THIS! I haven’t even finished my hallway and already LOVE it! Thank you!!
I'm so glad you like it 🥰🥹💞
This is the easiest I’ve seen. Yup. This is it. Thank you!!!
So glad you like it!! 🥰
That's a superb vine.. you have great taste. Love that vintage lime paint .
it's beautiful and i think a little green friend to the decor will set nicely
I followed this process to paint a dark blue/green accent wall and it turned out incredible!! Thanks for sharing!
Yaaay 🍀🥰
Hey! I have been thinking of doing a green/blue wall too, do you have any pictures or IG or Pinterest maybe to show how it turned out? Ofc it’s completely ok if you don’t, I just thought I’d take my chance and ask because I am painting all four walls of my bedroom and it would be nice to see how it looks before I commit 😅
@@DeekshaKoli Ack, I uploaded a bunch of pictures to pinterest and then tried to link it here and I guess UA-cam deleted my comment!! :(
@@samodell5157Wpuld also love to see images too! About to paint my alcove green using this technique!
@@samodell5157pleaseeee find a way to send through pictures! I can’t find any examples with using normal paint to get a dark colored limewash-style finish. I’d try limewash itself if I wasn’t concerned with the upkeep with dogs, or the difficulty of painting over it when I inevitably want to change in a few years!
Thank you for making this video! I don’t feel overwhelmed anymore with trying this in my daughter’s room!
So glad I could help 🥰
So good! Thank you for sharing this!
It's lovely Mon! Glad you are happy with it. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much 🥰
Looks absolutely beautiful! It has an organic look which is timeless. Thanks for the instructions.
I'm so happy you like it 🥰
Always coming up with the best ideas, super creative!
Aww thank you 🥰
You have the best natural look limewash I have come across in the entire youtube ! Great job !
Omg thank you 🥰💞 So glad you like it!
Excellent tutorial & just what I was looking for! Thanks so much for posting, I might go two shades rather than one.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this 🤩
So glad you like it 🥰💕
Beautifully done! I’m following your work and looking forward to your new video every week ❤️
Thank you so much! 🥰 Comments like this just make my day 💕
This looks great? Will definitely try it!
I love how your shorts reflect the process. Half one shade, half the other.
Hahaha yes, I didn't do it on purpose 😂
@@HomeByMonyes you did, haha
Great job. Cant wait to do my own space
Thank you very much Mon! What brilliant idea! Awesome result!

So happy you found it helpful 🥰
Thank you!! Exactly what I was looking for. Yours looks great! Hope mine will look as good 😊
It sure will 🥰💕
This came out great! I can’t wait to try it out. BTW, your shorts reminded me of the tray with the two different paint shades. 😂
Hahahahaha omg yes 🤣 The shorts are same as the paint tray 😅💕 So glad you like it!!
Tried this and wow. It’s gorgeous
So glad it worked for you 🥰
Amazing! well done Mon
Thank you so much 🥰
looks amazing! great job!

Awesome!!!👏👏👏

Glad you like it!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. We’ll be doing the same. Well done!
Do glad you like it 🥰
Bets tip ever!
So glad you think so!
Wow that looks so much easier than the instructions I got in our store
So glad you like my tutorial and find it helpful 🥰
Hello, Mon, thank you for your video!
I really have a problem to find the exact shades of paint till you can see them on, would you be able please to tell me exactly what paint did you use!!
Thank you so much
Love this! I love the look of limewash but not the upkeep because I have animals and animals mean dirty walls which needs cleaning. Limewash will wash off but if you can get the same effect using paint you can clean 🤌🏽
Exactly my point of doing this video! Limewash is so beautiful but acrylic paint is so much more practical 🤣 I had to dupe it haha glad you like it 💞
Did you do Chiffon Cream & Linen White? Which paint brand + colors?
Thank you 🙏🏽
🥰
I have a question... A white base works well in this one bc the paint in top is quite light. I wonder if a white base would work well with darker colors like darker browns, greens, and cherry-wine colors...?
Love this! Btw Can i ask why when i use plaster or joint compound and after it dries, it cracks? Is there any ways for me to prevent it from cracking?
So glad you like it 🥰
Hmm.. I would say always prime the walls before applying plaster. Also, maybe you can try using drywall mesh tape underneath to prevent it from cracking. If you try it, let me know if it works 🥰
I don’t really understand, what is the primer for? Is it also water based, acrylic and matte? Or can I just use any white paint?
Hi love this, would you say it’s wipeable and ok around steam when cooking etc? Many thanks
Yes! Just make sure to use wipeable acrylic paint, and your wall will be steam and cooking resistant ☺️
Great video! qq for you - do you clean the brush prior to dipping in paint or just get it wet?
You don't have to clean it 😊
OMG was I pleasantly surprised when I saw the Bela Voda wine bottle, it is from my home country! I've been following you for a while and I find your accent very interesting so I wanted to ask you if you are from the Balkans. Btw great content, much love❤
Yes! I am from Macedonia 🤣💕 So happy I have subscribers from my home country ☺️🍀
I love this! Thank you so much, I now have the confidence to try this in my dinning room 😅. Quick question though, what was the finish of the paints you got? (Flat, semi-gloss, eggshell, etc)
I'm so happy you like my limewash wall project! 🥰 Go for it!! Also, I used matte finish 🤗
@@HomeByMon thank you so much ☺️
Specifically, which were the 2 colors you chose?
Good day! Thank you for the video... I was wondering what color would you use with a charcoal? would you use a very light color or one just a shade or two lighter than the charcoal color you like?
You can do just one shade, lighter or darker, whatever you prefer best 🥰
Hi, i would just like to ask. Will this work with semi gloss finish paints? It's hard to find matte paints where I live.
I think it should work ☺️💕
Hello is additional Primer still needed if paint has primer mixed in it already?
I think you can go without promer if the paint is all in one 🥰
Hi Mon, which primer did you use before painting the walls ? ;)
Hi 🥰 I used basic acrylic wall primer
I just found that the two colours blended together to make one inbetweeen color, blending together on the wall/brush with the criss-cross strokes. How often should I be redipping or cleaning the brush, please?
I am not really sure how often you do it, just start and you'll see how it goes
Hats off to you for sharing your faux lime wash project. However, next time try adding bonding and fine grit sand to your paints…
So glad you like my project! Will do 🥰
Hello! Love your tutorial! I was wondering what sheen of regular paint would you use to limewash? Would satin, velvet or matte be ok??
I used matte, to achieve that limewash effect, since limewash is matte. However you could definitely use whatever you prefer better. Satin and velvet should work too 🥰🫶
@@HomeByMon Thank you so much for your reply! I am so excited to try this!
Hi @HomeByMon I’m painter You recommend eggshell or satin paint for a good result?
🎉
Hello, sorry but i didnt understand: this is a real normal pintaing walls? 2 similar colours for normal paint walls? thank you!
Yes. I used acrylic wall paint. Mixed two similar shades, to achieve this "limewash" effect.
What colors did you use? I love that combo
I actually used basic wall acrylic paint, I don't know the brand 😅
Hi Mon...
What finish did you use for each paint...matte, eggshell??
I used matte ☺️
@@HomeByMon Thanks!
Don't understand both shade colours are matt finished?
And do i use the same technique process in weather shield water based color?
Yes, both colors are matt finished. You can try the same technique, it should work with any paint. I personally love working with acrylic, since it is more durable. Plus the matt finish adds up on that limewash effect 🥰
@@HomeByMon Thanks for answering ❤️
@@theSB0007 no problem ☺️ anytime!
This is probably a silly question but does this process leave a texture on the wall or is it pretty flat?
It is pretty flat, especially since you are watering the paint by going in with a wet brush ☺️
could i use this technique on paper covered wall?
I think you could, but I'm not sure. You should try it
Is this possible to do using silk paint?
I am not sure, but I think it should work ☺️
I know it's been a year since you posted this, but I was hoping to get some clarification on something. Did you use the Rustoleum paint you linked to this video as a primer or mix with your paint? I'm confused. I hope I get a response. Great! video and I'm looking forward to trying this technique.
I used a primer, let it dry out for 2 hours and then painted the wall with the "Limewash" technique 🥰
@@HomeByMonThank You! so much for clarifying this for me. 😊
what do you think to do this effect with white and light gray colors?😊
I think it would work even better, giving it that "cement" look 🥰
Hello, Mon, do you remember what paint brand did you use?
Thank you
I am so sorry, I don't remember it 😭 But it was a local brand, I am from a small country in Europe, so the brand I got would not be available everywhere 🫶
I see thank you, will latex paint work?
@@sofyaneklyudova9552 I think so.. just make sure it's matte finish, to achieve that limewash look 🥰
What finish did you use for the paint?
It was matte finish
What colour are these shades?
I am not really sure, since these are local paint brands, and they don't really have names 😓
Should I attempt this with a Matt colour and a metallic champagne!?
Try it out! ☺️
Does anyone know if this works with knockoff wall textured walls? I want to do this but afraid it wont stick!
Hmm I am not really sure, I haven't tried it, but I think it should work 😅
Does your wrist ache after all those opposite strokes! 🤔🤔🤔🤔😊😊😊😊😊
hey, would i be able to do this with a oil based paint?
Hmm I'm not sure 🙄 I have only tried it this way, so if you do try it, let us know 🥰
Has anyone considered adding fine sand to the paint, to give it more texture?
I would try matte or chalkboard paint
Why not just use limewash paint? Easier & better.
It's a bit expensive, plus I live in a small country in Europe, so I couldn't find limewash anywhere 😞 Also, acrylic is so much more durable
I see. Then pardon my ignorance and/or arrogance🫤
@@jandmath 🥰
Ummmm
Can I buy paint with primer in it to lime wash?
Yes, you can do that ☺️
