Your facts are wrong. She didn't bully him. Instead, some of her twitter followers took it upon themselves to bully Mr. Hickham (AFTER NASA saw the tweets and pulled the internship). Mr. Hickham has even confirmed it himself on his blog that she didn't go after him, and in fact unsuccessfully tried to dissuade the Twitter bullies. She also apologized to him, but Homer said an apology was "unnecessary". Homer tried to help her get it back, specifically because she was a good kid. You've pretty much inverted the entire story by falsely claiming that she went after him, when in fact she tried to prevent that.

Imagine being smart enough to earn an internship into NASA.. But at the same time be dumb enough not to apologize to someone who partly oversees NASA..
She didn't get her friends to harass him, her friends and followers on Twitter saw and thought that they could do the same cry bully tactics that other businesses fold to. That just really drew NASA's attention to the very stuff Homer was trying to warn her of and prevent. Naomi did ask for people to stop but it was too late. And because she lost it people blamed him and tried to harass him more while others heard of the story and harassed her because they knew who Homer was, wanted to call her dumb, and/or wanted to bully a furry. Homer tried to help but NASA said no. Eventually she got another opportunity with NASA and tweeted about it but said she learned from the last time. Edit: I do believe she got another chance but I cannot find the tweet that said that she did. So file the ending as unsure until I can find it again.

For those who don't know Homer Hickam is the man who wrote his life story down in the book October Sky which was later made into a movie. It and the book tell the story of how he and some friends built model rockets back in the 50s during the space race and how he and the others went onto have very sucessful lives with homer even working at nasa later on. Not bad for a group of boys from coalwood west virginia.

Your facts are wrong. She didn't bully him. Instead, some of her twitter followers took it upon themselves to bully Mr. Hickham (AFTER NASA saw the tweets and pulled the internship). Mr. Hickham has even confirmed it himself on his blog that she didn't go after him, and in fact unsuccessfully tried to dissuade the Twitter bullies. She also apologized to him, but Homer said an apology was "unnecessary". Homer tried to help her get it back, specifically because she was a good kid. You've pretty much inverted the entire story by falsely claiming that she went after him, when in fact she tried to prevent that.

She didn't get her friends to harass him, her friends and followers on Twitter saw and thought that they could do the same cry bully tactics that other businesses fold to. That just really drew NASA's attention to the very stuff Homer was trying to warn her of and prevent.
Naomi did ask for people to stop but it was too late. And because she lost it people blamed him and tried to harass him more while others heard of the story and harassed her because they knew who Homer was, wanted to call her dumb, and/or wanted to bully a furry.
Homer tried to help but NASA said no. Eventually she got another opportunity with NASA and tweeted about it but said she learned from the last time.
Edit: I do believe she got another chance but I cannot find the tweet that said that she did. So file the ending as unsure until I can find it again.

For those who don't know Homer Hickam is the man who wrote his life story down in the book October Sky which was later made into a movie.
It and the book tell the story of how he and some friends built model rockets back in the 50s during the space race and how he and the others went onto have very sucessful lives with homer even working at nasa later on. Not bad for a group of boys from coalwood west virginia.
