I respect you for including a shot you missed. That’s integrity.
My respect for including a shot you missed but your advice is brilliant.
Laurence. Many thanks, some people believe I cannot miss, but I can assure you I certainly can. In fact I believe the player that cannot miss has not been born and never will be.
An absolute gentleman. I hope to be as good as you one day. :) Thank you.
Bojidar. Thanks for the compliment, I hope you continue to watch and enjoy the videos.
Hi Barry, I was a Blackball player 18 years ago. I decided to go back to the game. I watched all of yours videos to help me to retrieve the basics. I think this helped me a lot. So thanks for the good job. Even if I'm not english , your instructions are very clear.
Christophe.. Glad you like the videos and that they are helping.
Ive seen quite a few instructional videos on here and you by far Sir are the best coach on seen on UA-cam. Thanks for the videos and fully explaining there shots and the awesome camera work. 👍🏾
King. Thanks for that, I am grateful to Phil for the work he does with the camera.
I love these videos! You are an amazing teacher. While I'm still too unskilled to repeat shots like this consistently, they have helped me greatly.
MIchael. Keep working at it, progress is just around the corner. Good luck.
Mr Stark this is an excellent video, very useful. This must be one of the very few times where side is helpful, as far as potting is concerned.
Wonderful explanation in your unique comprehensive manner.
Thank you Sir for another useful tip. My greetings to Kyren too!!!!
George Dagopoulos Alot of the pros use side spin on long pots and I think Shaun Murphy said he finds it easier when using side
Jack_1808 Definitely, but I was referring to people like me who are in an amateur level. Most likely I will never use side on a long pot, unless I want to avoid a cannon.
I learned very much now my game is very perfect to watch your videos and practice on them Very good and informative and learning shots and videos .. Love from quetta balochistan pakistan.
Muhammad. Great that you are enjoying and learning from the videos. Good luck.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach thank u so much sir for giving me respect .. Replyed me
Thank you very much Barry. It is greatly appreciated.
This has been plaguing me forever. Practicing this right now!
Also it was quite comforting to hear that even the big guys think twice about this!
Cheers

Kristal. I have to admit that Canada is one of the places I would love to visit, so who knows you may have a visitor. Many thanks for the offer.
Thank you MOST of ALL for your coaching techniques. It’s absolutely PHENOMENAL!! Watching the “how to” to putting into it all into practice AND it works. Luv it! Again THANK YOU!!
Invaluable tuition as always Barry ..... cheers.
Martin. My pleasure.
Very useful and well explained. Especially with the squeeze and right hand spin part.
If Barry was my dad or grandad growing up I would be a world champion now
Warren. Thanks for the compliment, but a coach can only inform and guide, its still down to the player to perform.
I play pool in a local hall and your tips have helped me greatly !
Rilley. Glad to hear that, good luck.
Thanks Barry I was hoping you would cover that and I am so glad you did
lnderjit. I have tried to cover most things, eventually.
Lovely channel you've got here sir. The teaching seems very informative and easy to understand for an amateur. It's definitely improved my game.
jai. Thanks for that, the purpose of the channel is exactly as you have described.
That was a fantastic pot on the black! Those pockets look very tight as well. Certainly not the usual club size pockets!
Andyc. These are not shots that you would normally take on during a match, but I feel it is important to show what is happening.
Barry you are great coach. Plenty of respect from Pakistan
Khurram. Many thanks, glad you like the videos.
+Barry Stark Snooker Coach welcome sir
OMG Barry, you're brilliant. I know you must be told this all the time but you really are. I wish I could have you as a coach. I have my own pool table. Unfortunately my housemate is a rather good snooker player and he out classes me by a country mile. I desperately want to even the odds a little bit. So frustrating. It's my table dam it! 🤣🤣
Craig. May I suggest you try to keep the game as simply as possible. Look at where and how you hold the cue, these elements are so vital. Then try to establish a routine that puts the cue on line, then try to waggle/feather the cue keeping it straight and level, finally deliver the cue in that same straight level line. If you can do that consistently progress is just around the corner. Good luck.
I'm sure you're a fine coach. Just as or even more importantly , you seem like a pleasant, decent fellow.
vincent. Many thanks for that.
I posted a comment/question on another video about a shot I have trouble with in American 8 ball and this is the other shot I needed work on (the other being pocketing a ball sitting deep in the center of the pocket from a long distance without scratching) and I believe this will absolutely help!!
I do avoid it when possible but it does happen frequently and veering towards the rail is usually the exact result. Gonna have to give this one a practice as well as figure out the first shot I had a question about.
Procras. Please have a look at my video on the ghost ball, the ball does tend to veer towards the cushion because of the slight squeeze effect, the answer is to strike thinner than you originally thought or play with a little side to eliminate the squeeze. Most snooker players(not all) would prefer to play with the side, as always experimentation and practise is the answer.
thanks mr. stark i now feel good
lmao
You have really good experience in snooker , God bless you
Thanks, you too!
I agree using a white ball with dots on it will help to show all demonstrations
Thanks
I have noticed that side effect helps with these types of shots, thanks for reinforcing and clarifying it more, the ghost ball and the line is what i use to aim but at larger angles i tend to look at the side of the white ball if it hits the side of the other ball, sometimes i try to barely it the other ball with the white and i miss.
Iceman. Side can obviously be a tremendous advantage to a player but please be careful and try to use it sparingly.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Definitely, thanks.
Very very well explained
Glad it was helpful!
Barry I tried this. And it definitely works!
Thank you a great video and well explained too!
Top coaching Barry........
Zennorman. Glad that you like the video.
Such a tough shot, thanks for the lesson though, really helpful
J F. Certainly very tough, not one to play in a competitive game, however, it does show what is needed to stand the best chance of success.
Brilliant

Thank you Mr. Stark!

Ok, that helps a lot. Look at the line of the shot. Thank you Barry....Sal : )

wena. Great that the video is helpful to you.
Informative. Thank you Sir
khalid. My pleasure.
You da real MVP sir
I've heard another theory about why you would use a little right hand side (English) as you did in your demonstration. When the cue ball collides with the object ball at a 30 to 45 degree angle as in your demonstration, the friction between the cue ball and the object ball will tend to throw or push the object ball to the right, in the direction of the tangent line as you have suggested. The opposite will occur when cutting to the left. But if you add a little right hand side when cutting to the left, the cue ball will tend to roll off the object reducing or eliminating the friction between the two balls and thus eliminating the throw effect. Clean, polished balls, without chalk marks will also reduce the throw effect.
Jack. The effect of friction is always slightly more when the cue ball is spinning into the body of the object ball rather that spinning away from the body of the object ball.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Mr. Stark, thanks so much for your reply. Your videos are the best on the Internet. I watch them all and I don't play snooker any more. Now I play 8-Ball and 9-Ball but it seems your advice is equally applicable to all pool games.
With regard to the cue ball "spinning away" from the object ball, does that mean that in your video example, using a little right side when cutting to the left causes spinning away from the object ball and therefore the friction has less effect on the object ball than if you applied left side?
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Barry you're a legend and a fantastic coach
I was already good at pool but after watching these video's I'm red hot now
Oneness. That's is great to hear. well done.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Cheers , I didn't really realize how much there is too learn. I need a better cue now cause I'm sure that china junk is holding me back. it makes this nasty snap sound & vibrates :(
4:40 Keep me eye (oops) my* eye - on the black" - love it 😂
NerdvanaNC. Slip of the tongue I am afraid, must watch my grammar.
THE most important thing I realized about these shots a few years ago is not to take them on! If you miss the pot (and even for a player as good as Barry it's a 50% shot) you are almost guaranteed to leave your opponent an easy pot, look where the white ends up. It is easy to play safe instead and leave the white "glued" to the top cushion. There's only one big break prize in our league and I'll never win it anyway!
The use of the "Ghost balling" method and picturing the line the object ball will (hopefully) take are definitely useful techniques. The suggested applicaction of "running' side to 'assist' the pot however seems to just be making the pot more difficult as 'guessing' the amount of throw (which will include pace, nap and humidity (I play in Australia)) seems to be making a difficult process more so. Just my opinion.
Jonathan. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you are right in the belief that some players prefer to play plain ball rather than use the side indicated in the video but there is no doubt that on cut shots there is a slight element of squeeze off the true aiming line, this can be alleviated by aiming a little thinner or by the use of side, as I have often said, " Euclid breaks down at this game" the choice is the players.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Thankyou so much for your timely reply Barry, you're a true gentleman. I find watching your lessons one of the more enjoyable (and informative) pleasures in my recently rekindled love of cue sports. What an amazing contribution you've made to our game! ... miraculously facilitated by this distance defying medium (I didn't think I'd like 'the future', but it's not too bad!). Best wishes, Jonathan.
Thanks Barry, you're top man. Have a great day!
martin. Many thanks.
That is one of three ways to execute that shot. It all depends on what position you want the cue ball to finish.
Robert. Of course. All the video was showing was the best way to pot the ball and demonstrated how difficult the pot is even without trying to obtain cue ball position.
Thnx Sir... very informative videos

Thank you Sir.

Thanks to teach me that short
Barry, an acute angle is less than 90 degrees, an obtuse angle is more than 90 degrees, you stand corrected.
Young. A silly mistake, well spotted.
Keeping the teacher pace, only a triviality, John Virgo used the same vernacular whilst commentating matches too.
In Snooker parlance an acute (angle) shot generally means one where less than a quarter ball contact would be used.
basically the point here is not to rely on any 'aiming method' you dont wanna be thinking of how/where you should aim at something at an actual game.
Your shot appeared to have a lot more than a 'little touch of right hand side'; was this the fault of the camera angle.
It was a decent amount of side, nothing crazy though
The camera angle made it look a lot more than it was. Generally don't want more than half a tip of right hand side for this shot. So where the right edge of your ferrule normally points to when you strike the cue ball in the centre - aim the middle of your tip there for this shot.
theallseeingmaster. The camera angle is a little deceptive on this, Jack below sums it up well.
Dear Barry,
It's been a long time I wrote to you or I had to take any suggestions. I want to congratulate you on Kyren's performance in the wsc18. He has improved a lot and the credit equally goes to you as well.
I have a very basic query that how to make sure on every shot, when we do a pre shot routine, that a player is on the line of the shot EVERYTIME?
This problem (in my game) has ruined the consistency and the break ends prematurely.
Will be very helpful in improving my (and for that matter everyone's) game.
Thanks and regards
Yogesh. The margins of errors are very small at this game, of course it is important to be on the right line but experience has taught me that the main reason players miss is not because they are off line, but because they are not delivering the cue where they are aiming consistently. Check your alignment on the baulk line, get that right and work on a routine that puts it on that line every time. Now take that alignment routine to every shot and if you miss you will know that you have either selected the wrong angle or that you have not delivered the cue correctly.
thanks a ton Barry..You're the BEST.
But if I put right hand side on that example shot, it is going to push the cue ball to the left, which will push the object ball into the cushion, before it gets to the pocket.
Ian. Played at the right speed with the right amount of side the push of the cue ball to the left will be minimal, granted there is always an element of assessment to be made but that is where practise comes in. Try to hit the ball smoothly with varying degrees of side and note the different reactions of cue ball and object ball.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Thanks Barry.
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. Can you explain in your next video why does "squeeze effect" happens in certain angles for the ghost Ball Method? Thank you
Lu. On one of my videos I have explained this with the use of a laser, please have a look. I think it was number 29.
The thing is, when playing with side like that you're not aiming at the actual line of the shot, you have to compensate for the varying amount of side, the distance between cueball and object ball and the way the table plays. This is the thing I struggle with, however much I practice that kind of heavily angled shot.
Austin. Please don't believe you are the only one that struggles with side, we all do. My real advice is to use it sparingly, try to improve your cue ball strike by hitting it as smooth as possible, by doing that you will make using side slightly easier.
Wow,,,,,, thanks a lot Sir.....
Thank you sir
Zigmeela. My pleasure, glad you like the video.
Hey barry thanks once again for the on cue cam 👌 do you know mike smith? Snooker coach. He used to teach me on a sunday morning at burslem snooker hall stoke ??
Mike. I know Mike Smith very well, lovely guy and a very good player, he use to practise at Hanley. He may be retired by now but I understand he lectured on sport Psychology, if he did I will wager he was very good at it because he never did anything in half measures.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach yes brill guy would love to meet you too barry
Hi Barry. Can you make a video on how to make sure, when you go down to the table to play your shot, not to have any doubts on where the cue ball needs to contact the object ball in order to pot successfully please?
Stephane. Aiming correctly is one thing and of course that is important, but what is often forgot is the fact that delivering the cue consistently where you are aiming is far more difficult. If you set up a straight shot you will find that even if an amateur is aiming correctly he will often record a high percentage of misses, that is simply because he has not delivered the cue where he is aiming. It is exactly the same with shots that are not straight, aiming is generally not the problem, delivering the cue where the player is aiming is the biggest problem and that is down to a poor cue action. Work on that cue action and you will soon find that the rest will fall into place.
OK but what about having doubts on aiming properly? Any advice(s) or tips to help with that?
Sir i have been following your videos for more than four years. i have an issue which i couldn't find addressed in any of your videos. when i play the shot low on cue ball i more likely to pot the object ball but using top side of the cue ball i more likely to miss the pot. Secondly if i play an over powered shot i pot if i try to pot with much low power or dead weight i miss most of the time. please make some video on these issues. Thanks
Wagas. I will see what I can do.
"I dont care if youre ronnie O'sullivan." (Cuts to compilation vid) "DROP IT...."
yeah you cant really use O'Sullivan in comparisons and comments as he isnt normal like us
I was just having this problem the other day!
Great channel you run there Barry, out of interest what cue do you use?
david. It is a John Parris Ash cue.
I thought it looked like one of John's i've got the Stirling cue, but i can't play as good as you with it! I lack consistency :(
Barry this tip has helped me... Can u suggest how do you play the shot when you have cue ball and object both sticking to the cusion
Sandeep. First and foremost be very careful and treat the shot with the ultimate respect. Along the black cushion the balls should tend to hug the cushion a little because of the nap of the cloth. At the baulk end the nap tends to cause the balls to come away from the cushion so the shot is a little more difficult. Play them both with centre ball striking.

Thank u...
Good evening sir. I have a question about my grip. Many a times I have noticed at the time of delivery i twist my grip. How do I bring my grip in control and not twist it?
Raj. This is probably due to gripping the cue too tight, try to feel where the cue is in the 'V' throughout the action, trying to maintain the slight pressure ( I use that term loosely) centrally in the 'V'. The 'V' is the web of flesh between the thumb and forefinger.
Barry, damn I'm so confused. I thought that using right hand (outside) English kicked the ball _towards_ the rail not away from it. For example, if I do a straight shot and use right hand English, then it seems to kick the ball to the right. Why would it kick to the left for a wide cut?
Dhiraj. Try to think about the cue ball spinning in an anti clockwise direction (right hand side) as it hits the object ball. There is a certain amount of friction between the two balls so in the example shown the object ball gets marginally kicked away from the top cushion.
Great tutorial, though having a perfect table helps which isn't always the case in some snooker clubs.
Andrew. Very good point.
@@BarryStarkSnookerCoach Thanks. The pockets on today's tables are also more generous than they were when I started playing in the days of say Davis and White
More reason not to take the shot on if the table is not top notch.
Hello Sir. I'm always striving towards attaining perfection in the game. I had a cue which I was using from 2 years. I was consistently scoring atleast 50+ breaks whenever I got a chance. The cue got bent somehow and from then on my game became worse day by day. I decided to buy a new cue and now my game is even more worse. The difference in the cue is that my previous tip was 8.5 and now it's 9.3-9.4 and .5oz heavier. Can you please help me out?
Hi Barry, your videos are great and have helped a bunch, thanks!
However, Ive been playing for about a year and a half and a month ago noticed my cue'ing is not "straight"(Perpetually fail the test of shooting the cue ball down a line and having it touch the tip on rebound) and Ive tried absolutely everything but nothing seems to bring my cue onto the aim line fully.
Ive tried:
-Every reasonable elbow position
-Every reasonable stance
-Every vision center
-Adjusting the bridge hand
-having all different kinds of fixed points on my chest and body
Nothing seems to work. I know theres something I have not fixed because everytime I think ive found the solution and pot the next 15-20 balls great before I start missing simple pots again, would really appreciate any help, thanks!
Constance. I am sorry but without seeing you play it is difficult to offer constructive advise. You seem to have exhausted most things. I believe you should seek the advise of a coach in your area.
You should voice a nature documentary
Jackson. I think I had better stick to what I know, and leave the nature programmes to David Attenborough.
Barry I don't understand the squeeze effect when two balls are touching, can you explain this? Also, is there a need for a tip clamp when replacing the tip on a cue, if so how long should you leave it on for?
Daragh. One of my videos explains the squeeze better that I can using just words alone, please have a look. There is no need for a tip clamp if you are using super glue, just press down for a few seconds and it will be stuck. If you use impact adhesive it is best to use a tip clamp and I just leave it overnight, although that is probably a little excessive.
I did and I think I get it now, the ball nearest the pocket is pulled slightly in the same direction as the ball that is struck is going. Thanks barry
Do you have to get a certain white ball to get good spins cause it seems to me that whenever I try back spin it still goes a touch forward.
It'z. The cue ball should be the same size and weight as the rest of the balls. If you are having trouble applying back spin it is more than likely that your technique is letting you down. Chalk your cue, strike low, keep the cue parallel, relax and get through that ball, it will come back. Please don't try to run before you can walk, keep the balls fairly close together, "about 12 inches apart" Don't even aim to pot a ball initially, just aim for a cushion and this will allow you to place all your concentration into screwing the ball back. You can progress to potting the object ball and screwing for position later.
barry, i have a question as to why the professional players tap their middle finger on the table? thanks in advance
Krvy. Most professionals don't do this but I admit a few do. This is just their way of trying to relax, or it is just a nervous little habit that they have developed over the years. We all have our own little idiosyncrasies but this is one that should not be copied.
Hi Barry I've just got some taom chalk and wondered what chalk you personally use thanks.
Snooker. I haven't tried the Taom chalk yet, I still use the Triangle chalk.
I just got my taom chalk on Saturday and am liking it
Hi barry im armin again🙈 , i need some help with my aiming 😔 in dead straight shots when im aiming to the middle of the object ball , my cue ball goes to the left of it all the time , and the object ball is going to the right? Whats the problem and how i can fix it plaese help me . Im right handed and right eye dominant
Armin. You are obviously putting right hand side on the cue ball. This could be that you are hitting the cue ball on the right or that you are cueing across the ball or both. First of all check that you are cueing straight on the baulk line, if that is okay check that you are hitting the centre of the cue ball. To do this have a look at my video which advocates using a loop bridge to look down on the cue ball, looking down on the cue ball and cue tip is the true picture, looking along the cue can give a different and sometimes a false picture, you have to balance the two.
Thats not about putting right hand side because im practice cue ball up and down the table 10 minutes every day , its about my aiming 😔
Barry my question is why most of pros all time play with medium and short bridge distance how all they can do it ... Ronniie or Shaun or john Higgins they play with most shot with short bridge distance
Nirmal. If your hand is too close to the cue ball it will restrict the back swing, too far away and you will tend to lose control of the cue. I find that the ideal position for most shots is between 10 and 11 inches. Please have a look at my video which highlights this.
Thank you sir
Barry - do you play billiards? I would love to see some billiards videos from you!
BFG. I have played a little billiards in my time and of course I know some of the basic shots, but I would never call myself a billiard player. There are plenty of billiard tutorials on UA-cam, one of the best I have seen is by a player called Bob Marshall, please have a look if there is an interest in billiards.
Dear coach barry
I want to ask you why you think looking away after seeing the object ball defies the purpose? I look away sometimes and while im looking away im visualizing the angle so that when i look back at the object ball i can see the angle again with fresh vision, definitely it helps more to maintain vision while moving but is it ALWAYS the case ? Thank you
Yasser. There is no doubt that everyone is different and although I find that most players benefit from not looking away, if you look away sometimes but not others and your game is sound then please carry on. I must say though that I favour a set routine particularly on blind pocket shots and most players will benefit from this.
Rather than play using side, could you just cut it a bit finer or would that just send the cue ball faster up the table.
jadonx. The shot was played without any consideration as to where the cue ball was going. You could just hit the object ball finer but the video just showed how side can and does kick the object ball reducing the need to hit the ball finer which can be very difficult for some players.
One of our club members told me once, that pros do play these kind of shots with side, because the object ball have side effect in the inside of the pocket.
Isn’t this nonsense? Can I transfer the side effect of the queue ball to the object ball? I understand, that I can achieve no more than a small change (kick) in the contact/change of the shot angle. What do you think?
Lennart. There is a small amount of side transferred to the object ball but this very quickly dissipates and will have no beneficial effect by helping the object ball into the pocket off the jaws of the pocket. The benefit comes from changing the angle the object ball takes after contact with the cue ball.
Barry Stark Snooker Coach thank you very much for your reply! :)
Thank you so much coach but my question is how to over cutting balls plzz
daud Shahid I assume you've just worded this incorrectly and you're not looking for advice on how to miss balls aha. The simple answer, practice, I've made a 72 break but haven't been playing snooker for long at all but I still miss my fair share of balls by overcutting them, will come with time, another good way is to go and check the potting angle before you play the shot, this can help at times
Sir one question if the cue is bent slightly does it make any difference bcoz I use club cues and all the cues their are bent so does it make any difference?
Shane. It is often possible to rotate the cue so that any bend is not visible when you are down on the shot. My own cue has a slight bend in it which I have got used to and does not bother me. Having said that, if you are continually using different cues your progress will be thwarted perhaps it is time to invest in one of your own.
Ghost ball theory never worked for me. I try the parallel balls.
hello sir i am 9 years old.I have a question ,that when i was playing in a club i came along for a draw shot .i knew to play it at the bottom and with good force, but when i played the shot it didnt screw back even a inch.it just stopped (like a stun shot)Please mr Stark tell me that what should i do ??And thanks for your awesome videos.
faraz. Obviously the greater the distance between the two balls then the more force is needed to stop any back spin from dissipating before the cue ball hits the object ball. But generally speaking it is technique not power that gets the cue ball to screw back. Start with the balls fairly close together, hit the cue ball at the bottom, get through the ball and it will come back. The main reasons that the ball doesn't come back is because players don't hit the ball where they think they are hitting it, strike low and keep the cue parallel. Don't be too ambitious to start with, remember that you are a beginner, be patient, practise a lot and it will come. Good luck.
Lol I assume for 9yr old it's difficult to do perfect cueing with proper stands because of height disadvantage, your body can't distribute the proper stroke needed for drawback.
It is better if you use a white ball with some dot on it!
Dear Barry,
can u suggest something about how to keep a cool temperament?
Shezad. Visualisation and diaphragmatic breathing always help a player to relax. A sound pre- shot routine gives the player confidence, the breathing slows the heart rate down when done correctly but it does require a little practise.
Barry Stark Snooker Coach thanks for the advice,i'll surely give it a try..
But mostly coaches us that play it with inner side means left hand side it will press the black ball to go along the cushion n in the pocket now what should i do??? 😵
Shahzadi. In the example shown most players would play this with right hand side visualising the object ball maintaining the slight distance away from the cushion. If the object ball was touching the cushion and you were approaching from the angle shown left hand side would be used, this tends to increase the target area and makes the shot slightly easier because of it.
Why not cut a bit more than applying side?
Sagar. Some players prefer to play the shot without side but most will definitely prefer to use side. As I have said in another video there is a slight squeeze effect when played without side and it can be difficult to judge, the side eliminates the squeeze and for most players makes the shot easier to judge.
Hello sir can you explain me what is pressure grip ... Can you make video on this topic
Nirmal. A video will not show the degree of pressure used on the grip, it will only show the formation of the grip. Be aware of what part of the hand is touching and holding the cue but feel as though you are just cradling it rather than gripping it. Some players have a firmer grip that others, just experiment until you find the amount of pressure that suits you.
Barry Stark Snooker Coach Ronnie talking in her Masterclass ... Ronnie say for deep screw you have tight grip and some follow run through you have no grip at alll
Hello sir can you make on video on piston like cue action how its look and ..how i do properly just give information about piston like cue action ..thank you sir..
Nirmal. Developing a piston like cue action just means keeping the cue parallel to the table as you move the cue backwards and forwards. It is also important to develop a nice rhythm while you do this and I have already covered these aspects of the game on video, please have a look.
Barry Stark Snooker Coach thank you sir ..but in which video name of video
if the black ball along on cushion i must shot little on left handside..right sir?
world. In the example shown if the ball is touching the cushion it is probably a little easier to use running side ( left hand) with the ball off the cushion as shown use plain ball or right hand side.
Just in time for my match later, the first shot did you played with sides?
Daniel. As I said in the video, please be careful this is a difficult shot and yes I did play with a little side.
Daniel Lim Yeah if you've got this shot in a black ball game don't take it on, play safe or attempt the shot to nothing double to the opposite corner
Barry. I tend to put right hand side on the ball however when I move the cue it doesn't help. Should I stand back up and move the whole stance and re address the shot? Much thanks
Would like to have seen you play the shot without side to show the difference.
Very handy
Which cue is perferable for beginners
Nithesh Rsn A fairly cheap one
Woods cues are around £60 for the cheaper variety and are decent quality from what I've seen
Hi Coach
Can you please make a video on the rules of snooker which most people dont really talk about?
Push shot
Free ball
Touching ball
Any others which rarely happen
When your opponent takes a shot and its touching ball on the red, and its your turn, can your hit another red ball that is set up or do you have to play away?
