Surprised this went unanswered, the main jobs for electrical engineers is in the design of electronics from power supplies to whatever you are trying to make. BSEE's are used in any electronic design work and in troubleshooting electronic systems. There are thousands of electronic design and manufacturing jobs in nearly every industry. A doctor might use a CAT Scan device, but an EE likely designed it and may fix it when it breaks, might be a technician also.

@Brijendra Mishra Assume an identical coil-2 is placed very very close to the original one such that all flux links both the coils. Now any change in the first coil's current will change the magnetic field to change which is linked to both the coil so it will produce a voltage on coil-2(Transformer action) which will be same in magnitude and direction right ?. This means that the same voltage will develop on the first coil also because it is also in the same magnetic field as the coil-2. This voltage will oppose the current flow in the coil. Assume you applied 10V to coil-1 so the current in the coil-1 start to flow (change from zero). Which produces a changing magnetic field. Which in turn(using transformer action)produces a voltage which should be equal to 10V but will be little less due to the losses in the coils resistance and the core. So now the voltage producing the current will be less because of the voltage produced by the coil-1 is in phase with the applied voltage and will oppose the current. So the current flow is delayed (slowed).
The inductor will try to maintain the current no matter the value of resistance, I feel I have wasted years of my life searching for this concept...perfect video!!

The behavior of an inductor is not because "magnetic fields do not like to change", but it is due the production of back emf that opposes the initial current. When current starts running through the coil, it establishes a magnetic field. This establishing of magnetic field counts as a change in magnetic flux, therefore inducing a secondary current in the same coil which should generate yet another magnetic field which, according to Len'z law, should oppose that change in flux.
It is MUCH MUCH more subtle than that. It is really connected to intertial reference frame and the forces arise due to length contraction experienced by one object viewing another object in a differenct intertial reference frame. For example if me and a group of friends were standing on top of a moving bus and we were all 1 meter apart and we had a group of friends standing on the road side also 1 m apart. Then we decised to take the bus down the road, turn around and drive past the group of friends standing on the road side. We, on the bus would see that the group of friends on the road were now closer it each other than 1 m due to Einstiens lengh contraction. Likewise they would also see that we are closer to each other. From our point of view our frends on the road are more densly packed. If we were electrical charges then we would observe a hight density of charge. They would therefore be reppelled from us the we would be repelled from them. That's it.

Thanks for the great video but one question why you didnt mention about the magnetic field forms around the inductor that when the switch is open is the collapse of the magnetic field will keep the current flowing until it depletes completely then the current stops. any way very nice videos and wonder if you can make similar videos for capacitors and time constants.

Everything makes sense now!! Yessss an inductor acts like a form of electrical inertia. Like an object having mass takes time to accelerate, it has resistance to acceleration of current. Once an object in motion is in motion it would like to continue its motion, the inductor would like to continue its current flow.

Why does the whole system levitate when current passes thourgh it? Does that happen in reality or is it a way to show electric potential?
It is the latter. This idea of showing voltage as height is introduced in the first video on voltages, the one with the light bulb.

I'm very impressed with all of your videos, keep it up. You might remember me asking if you were a student, you said you weren't , so heres a follow up question, did you take some sort of electrical/computer engineering degree at some point? If not, how did you work this all out? I only ask because i'm an electrical engineering student and you are seriously helping me through my degree... (maybe not always in content (although a lot of the time its spot on) but in curiosity and connecting what i already know in another way).

Thanks for the great video but one question why you didnt mention about the magnetic field forms around the inductor that when the switch is open is the collapse of the magnetic field will keep the current flowing until it depletes completely then the current stops.
any way very nice videos and wonder if you can make similar videos for capacitors and time constants.

Everything makes sense now!! Yessss an inductor acts like a form of electrical inertia. Like an object having mass takes time to accelerate, it has resistance to acceleration of current. Once an object in motion is in motion it would like to continue its motion, the inductor would like to continue its current flow.
