that again 😢
What a way to end the year with taking out Sh Monsterarts
Steven, I think that many people would agree that it would be grat if you’d make a super 7 destroyah vs shma destroyah, and a super 7 super mecha Godzilla vs shma super mecha Godzilla
I still like both and I never understood the appeal of destroying expensive products. Congrats, we get it, but there could have been other options rather than destroying it.
Me when SHMA Ghidorah Got lit on fire:
"BURN BABY BURN!"
Bro was so done with SHMA bs that his persona for this Figure fight turned into a normal Figure review rant. Bro is even expressing his disappointment on the bloody score card lmao
I can’t kill my sh monsterarts for the money it cost… but thanks for you doing it, the satisfaction…
I purchased the hiya ghidorah and I am wishing for it in the mail, and I’m very happy I bought it
21:36 holy shit, I never knew you were a Viking
You should put a motor on it so it can fly…. Make it fly and I will buy it.
This is a cool discussion Steve, I wonder if you'll do a deep dive like this on Super7?
He already made like 2 videos on super 7 criticizing them
@@dennisjaime1801 oh, well will watch those then thanks
You should let us yes what is left of the SHMA ghidorah
What a great way to start the year, destroying an shma figure, kinda sick of the prices on some figures not gonna lie
I knew. Even before I clicked.
