You watch 100's of videos, all very informative. Then you come across a presenter like Mitch that is just so relatable, and makes the entire project so simple. Thanks
Did this to my countertops just like you showed in your video. Turned out absolutely beautiful!!! Can't tell it's not granite. Thank you.
You are having way too much fun making these videos. I am in Grants Pass too. I cant wait till my new cabinets are made.
Paint and epoxy that is the easiest formula I've seen yet. Great job Mitch
Thanks bro!
I love that you show the things you don't care for. It truly helps all of us. You do such Beautiful work, but again I so appreciate any steps you do but don't necessarily care for. Its always trial and error.
Retired just bought home in the Portuguese Azoren island floors will be epoxy thanks to this channel 🎉
LOVE what you created. This is my first time watching you and I am “sold”. Will be reviewing more of your videos
This video came in a timely manner, as I prepare to do my own countertop. Thank you for sharing your artistic flare, and technique that makes a stunning countertop.
Mitch, thank you for telling us that SCC is VOC free! I have been wondering that for a while now! I honestly don't think I've heard that in your videos before, and I've watched almost all of them. Also, thanks for showing us how to use a heat gun on the bubbles, as I would be terrified of using a torch!
The Quist brothers are Masters! I miss working with you Mitch. Have a great day and thanks for the awesome tips!
Miss ya Paul! Hope you're well brother
@@mitchquist Im good brother, can’t kill bad grass. Thanks!
@@paulstoolbox Miss yah man! We gotta get you out to us and you and mitch make something cool one of these days -Luc
This granite countertop with paint!!!! Blown away. SUPER SLICK! Bout to start binge watching 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Welcome! Let me know if you have any questions
Wow! This is really cool. I can't believe how easy it looks! Great job 👏
You guys are so awesome! I’ve been very skeptical with the DYI countertops but this is not only simpler but better yet more cost effective for those with a large kitchen.
We're happy that you like this technique! What about the coloring process with the epoxy has had you weary about it?
@@StoneCoatCountertops honestly, it’s just the process itself and hoping that if I go for it I don’t miss up..lol
Loved the spray coat added. Not so much the shimmer with alcohol. So obvious you all love what to do.
I DID IT!!!! Just letting it dry. It looks awesome. This is my second project. I did my floor earlier this year. I'd love to tag you guys in some pictures. Next is my bathroom. I GOT THIS!!! Thank you Stone Coat Countertops
Did you sand it before hand?
Was doing the floors difficult?
@@myronhorne8173 No honestly it wasn't. I watched the videos and went through some of the videos where they answered questions live and my questions were answered. I'm about to do my bathroom next. I love my kitchen
TL Lewis cool. Yeah same here. I’m trying to do something similar. Maybe you could upload a video or picture to your channel so I can check it out
Thank you for the information. I want to do a coffee table using epoxy but was afraid. After watching your video, I think I can do it!
This is one I really like! Looks pretty simple
That looks simply awesome!! 👏👏 And easily duplicatable!! 👍 My rainbow mind is going what would a rainbow fantasy granite look like, lol!! 🌈
Love to see this is dark & light shades of blues and silver
Mitch i wish this video wouldve came out 3 weeks ago lol, i actually had to do this same technique to try to match a customers counter top, worked out great thanks for all your videos and thanks to all you at stone coat and rk
You're welcome, thanks for watching! I'll be out with RK3 in June for a class!
Awesome ill be watching!
@@mitchquist hey Mitch i got one for you, i got a request to redo a swimming pool slide, about 8 foot long, fiberglass, may do an ocean scene, should i use art coat or something else for u v ray protection, it has continuous water flow so it will be slick , probably put top coat on it to enhance anti friction, any advice ? Thanks so much for all you guys do
Thank You 🙏 I keep learning, Mitch I appreciate your unique style of teaching, looking forward to continue following another amazing Artist 👩🎨
Thanks Kelli, this was a wonderful comment to read!! Let me know if you have any questions 👍
This is a wonderful comment, thanks for taking the time to brighten all our days with your positivity!
Love this! The colors are awesome. Great job Mitch.
I absolutely love this product it so easy to use! We did our kitchen recently and I absolutely love the way my countertops came out!!!
That is absolutely stunning!! I would like to see some pinks along with blacks and greys please!
I'd love to see more of a marble look with the faux paint process.
Aight you got me ima do this. i do fiberglass work anyway so this looks easy as could be to me
Awesome work. Looks amazing. Would like to see natural White and off white colors with diamond Flakes. Always enjoy your work
Love it❤
Would love to see more black and gray with maybe some white metallic.
I love how he is walking back and forth , as if he is hyping himself up, ready to power lift 900 lbs. hahah.. I love these videos. Thanks guys
Love your enthusiasm and all of your comments.
We love granite that is grey green and has a few hints of light rose believe it or not. Some greens have black and brown/tan. Always grey green tone.
Also do you ever do a mix on top of butcher block where you let the wood slightly show thru? Maybe with glazing to thin it? That could spruce up a lot of peoples wood countertops for a new look. Thank you. Have subscribed.
Man. You're great at your job....
Love your videos...
I just order my products and getting ready to attempt an old bathroom vanity top. Depending on how it turns out, my kitchen countertops are next!! I’ll for sure be doing some before and afters.
Exciting! Let me know if you have any questions. You Got This!
Shanon I'm going to be doing both of mine too. Sick of seeing my old pale yellow counters. Yucky yellow!
@@wyomingadventures you an me both!! Let’s knock these out 💪🏾
Nice piece brother. Amazing work! 👏
Great technique, great video!
You are fantastic, great job! Thank you for sharing.
Loved this one, Mitch!!! I think I'm looking at my new countertop...
🔥🔥🔥❤️Let me know if u have any questions, I'd be happy to help get your project started
Nice video...informative!! I like your sense of humor too😂😂❤❤
I like the last bit of metallic and isopropyl you misted. Hard to tell in the video, but it looked like it gave it a more realistic granite effect.
Yay I love the way it turned out. Those are the colors I want to do on my counter tops. Going to check out your site now
Let me know if u have any questions!
I’ll have to find out my square footage of my countertops
I love this & would love to be able to do this with my own countertop but just not sure how easily this would work on back splash & countertop that's already mounted, without making a huge mess in my kitchen, lol. Love your videos & your enthusiasm though! Your work is gorgeous!
Apparently he doesn't think people's counter tops have sinks or back splashes; this seems to work on a center island counter top.
Great job Mitch
awesome guys YOU GOT THIS!
I have been doing various enhancements to my wood turning. I could see sponging onto a turned object with a resin coating. I gotta try that.
I actually like the side with the black alcohol!
Keep it up sir 👏 👍 👌 very nice work 👏 👍
I love this and I am getting ready to paint my countertops..very helpful thanks
Glad it was helpful! Will you add some epoxy to finish off your countertops?
Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help get your project started 😊
Wow. This is amazing!
Looks awesome.
You should do a video with problems people have with these resin Technics. And what caused the problem? I.e. person errors, bad supplies out of date resin, paint?✌️❤️
That is awesome. I used sponge blotting/dabbing for a similar effect a medicine cabinet (without the epoxy though)
The epoxy will keep that faux effect safe for a long time! Thanks for watching
@@StoneCoatCountertops I've been worried that the steam from the bathroom will negatively affect the finish without the epoxy.
@@tengen3613 steam isn't going to effect epoxy. Epoxy is extremely durable. Just make sure you use good quality epoxy.
beautiful as always, man
I have mentioned a number of times how much I love that dark blue that is standing behind your work tables. That is exactly what I want. I just don’t know how to do the measuring to find out how many square feet I need. It looks like the shape of an L but the bottom corner where it meets together is cut off sort of. Can you give me an idea on how to measure with that wedge cut out of it? My sink is at an angle and the countertop follows the direction of the sink in the back. I hope that makes sense to you. Thanks for your help, I love watching your videos. I wish I didn’t known about you guys 20 years ago, I could’ve had a good business! Thanks Mitch God bless. P.S. I am curious to see what it would look like if you actually did the kitchen cabinet doors or the cabinet boxes before hanging them. Have you ever done anything like that? Thanks guys.
❤❤That’s really amazing great job
I would love to see it done in brown. You do a great job.
Keep hitting those homers man 💪
Thanks so much Paul! Great comment!!!
Nice job looks absolutely wonderful hehe.🤣😂😀😜👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏
I'm getting some strong Bob Ross vibes from these videos, and I love it.
This looks beautiful. For the semi-gloss latex layers I would like to use the same shade of creamy white that I have in my walls, the olive-ish shade of gold that goes with the flooring, and the black that matches the cabinets, with black stone spray accents. And I might try some alcohol with gold metallic in it on a sample piece to see if I like it. I already have satin latex - will that work the same as semi-gloss latex?
Looks amazing! I see some sparkle on your roller when applying the paint. How do I get the sparkle?!
I may never do an epoxy project but I do like watching the videos.
We appreciate you watching our videos. Let us know if you have any questions if you want to start a project of your own one day we are happy to help.
@@StoneCoatCountertops will do, thanks
This is amazing! ♥️
Beautiful work. I have a bathroom counter that has been epoxy with teal green and stones embedded in the epoxy. My question is can I epoxy over the existing counter top? I really want a black base color with white veining contrast, like a soap stone effect. But I want a matte finish. Can I still achieve this look? Please let me know. Thanks.
I love your work and love the videos but I was curious, if you create this kind of working countertop, how do you clean it, what sort of cleaner? I use alcohol, water, and a few drops of dish soap as my go-to cleaning solution? Is that alright? Can you cut on it?
You should post video on full kitchen with counter ready installed!
Whoa!!!❤ how cool!
i used your art coat for 1 half of my kitchen countertops, saw this video and immediately want to re do the whole project using this technique, im assuming to go over an already epoxied top i only have to 1)sand it 2) paint new white base layer over it 3) apply paints using this technique? or do i have to peal all the epoxy off?
Love your work!
What kind of base material can you use to get this look?
Would these countertops withstand the outdoors? Looking to replace our outdoor patio table top.
I have a small kitchen and think I would like really light colors to make the space look larger. Any suggestions on how to make something like Carrera marble?
How do you install the counter? Can this be done over an old tiled counter, or it has to be demo'd first? Thanks!
That is beautiful
Can I put this over laminate old bathroom counter top? Do I need to sand it 1st? Or just roll it on like the video? Wondering about prep?
Thank you..
You should have listed the shades of gray you used. Really like the technique used. Paint is a lot cheaper than epoxy so redoing the color scheme until it's exactly what you want is easier and cheaper.
Good idea, I'll get color names in the description and I'll add them to this comment when I'm back in the shop. I'm off site doing a floor in a master closet!
@@mitchquist Thank you for adding the colors to description box.
@@mitchquist Wow. That's a real high-visibility high-traffic high-end "location".
"50 Shades of Grey" isn't a real thing in the paint world, genius. And you have to be a moron to buy 4 full cans of 4 "shades of gray" regardless of how "cheap" paint is (like anybody would put down CLEAR EPOXY and then decide to "redo" the "whole thing" that is smart enough to know you're NEVER going to "redo" jack shit AFTER applying the epoxy which is PERMANENT unless you like a hammer and chisel "texture" in your "original countertop") when EVERY "shade of gray" is a MIXTURE OF BLACK AND WHITE AND YOU'RE ALREADY BUYING WHITE FOR THE "BASE COAT" AND ONLY NEED TWO "COLORS" - NEITHER OF WHICH IS GRAY - FOR YOUR "SHADES OF GRAY" SO-CALLED "PAINT SCHEME".
AND BY THE WAY GOOD LUCK "REDOING" IT UNTIL YOU GET IT RIGHT "CHEAP" WHEN EVERY FAILED ATTEMPT WILL REQUIRE YOU TO COVER ALL THOSE "SHADES OF GRAY" WITH MORE "BASE COATS" OF WHITE BEFORE "STARTING OVER".
THIS "SYSTEM" IS SUCH A COMPLETE JOKE COMPARED TO BUYING REAL STONE COUNTERTOPS OR HAVING AN EXISTING COUNTERTOP "OVERLAID" WITH A STONE "VENEER" - BOTH OF WHICH ARE BOTH "2 DAY JOBS" FOR ANY REAL COUNTERTOP PROS. ONE "DAY" FOR MEASURING AND PREP AND ONE "DAY" FOR INSTALLATION.
THE ABAOLUTE BARE MINIMUM THIS JOKE "SYSTEM" TAKES BETWEEN "COATS" IS "24 HOURS" AND THAT'S IN AN "IDEAL SITUATION". YOU'LL FUCK AROUND FOR A "WEEK" DOING IT "RIGHT" AND MAKING SURE EACH COAT IS FULLY "CURED" BEFORE APPLYING THE NEXT AND THAT'S IF YOU GET THE "COLOR SCHEME" RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
AND "CLEANUP"? THERE IS NO "CLEANING UP" 2-PART EPOXY ONCE IT "ACTIVATES" AND BEGINS CURING WITHOUT THE TYPE OF "CLEANING" AND "CLEANER" YOU ABSOLUTELY DON'T WANT TO BE DOING IN OR USING IN YOUR "NEW KITCHEN" UNLESS YOU WANT TO "REDO" EVERY SURFACE AND SUBSTANCE YOU "CLEAN".

I might try this, but I wish he would have mentioned if you have to lightly sand the finished work.?. Anyone know if the clear coat epoxy is the very last step? Thanks
Would it be a good idea to sand and add another coat, or just leave the single? Any benefits, or just added cost and labor??
How do you get rid of the pattern that is made by the roller... I could see it in the video, and would like some advice before beginning.
Do we need to sand the top (after paint) before applying clear coat?
Can I use this same routine to make a resin grave headstone..?
Very interesting.. I just did this same technique on my walls.
I recommend getting the 4 inch sea sponge rollers instead.. the 9 inch absorb way too much paint, and get heavy, and waste paint.
I start with darkest color 1st.
If you go really light final coat with the lightest color at the end, and just add some here and there, it's like a ghosting effect.
I wouldve done the alcohol with metallic right after the final coat of paint.
Also, put some spray paint on your gloved fingertips and flick onto the surface (like gold, or silver).
Then, if you take a small popsicle stick and make little "cuts" here and there, it makes it look really awesome.
I like what you said about affordability. This eliminates all the epoxy from the color coat phase. Hmmm good call.
Hi, I looked for paint roller on Amazon and I can't find it ☹️
Super nice!!
great video I am glad that he is testing things out for us. love this so much
Can you use this on a cutting board. Or cutting on countertops will they hold up?. Thinking about trying in some rental properties.
Awesome thanks!
Totally 👌 👏 👍 😍 awesome, thanks!
Oh man, I LOVE THAT!
Super easy to do and it looks amazing. Would you recreate this design on any of your projects?
this is one of my favs
Would there be any way possible you could post the exact paint roller you used I'm sorry I couldn't find the roller you are using in your video..thank you so much
How did you do the exotic stone on the far left?
Can you put epoxy on the build in 4" backsplash, won't it run down to the bottom. Is it possible to put on very thin coats so it holds and doesn't drip down.
Is this technique just used for granite or marble or can it be for any other surfaces?
My wife has painted a vanity countertop and sink and we like what she's done, so can we just apply a coat of the heat resistant epoxy over it or the Art be even better because it's right next to a window?
Way to go Mitch, I love this look seeing a new sample in my weekend.
Could you list the colors of grey you used? They look good together. This is another great technique for bathrooms or going over laminate.
I'll add the colors I used in the description when I get back in the office! Great suggestion!
@@StoneCoatCountertopslove it but we need it lighter since cabinets are dark ! Can we just do a white and the light grey you used only? Maybe with a clear light sparkle spray instead of the black stone spray you used?
Gorgeous
Thanks Heidi!
Let me know if you have any questions
That's money, I love the ones behind you especially the blue.
Thanks! All those pieces have been videos on the channel! You've been subscribed for so long! Thanks, can I send you some epoxy to use for a project?
@@StoneCoatCountertops Yes sir, thanks!
What type of material are you using, and can be used,, as the base? Would like to do this for counter top and a wall.
What if you tear the straight edges on those roller pads so you don't get the shape lines?
I wanted to ask if bubbles come up after apoxy do you sand it or what ?
with this type of procedure would I need a seal coat and a flood coat all together I have a total of 50 sq ft.
what kind of board are you using. what was the coating on the board you started with.
Loved this technique!! I would love to see a black, gray and blue roll on project!
Cool idea!! Have you worked with epoxy in a project yet?
