For me I would go with a blue tweed if you want a jacket that you wear exclusively with your Nordic Heritage Tartan. But if you want something more “universal” then go with a charcoal jacket if your doing one jacket with multiple kilts. It’s something that will be close enough to your “typical” black argyle jacket but still different enough to stand out. Also what ever jacket colour you do choose would look sharp with a matching pair of hose.
I like tweed but I wouldn’t have many opportunities to wear it because of the climate here in Florida. I do have a Harris tweed tammie but a tweed jacket might not be appropriate in this heat.

I will be wearing the trews to the London Caledonian Society Burns Night evening in January. It is a black tie event, and I am thinking about which jacket to wear. If I use a BPC, will that be okay with the tartan waistcoat? I also have a charcoal argyle that will go well with the tartan waistcoat. Opinions are most welcome from yourselves and your community.
